"GOD, GOD WHY ME?" Lima screamed internally, suffering a panic attack in the ship's vents, he was on the verge of collapsing. Although the vents were warm, it wasn't the same as the hug he so desperately craved to feel, but at the same time didn't, he hated being touched, he hated everything, even himself. What he hated the most was being born, he knew he was a mistake, his parents repeated it to him constantly: he was a useless, coward, and defective. HOW HE HATED THAT DAMN LIFE OF SCREAMS AND THREATS.He finally left home, rented a small garage, it wasn't exactly what he wanted but it was cozy and comfortable, the place was tight but warm and it made him feel hugged.Until that damn day arrived, that damn piece of shit day that came to fuck everything up.Lima's parents arrived and treated him very poorly, causing him physical pain and destroying his whole garage. Lima was completely devastated to see that all his effort was in vain. He felt as though there was no point in living anymore and thought about ending his life, feeling as though he was a mistake and that nobody loved him."IT IS NO USE, I AM A MISTAKE," he screamed over and over again in despair. He had struggled with these dark thoughts many times before, feeling like a failure because he could not find a way to cope with his pain.Lima sobbed desperately in the echo of the vents. "Lima..?" he heard a distant voice. He had completely forgotten he was close to the medbay. It was the voice of the ship's doctor. "Lima, are you okay?" Blue asked, worried for his crewmate. Receiving no answer, Lima wanted to crawl away, but he knew it would be obvious he was there."Lima?... Lima?" Blue called desperately. He understood that his job wasn't just to treat physical injuries but also to support emotional well-being, and he was not going to leave Lima in that state."Lima, please come out of there. I beg you, I do not want to leave you like this," Blue said. Lima finally responded in an annoyed but shaky tone, "What do you want?""Lima... come here please." Lima listened to Blue and moved closer to the vent. Blue reached in and gently pulled Lima out. "HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" Lima screamed, trying to break free, but Blue ignored the resistance and finally hugged Lima.Lima was stunned to feel Blue's warm arms surrounding him.Blue began to slowly stroke Lima's head. Lima didn't say anything; he just let himself be hugged, though he felt a strong urge to cry. He struggled with feeling vulnerable.Blue realized Lima was on the verge of tears. "It's okay, Lima... I will protect you," Blue said warmly.Lima clung to Blue's chest and cried inconsolably.Lima could finally release the anger and sadness he had accumulated for years. Blue was sad to see Lima in such pain but glad he could offer comfort. After a while, Lima calmed down in a peaceful silence.Lima slightly raised his head. "Forgive me.." he said. "Why? You didn't do anything wrong," Blue replied. "I got your lab coat wet," Lima said, embarrassed.Blue laughed softly. "That does not matter, what matters is you," Blue said, wiping Lima's tears.Lima blushed and moved back slightly, though he didn't really want to. "It wasn't that big of a deal," Lima said nervously.Blue looked at Lima with great affection. Lima moved closer again. "Can we stay like this a bit longer?... please," Lima asked. "It's okay," Blue smiled, happy to see Lima feeling better.
extra: "And what are those two doing standing there hugging?... well, it was to be expected," Mora said while she kept watching the cameras and drinking her coffee.
