Work Text:

"This isn't him asking," she had said to him a few nights ago over the crinkle of grocery bags as they fell onto the cushions of the sofa, her irises flickering from jade to amber. "It's-- it's me, Aaron. I want this. I want you to turn me."

"I want you to be my Alpha."

Careful hands wrap around his neck, her everything pressed flush to him, thick jet ink spilling over his chest with her movement. Her breath is soft and hot against the tissue of a healed scar, loosely curling from full plush lips, trapped between their warm bodies and seeping into bone.

He brushes her hair over her back, shaking fingers grazing the tender bare skin of her nape as she leans her head to the side. His other hand reaches over and cusps her cheek, urging her to look at him. Her witty brown eyes, deep and loving and half-lidded, shimmer under the glow of a whole moon.

He curls into her, burying himself in her essence, teeth to skin, tentative, like a slow bite into ambrosia to savor. Blood like wine, he kisses the wound away, gentle, trailing to the edge of her collarbone.

"Aaron," she quietly moans against the shell of his ear, the sound breathless and instinctive, the single-most precious thing he's ever heard.

He pulls away with his thumb over the mark, rubbing idle circles onto the base of her throat. Her eyelids flutter open and she finds the pleading look reflected in his face, words he can't quite get himself to say oozing from his pores. He leans down for her and drapes his head over her shoulder, extending his neck in offering.

He shuts his eyes as her mouth sinks into him like an anchor, a shuddering sigh falling from his lips with the stutter of his heart. The burn of her canines mutedly aches as she peels away from him, warmth swelling within his chest and flooding through his veins, his blood, her love engraved into him permanently.

"I love you," he whispers, entangling himself with her open arms, the sweet scent of lavender and vanilla he's known all of his life eclipsing everything that isn't her. He thinks back to the box tucked into the first drawer of their dresser, a pedestal, a golden loop for a pure diamond, thinks of the way she laughed after she scared him shitless by walking in unannounced, thinks of her words to him earlier that night, an echo in his mind. "I love you so much."
