Chapter Text
It was no surprise that Bruce was able to land Jason an office job, not to mention one of the best Gotham had to offer him. He decided maybe Bruce was really sorry this time for fucking up everything else in his life after he turned fifteen. “Nice pay, you should be able to afford your own place soon,” Damian muttered from the kitchen. Ah yes, Jason almost forgot what he was doing… here… at the Manor.
He was packing up some things he would want on his desk at his new job. He was contemplating whether he wanted to pretend he had a secret kid and would leave their photo on his desk, anything to make his life seem more fun and exciting. “Save yourself the unwanted attention, Todd.” Damian jabbed at him. Was he reading his mind or something?
“I wasn’t being literal, and I’m gay.” Jason winced a bit; he was still getting used to telling the everyday people he hung around that he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend anytime soon or planned on having kids with said girlfriend because he was too busy looking for a boyfriend to settle down with.
“Just keep to yourself, and you should be fine. You're acting like one of Dick’s stupid friends managed to land a job there, which I strongly doubt.” Damian made sure to emphasize, strongly. “Dick doesn’t always hang around idiots; maybe some of his friends are crazy smart.” Jason tried to defend his older brother and the people he chose to hang around.
“Well, if that is the case, then they’d be smart enough not to work somewhere like Gotham, take their skills somewhere useful and hopefully more safe.” Damian never saw the good in anything; Jason was convinced. “I mean y’know how bad can this job actually be?” Jason scoffed, gathering the last of his belongings.

“Roy, how on earth did you manage to get hired by this company?” Roy felt a little butthurt with how shocked Dick was that he managed to land him a spot at one of the most successful companies in Gotham City. “Don’t fucking worry about it, plus I need the money since I’ll be caring for Lian full-time now.” Roy sighed as he took a hit from his blunt. He was about to pass it to Dick, but it seemed like he was too busy texting someone… probably Kori. Roy shrugged it off and continued to smoke the entire thing.

Dick frantically typed away at his phone, hoping he didn’t come off as suspicious. “He is such a fucking dick man, no pun intended!” Dick cursed loud enough to gain the redhead’s attention. Roy shot him a glare, “Who ya texting?” Dick drew his phone closer to his face, “uhhh just telling Wally about your new job … dude, haha?”
Roy rolled his eyes, “I already told him, and he doesn’t believe me either. So you both can disrespectfully fuck off!”
After a long pause and no response from Jason, Dick turned to Roy and smiled at him. “What if I was telling Jason Todd about your new hot fancy job?” Dick began to sound all flirty, the kind that leaves a funny taste in Roy’s mouth. “Well, I was planning on telling him when I actually y’know… get there?” Roy tried to sound as calm as possible, but he knew Dick could read right through him.
“You are such a horrible fucking liar, dude.” Dick shot him a shit-eating grin.

Jason felt his heart drop to his ASS. What the actual fuck, was he this stupid? He and Roy BOTH managed to get hired. Or were they just desperate for people? Y’know what, who the fuck runs this goddamn place? And how the hell did Roy Harper get a fucking job at the same place Jason was planning to work at?
And to make matters worse, Dick decided it would be a great time to drop the bombshell and stop responding to him. Jason let his phone fall flat onto his face as he lounged on the couch. “Why are you still here?” Damian groaned as he moved Jason’s legs to make room on the couch to sit comfortably. “Don’t fucking touch me,” Jason growled. “What the hell is your problem? Last time I checked, I didn’t piss in your fucking cereal.” Damian hissed, kicking Jason’s leg in the process.

Dick giggled as he typed away the last of his messages. “D’ntcha love being high?” Dick giggled, falling into Roy’s lap. Unfortunately, Roy was more of the silent or horny type of high. Back when they were teenagers, Dick experienced more of the horny side of Harper. “Dude, did we get cross-faded?” Dick asked, looking at the bottles on the coffee table. Sometimes Roy called it the liquor table, hence the lack of coffee on the table.

“Wrong emoji, idiot,” Jason muttered as if Dick was here to actually hear him. “What did the idiot do this time?” Damian questioned without looking up at Jason. “I dunno, you tell me. Is it him getting high with Harper, just so y’know that could either be weed or heroin, or whatever hard drug he found?” Damian let out an audible sigh, incoming rant from Jason.
“OR DAMIAN, is it him sending me a bunch of hearts trying to mimic the gay pride flag because Apple has yet to add one for people like Dick who just loveee to use the hearts to make pride flags!!”
Damian made a noise that Jason could only assume was not out of judgment, “Well, that wasn’t so bad if you ask me.”
“Or get this, is it him telling me that Roy fucking Harper and me possibly got hired at the same damn place!?” If nothing Jason has said before caught Damian’s attention, this for sure did. “You and Harper? Same job… wow, they really do hire anyone; you think they’ll hire a high schooler?” Damian grinned, jumping out of his seat.
“Don’t you fucking think about it!” Jason screamed, chasing after his younger brother.
