   Summary

   Grace awakens to learn a bloodied submarine has appeared in orbit around Erid. Inside is a man with horrifying mutations, who insists that Earth disappeared decades ago, planets with oceans of blood are real, and something out there outside of time is watching him. When Grace encounters the thing during an investigation into the SM-13 and sees it too, the two are drawn together out of a desire to understand how Simon is here, and why he has survived.
