Work Text:
“Huh? Hi, Jamil!”
“Hello, Deuce.”
Jamil gave a small nod to Deuce, who was hanging off a branch covered in paint, one hand holding a branch, the other holding the painting brush and a small paint can hung off his belt.
Jamil was pretty glad he wasn’t in his place, despite how happy Deuce seemed to look, he shivered at the idea of how many damn bugs Heartslabyul probably had…
“What are you doing here?”
Deuce looked around his belt to try and put the brush somewhere before he placed the handle between his teeth and hung down, jumping off the tree before he took the bucket and brush off him to place on the ground and walked closer.
Jamil was glad Kalim wasn’t in the dorm as well, Heartslabyul was known for being mad, that included doing a bunch of bat shit crazy things.
Deuce’s attention immediately looked down at the box in Jamil’s hands and tilted his head slightly at it, almost like a dog, Jamil could see why Riddle favored Deuce over Ace despite his insistence he loved them both equally.
“Well, your housewarden wanted me to make him something from my hometown, he had been learning more about the Scalding Sands so I’d thought I’d help a bit.”
It technically wasn’t a lie, Riddle had been learning a lot about the place from the culture to the literal language just because Riddle wanted to be closer with where his friends were from.
But Jamil wasn’t going to admit he just wanted an excuse to see Riddle and be away from Kalim for a tiny bit.
“Oooo can I try??”
“I’m afraid it’s probably too spicy for you, Riddle had warned me one of you would ask.”
“Come on!!!! If Housewarden can have it I probably can! It’s- like- a card soldiers job to make sure their queen’s food is suitable!”
“It’s plenty suitable.”
Jamil was pretty amused by Deuce’s insistence to try the food he was sure would send Deuce into a heat stroke.
Riddle had warned Jamil that his students practically ate food off his plate, and Jamil had seen it before, he’s watched students come up behind Riddle and stare with a pitiful expression before Riddle gave them a bite of whatever he had.
It was motherly the way Riddle sometimes would tell them it was ‘too spicy’ or that they ‘wouldn’t like it’ but give in eventually.
“Pleaseee??????”
“I’m not Riddle, that won’t work on me.”
“What won’t work?”
Riddle walked up to Jamil and Deuce and Jamil could see Deuce already prepping himself to beg for a bit of food.
“I told him he can’t have the food I prepared for you.”
“You actually made it? Oh why thank you! But yes, Deuce you cannot have this.”
Deuce let out a whine and looked to be starting temper tantrum over it and even childishly pouted.
“Why can you have it and I can’t?”
“Because I asked him to make it for me, and it’s not like I can taste spice anyways, it’s Scalding Sand food, the word ‘Scalding’ is in the name, now get back to work, Deuce!”
“Oh, okay!”
Deuce nodded as though it was the most obvious thing in the world and waltzed on back to his paint bucket and brush and got back to work.
Jamil almost forgot Riddle couldn’t taste most things, just because everything was so bland as a child his taste buds genuinely fried out.
Unless something was sickly sweet or insanely spicy it tasted like mush, it was another reason why Riddle wanted to try such foods, just to see if he could taste something.
“Jamil, would you like to stay a bit? I wasn’t expecting visitors but I was having my own little tea party that I wouldn’t mind having you join.”
“I’d love too but I wouldn’t want Kalim to accidentally hurt himself with me gone-“
Jamil looked down at his phone at it suddenly vibrating and he got a text from Kalim, being notified that Kalim had not stayed where Jamil told him and was hanging out with Ruggie, which did give Jamil some free time.
“Well… I stand corrected, I’d love too.”
Riddle smiled and grabbed Jamil’s hand, guiding him into the rose garden, to which felt more like a straight path than what he’s heard.
Though he knew this entire place was sentient and adored Riddle to death so he didn’t question it too much as they got to a small table with an almost absurd amount of sweet treats, and probably had double with how much Jamil had seen Riddle eat.
Most didn’t know but Riddle was a giant foodie, most wouldn’t understand unless they had been with Riddle while he ate, it was genuinely impressive how fast and how much Riddle could eat and still be as skinny as he was.
Riddle had gotten Trey to provide another tea cup and the both sat down and Riddle, now in possession of the food, opened it up and grabbed a fork to try it.
“So what is it?”
“It’s called spicy potato in the Scalding Sands but I’m pretty sure it translates to spicy potatoes.”
“Jamil, the translator.”
Riddle smiled slightly as he took some of it on his fork and took a bite, Jamil felt his face get warm at the slight tease.
As grateful as Jamil was for the translation magic that encapsulates the isle, he did have small trouble when he would try to explain what a dish was called to someone since it always got automatically translated.
It made Jamil wonder how the hell Rook was able to speak French.
Jamil curiously looked at the sweet treats that littered the table and picked up a small macaron and took a bite.
It was sweet.
So sweet Jamil almost felt like all his teeth had fallen out, though what could he expect when it was on Riddle’s table.
“Too sweet?”
“How are you guys not 500 pounds?”
“Strict work outs, anyways, this is really good.”
“Can you taste it?”
Jamil asked as he watched Riddle finish it, he didn’t think his internal monologue was THAT long and he did pack a bunch of potatoes along with some rice on the side in the container but Riddle did eat fast all right.
“Kinda, I can feel a small tingle in the back of my throat and the smell filled in a lot of what I assume it to taste like, it’s better than nothing.”
“I’ll make sure to get you something more flavor packed instead then, most food from the Scalding Sands is mostly flavor and not just spice anyways.”
“I’ll be waiting.”
...
“Yo, Jamil! Why are you always here?”
Jamil turned his attention to Ace, he was soaked head toe in water, his pink clothing sticking to his skin, the only thing about him that wasn’t wet was this little plastic flamingo clip in his hair.
Jamil had been coming over rather often, hasn’t he? He didn’t think it was that much, maybe 3 times a week?
“I’m not always here.”
“You’re here a lot more than someone who ‘doesn’t’ have a crush on how housewarden should be.”
Apparently 3 times a week is too much according to Riddle’s overprotective students.
“I think you have it mistakes, I do not have a crush on Riddle.”
It wasn’t exactly a crush…
“That’s what half the school says, liar!”
Ace scoffed and frantically shook his hair of whatever water was in it, spraying Jamil just a tiny bit, surprisingly the clip stayed in place.
Despite how much Ace says he doesn’t care for Riddle too much, was by far one of the more protective students when it came to people crushing or getting too close to Riddle.
Jamil was sure Ace would be furious if he found out the currently relation between him and Riddle, he once watched Ace get all jealous when Riddle praised a freshmen student from Ignihyde for getting a good score on his test, he quite literally pouted and kicked rocks the entire time until he found a reason to drag Riddle away.
Though Jamil was sure Ace and Deuce internally competed with every student for Riddle’s attention like the little hogs they were.
Ace looked down at the container and you might as well have thought Jamil transformed into a different person as he pointed at the food.
“That for Housewarden?”
“It’s too spicy for you.”
“You always say that! Housewarden put me on- like- this suppppppper strict diet, let me have a small bite!”
“And allow him to get pissed at me? No thanks. What diet could you possibly be on anyways?”
“I can only have two plates during unbirthday parties, Trey can’t bake for me, AND Riddle has me working out more!”
“How will you possibly survive without your additional 10,000 pounds of sugar?”
“I’m serious!”
“What did you even do to get this?”
“I gained- like- a TON of weight compared to when I first got here, it’s like I’m at a fat camp but the place is made of candy.”
“I severely doubt-“
“ACE TRAPPOLA!”
Riddle shouted and Ace cursed under his breath and stood up tall, Jamil swore he could see Ace sucking in a tiny bit, as Riddle came close and glared at him.
“Don’t tell me you’re neglecting your duties?”
“No, Housewarden! I’m just… uh… making sure Jamil isn’t a threat… Housewarden!
“Sure… drop down and give me 30 for that lie.”
“30?!??!??”
Ace groaned and, instead of doing push ups, started to do burpees instead, though Jamil supposed that was a better full body work out.
Riddle turned his attention to Jamil, he had learned to savor whenever Riddle smiled at him like this.
“Sorry about Ace, I’ve been making him cut his calories since he’s been gaining a massive-“
“MASSIVE??!”
“Sorry, an EXORBITANT amount of weight that hasn’t been getting regulated despite our regular work out sessions… mostly because someone has been skipping them, so I have to put him on this schedule.”
Ace let out a groan at the new term but continued his burpees, panting heavily as he counted each one.
“It seems excessive.”
“You asked how we aren’t 500 pounds, this is how.”
“At least I’m glad Kalim manages to burn off my food with how energetic he is.”
“If only Ace was the same, speaking of you, why are you so wet?”
“Flamingos… great seven… 27! Don’t like me, Housewarden!”
“Don’t be so mean to them and you wouldn’t get so wet.”
“Their meannnnn first!”
Ace whine and, once he got to 30, collapsed on the ground and Riddle sighed almost in pity and he grabbed a bottle of water that Jamil didn’t even notice was there, and uncapped it, handing it off to Ace, who greedily guzzled it down.
Ace finished it all in one swoop, giving it back to Riddle with a smile after wiping the water off his mouth, like he wasn’t just forced to give him 30 god damn burpees.
“Thanks, Housewarden!”
“You’re welcome, now get back to flamingo duty.”
Ace pouted childishly but walked away and left, leaving Riddle and Jamil there.
“So… what’d you get me this time?”
“It’s just another rice dish, it’s not my most impressive work.”
“All of your food is good, I’m just happy I can taste it.”
Oh how could Jamil possibly forget that look Riddle had when he could first taste something like that?
His eyes had lit up like a kid experience Christmas for the first time and quickly devoured it once singing Jamil’s praises, which had Jamil coming every few days just to see Riddle so happy he could taste something.
Plus, it’s what got his first kiss so how could he forget that either?
But the taste was the main thing… yeah the taste.
“How about we head to my bedroom?”
“Not your usual tea party?”
“I don’t just eat sweets all day, you know.”
“Could’ve fooled me.”
“Shut up!”
Riddle scoffed and lightly hit Jamil’s arm before he held it, dragging him towards the house and brought him up through the twisting hallways to his room.
Once they entered Riddle’s room, the smaller boy closed it behind Jamil and smiled softly, grabbing Jamil by the back of his neck and giving him a kiss.
“That’s why I wanted to go to my bedroom.”
“Riddle… I don’t mean to alarm you but we’re going a bit faster for sex-“
“I just wanted a kiss!”
Riddle almost punched Jamil again if not for Jamil offering the food that made Riddle forget all about it.
“Yum! I’m starving!”
“You just have a bottomless pit in your stomach, hm?”
“You’re the one trying to fill it.”
Riddle huffed and plopped on the bed, opening the container and immediately dug into the food, Jamil supposed he knew why Trey liked making all those sweets.
It was incredibly rewarding just watching Riddle devour the food as though it was the best thing in Twisted Wonderland and then ask for more.
Kalim acted like this, sure, but for some reason he liked it much more when it came from Riddle’s mouth.
“You know a way to one’s heart is through their stomach.”
“You’ll have a LOT of filling to do before you truly make it there.”
.
.
.
“… please?”
“It’s too spicy, you won’t like it!”
Riddle argued as the container of food sat in his lap, he was eating it in peace but what was peace when he was the Housewarden to a bunch of Velcro students?
He supposed he was at fault for thinking he could eat this on his throne and trying to enjoy it, not scarfing it down the nearest free chance he got since now he had Cater over here, sitting on the damn floor with his cheek pressed against the arm of the chair, staring up at him with a pleading expression.
Cater wasn’t a fan of sweets so he didn’t regularly beg for them like the rest of Heartslabyul did but as soon as Riddle had a non-sweet dish? Cater might as well have been doing back flips in order to get a bite.
“I don’t mind it being spicy! I swear! Please it smells #SoGood!”
“No, Cater!”
“Pleaseeeeeee?”
Cater wouldn’t give up until he got a bite, Riddle knew it well enough that all of Heartslabyul knew their beloved Housewarden would always feed them if they begged hard enough… or starved enough, didn’t matter.
Riddle sighed and used his fork to hold a bit of the rice and a piece of chicken and put his hand under it, which Cater gladly opened his mouth as Riddle fed him a big spoonful.
Riddle watched Cater with an almost satisfied smile when Cater had proven his point, though Cater would NEVER accept that and proceeded to try and convince Riddle for a few minutes it wasn’t too much on him at all until Riddle gave him his water to drink.
“What even is that?”
“Jamil made it, from the Scalding Sands, I forgot what it’s called, there’s so many rice and meat dishes.”
“He comes over a lot, huh?”
Riddle shrugged at Cater’s words, taking another bite of the food in front of him, he had been coming by almost near daily to give him food.
Jamil wouldn’t stay as long as Riddle wished he did, sometimes it was a short hand off, maybe Riddle could sneak in a tiny kiss if nobody was looking, but Jamil’s presence was definitely noticeable.
“… are you guys close?”
“We are, we’ve learned a lot about each other since this.”
“Mhm…”
Cater had calmed down considerably, still sitting on the floor with his head on the armrest but he was instead looking at Riddle with a suspicious look.
“What is with that mischievous look of yours, Cater?”
“Nothinggggggg.”
“Hm, one question.”
“AreYouAndJamilDating?????”
Cater sprung up like this was the most important thing on the planet and Riddle had to pause and think about their relationship.
“Yes, yes we are.”
“Come onnnnn! Of course you’re- wait- WHAT???”
“Yes, we started to date last year.”
“… you’re serious????”
“Deadly.”
Riddle almost forgot he was in a public area until he heard the loud gasps coming from the other students in the room with him, one of the cat demihumans were literally sleeping at his feet and looked up with surprise.
Riddle was a bit confused at how surprised everyone was, sure they did start to spend more time together but they weren’t exactly hiding their relationship, if anyone asked they wouldn’t deny it.
They were just not the most PDA people, Riddle himself would be a hypocrite if he scolded a ton of people for making out in the hall then turn around and start sucking Jamil’s face off, though guess Riddle knew why so many of those people would just say he was a jealous single man.
“You two…. HAVE BEEN DATING FOR A YEAR?! And didn’t tell me????”
“You never asked, we were not keeping this a secret, we didn’t find a reason to go around flaunting it.”
“Housewarden. YOU HAVE EVERY REASON TO FLAUNT! You two- are like the most attractive people in NRC-“
“I wouldn’t say I’m-“
“Let me sing your praises, please, most attractive people in NRC and are dating each other! I should’ve known! Only perfect people can be together…”
Cater groaned and Riddle brought his hand up to card his fingers through his hair and Cater made a pleased noise at it, though the cat demihuman still lying at his foot clearly wanted some love too and Riddle was forced to set his now finished food container aside and use his other hand to pet the head that forced its way into his lap.
“I didn’t know you would want to know, it’s wasn’t significant enough to either of us to talk about it.”
“That’s what #PerfectPeople say once they are with other #PerfectPeople… literally nobody knows this!”
“People know!… well…”
Riddle hummed and actually started to think… DID anyone know?
Riddle let go of both of the student’s hair, which made both groan and Riddle grabbed his phone and texted Jamil.
‘Does anyone know we’re dating? I was talking to Cater and this is the first thing he’s heard about it.’
‘Kalim figured out last week and he’s still shocked, don’t think anyone really knew.’
Riddle, while on his phone, looked through their messages, they barely texted more than Riddle did with anyone else and the texts were fairly simple,
“Have you guys even gone on dates?”
“We don’t need to go out, usually Jamil just makes stuff for us and we eat in my room, that’s our date.”
“THAT IS SO NOT A DATEEEEE! You’re- you’re just, like- hanging out! I’ve technically been on more dates with you more if we think about it like that!”
“Ours aren’t dates because I don’t willingly have you in my room, you just show up, take food out of my mouth, and talk until you go into a gossip coma.”
Riddle insisted, finally getting the hint and starting to pet the cat demihuman in his lap after he had made multiple groans and pushing himself against Riddle.
Cater only pouted at Riddle’s unnervingly accurate description of what he had been doing on a near daily basis and stayed still while Riddle went back to playing with his hair.
…
“Housewarden! Housewarden! Say it isn’t true!!!!”
Riddle didn’t even have to look back as he felt a solid weight suddenly jump on his back, arms and legs wrapping around him rightly as Deuce’s sad face appeared upside down in front of him instead of roses.
He wasn’t sure where in Twisted Deuce and others got this habit of jumping on Riddle and having him carry him came from but ever since they figured out Riddle had the god damn body strength of a god they manage to get Riddle to baby them like this at least once every few days.
“Aren’t you a bit old for ‘uppies’?”
“Not if you can do it! But say it isn’t true!”
“… what isn’t true?”
“Tha-“
“That you’re dating that Scarabia boy!!!!”
Ace came rushing into the area Riddle was in next, stopping just a fraction of a second to gawk at the spectacle of someone who probably weighed around 200 pounds climbing all over his 5,3, barely even 100 pound Housewarden before snapping back into the present.
“Are you referring to Jamil? Because in that case yes I am.”
“NOOOOOO!”
“Deuce, you’re screaming in my ear.”
Riddle sighed at the noise though it wasn’t the loudest thing he’s heard even this hour, and Deuce finally got off his back, literally, and Riddle turned around to look at the two.
At the mention of Riddle having a boyfriend Deuce looked like he was mid tears, and Riddle wasn’t even going to try and mention the fake tough guy act Ace was trying to put up.
“Alright, what are you two so sad about now?”
“You can’t have a boyfriend! That’s- like- something you can’t have!”
“So you’re saying I don’t deserve love?”
“NO! I’m not- ugh… WE love you! You don’t need Jamil!”
Riddle felt himself get amused once he figured out why Ace and Deuce looked like he assigned them flamingo duty until graduation, both of them still stumbling through their own reasons on why Riddle shouldn’t be dating.
They were jealous! So unbearably jealous of each other to begin with that with Jamil that they couldn’t stand the idea of Riddle not focusing all his praises on them.
Riddle got them to shut up once he walked forward, setting his staff down and wrapping his arms around both Ace and Deuce, pulling them down for a hug.
“You do realize I’m not going to love you guys any less, right?”
“Yes you will! Once you find a love you start neglecting your kids! That’s us! We’re your kids!”
“Juice quit talking about your dad.”
Riddle gave them a small squeeze as Ace and Deuce hugged back immediately, deciding to let them silently fight over the hug but Deuce was ultimately victorious in pressing himself up against Riddle more.
It was probably the ‘Juice’ comment.
“As much as you two infuriate me deep into my soul-“
“Ouch…”
“I adore you two just as much, I wouldn’t trade you two for the world, okay?”
“… you’re lying straight into our ears you were ecstatic to swap us out for Sebek and Jack.”
“I… I was crying on the inside, okay? Stop fighting with your queen, Ace.”
Riddle said with a small chuckle and pinched Ace a tiny bit on the side of his neck that almost made him pull back… if not for the idea of Deuce gladly soaking up then hug.
“If I didn’t love you two I wouldn’t be dealing with your shit, I would let you two die in one of the numerous ways you’ve almost killed yourself by.”
“That’s a better analogy.”
Deuce hummed hugging Riddle tight just so Ace couldn’t swoop in and Riddle, being the all fair queen he was, had to push Deuce back a bit to allow Ace for a proper hug.
That Deuce pouted at and Ace smugly looked at him.
“I won’t forget you guys, it’s hard not too.”
Riddle said and ruffled both of their hair, it was a bit sappy to say that but he knew they’d appreciate the love, there was a reason Deuce didn’t talk about his dad and there was a reason Ace didn’t talk about his mom.
It was reasons Riddle has heard plenty of from them and other student in the late nights when either one come to his room to cry about it and snuggle up with him until they fell asleep and Riddle would let them sleep in for a bit.
It was reasons that wasn’t Riddle’s place to say.
“Ace, you’re getting my uniform wet.”
“NO IM NOT! Also HOUSEWARDEN you CURSE????”
“No I didn’t? I would never use such improper language.”
“I swear-“
“Ace, shut up and enjoy the hug!”
Deuce groaned and almost fought for the right to be close to Riddle again if not for Ace hugging on to Riddle for dear life.
Deuce hugged Riddle more anyways, Ace always fought Riddle if he wasn’t crying and pouring his heart out, as tiny as Riddle was he was strong and always forced Ace int a hug one way or another.
Ace liked Riddle’s hugs, he could see why Deuce looked content lying on Riddle and just getting hugged if Riddle dared try to lounge, Ace had to try it… if it wasn’t embarrassing!
.
.
.
“What’s up, Houewarden’s BF!”
“Cater.”
Jamil had been being called that by almost every Heartslabyul student, or at least variations of it, he still wasn’t sure how Heartslabyul was reacting to such news but he hasn’t been jumped yet.
“So… you’re really dating him, huh?”
Trey was beside Cater, preparing for what Jamil assumed to be an unbirthday party but very well could just be them having a tea party just because.
Jamil once made the mistake of assuming their parties weren’t as chaotic with Riddle in charge but it felt more akin to accompanying Kalim to one of his numerous family’s gatherings but nobody is trying to kill each other.
And if there was food fights, or cake fights.
Riddle had told him how Trey had reacted, which was Riddle more so mourning the pastry tray he dropped, with no real heed towards Trey’s shock.
Trey didn’t see like he wanted to kill him so Jamil felt a bit safe.
“Yeah, been for a while, he’s really sweet.”
“He is, huh?”
Cater hummed, which sounded incredibly sarcastic and Jamil readied himself to start to run… Riddle had told him they’d do this…
He already got threats from Ace and Deuce but Cater and Trey doing it felt a lot worse, maybe it was because they were older and more advanced in magic.
“Look, Jamil, you probably heard this from numerous Heartslabyul students before but we really just want to… hone it in, you know?”
Trey wiped his hands on his pants and stood up, walking over to Jamil, he backed up until he felt Cater, more so Cater’s clones, grab him from behind and guide him to sit down.
Jamil was kinda wishing they paraded their relationship around before they sold their soul to Riddle in exchange for affection so he wouldn’t experience half the threats…
“We just want to talk.”
“I don’t really want to… look I’m kinda busy….”
“No you’re not, I know Kalim is with Ruggie and Azul in Scarabia for tutoring.”
Cater smiled, sitting down across from Jamil next to Trey and Trey opened his mouth to say something until.
“Cater! Trey! What in twisted are you two doing?! I certainly hope it’s not slacking off!”
The two clones immediately disappeared and Cater and Trey sprung from their chairs, standing tall while shouting ‘no, Housewarden!’ it would’ve been amusing if Jamil didn’t feel like he was about to be killed.
Riddle saw Jamil and seemed to connect the dots and immediately got into scolding the two before he ordered them to continue working, turning his attention to Jamil.
“Sorry about them, I told them not too but they’d rather die than listen…”
Riddle sighed as Jamil sat back up and Riddle held Jamil’s hand, bringing him deeper into Heartslabyul to see it actually was someone’s birthday, it was someone’s name Jamil didn’t recognize so he didn’t pay any heed.
“As usual, you are welcome to stay, you can bring take something back with you to Kalim if you want.”
“Appreciated but I think Kalim has enough sugar.”
Riddle smiled softly at Jamil’s words, giving his hand a squeeze.
Jamil could see why Heartslabyul loved their Housewarden so much, usually if it was someone’s birthday in their dorm usually it was just close friends and a small party… unless Kalim got involved but usually they stayed in their little groups.
Riddle seemed to make it mandatory that everyone participate in that person’s birthday, gifts included with how high the gift tables were stacked.
“You guys really like your birthday parties, hm?”
“Oh yes, almost as much as unbirthday parties! I make sure to remember all of their birthdays so they aren’t left out, some don’t like to participate in these large scale parties so sometimes it’s just me and them but it is a joy when they like to do this.”
“… you remember every one of your dorm mate’s birthdays?”
“I remember everyone’s birthday, birthday, names, preferences, what they want, I remember it all.”
“You don’t ever get confused?”
“Why would I?”
“It… it’s nothing, just impressive, is all.”
Riddle let out a small chuckle at that, as though it wasn’t impressive in the slightest, Riddle always downplayed his achievements like this, Jamil was almost tempted to start singing his praises like these people did but he’s sure Riddle’s heard it enough.
Once they were in a more private area Riddle turned to him and leaned up, giving him a kiss, it sounded a bit ridiculous to think Riddle brought him all the way over here just for a kiss but Jamil didn’t mind.
He leaned into it, wrapping his arms around Riddle’s waist and pulling him close, feeing Riddle’s arms around his neck and Jamil felt a lingering sensation like he was being watched and opened an eye.
Trey, he probably was looking for Riddle for something and Jamil only thought one thing and one thing only.
‘Payback.’
Riddle let out a small gasp and pulled back, blushing as he smacked Jamil’s chest when his hand came down to grope his butt, only chuckling in return.
“Couldn’t help myself.”
“Oh shut up.”
Riddle huffed, cheeks puffing out as he leaned up to kiss him again and Trey got the hint they were busy and left.
Riddle soon pulled back and turned at the sound of someone calling for him.
“Party’s done, got to go, love you.”
“Love you more.”
Riddle smiled and kissed his cheek, grabbing the food Jamil had and left and Jamil waited for a bit, he could hear them start to sing happy birthday in a surprisingly good chorus and decided to take his leave.
Jamil walked behind and looked over where the birthday boy sat, Riddle was behind him as he opened his gift, it was probably a good one with how he started to jump up and down and hugged Riddle like he owed him the world.
He felt himself unintentionally smiling as he watched before he made his way through the portal.
Cute.
