Work Text:
Purple Is My Favourite Colour
My friends say purple is too masculine.
That pink is a better colour.
I don’t care,
For I know it’s like no other,
Purple is my favourite colour.
My teachers say purple is too loud,
And that I should choose something duller.
I don’t care,
They can go call my mother.
Purple is my favourite colour.
My sister says purple is undesirable.
That it won’t attract a partner.
I don’t care,
Who needs men when you have brothers?
Purple is my favourite colour.
My mother says purple is too grown,
And that I should keep it undercover.
I don’t care,
Babying will only make me tougher,
Purple is my favourite colour.
Friends, teachers, sister, mother,
All share the same opinion with each other.
I don’t care,
Nothing could ever make me choose another,
Purple Is My Favourite Colour.
