Chapter Text
RIIIIING RIIIING!!
Sword groaned, covering his ears with his pillow. Illumina please be kind enough to me for ten more minutes of sleep.
Sadly, that quiet little prayer barely did shit. The alarm kept screaming at him to get up.
RIIIIIING! RIIIIIIING!
Sword sleepily reached his hand to his nightstand and smacked the snooze button. He relished the silence from the alarm at last with a satisfied hum.
Sure, school started at what? 8 AM? Yeah, he had plenty of time to sleep and dream... But dream about what?
Sword woke back up in a wide room. Lights danced all around him and pop music he barely recognized blared in his ears.
"What the world...?" Sword mumbled, looking around at the other inphernals dancing together. The atmosphere itself was bright and loud. Where the hell-?
Oh.
He was dreaming about prom night. Something pretty pointless. Who would even take him out? Was this dream meant to shame him for how lonely he was?
Sword swallowed, lowering his head solemnly, having no one to even dance with...
"Hey." Someone stepped in front of him. "You okay?"
"Yeah I'm-" Sword looked up and paused.
The music switched to a calmer, slower song as if on cue. And oh, Illumina it was perfect for them. Sword was met with a slightly grey inphernal with two pairs of messily carved blue horns. He was shorter but had just a little bit more muscle that was definitely hidden under the suit he wore. Oh he was gorgeous.
"Hey." The boys voice went off in his ears. "You're staring."
"Oh-!" Sword forced out an awkward chuckle. "I-I'm sorry about that!"
The blue-horned inphernal simply chuckled back. Sword's shitty ass thought it was the cutest thing ever. (Fucking loser ass bum)
"It's okay, I'm Rocket." Rocket introduced himself.
"Sword."
Sword scrubbed one of his cheeks, feeling his face heat up.
"You wanna dance together, Sword?"
Sword's jaw dropped out of surprise. His face heated up even more it was probably melting off. He was asking him to dance??? NAAAAAAHHHHHH.
"M-Me?!" HOLY SHIT!!!
"Yeah dude." Rocket shrugged, reaching a handout to Sword and pulling him to the middle of the dance floor.
Sword slowly and hesitantly held Rockets hands, almost swaying to the music until Rocket gently held Sword's flushing neck. Sword bit his lips out of fear because...well...look who was flirting with him so damn much!
Swords silly ass glanced around nervously, he wasn't used to dancing that much. He tried focusing on the lights, but they weren't flashing around anymore. Instead, they danced around the room in pink and red.
Rocket noticed that his eyebrows furrowing at poor Sword. "Sword, you look so nervous. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm just not the best at dancing." Sword admitted, glancing away at the floor.
Rocket cupped one of Sword's cheeks and lifted his head. "But Sword," Rocket whispered, inching his face closer.
"You're so perfect."
Rocket looked down at Swords lips for a beat, then back to his eyes.
"So perfect..." Rocket whispered again, going in for the kill. Or perhaps this moment kiss.
Sword leaned in as well, copying Rocket's seductive eye trick. "Am I...?"
Rocket simply nodded back and slowly closed his eyes.
"Oh Rocket..." Sword said in a quiet, needy tone. "I-"
"SWORD!"
Sword shrieked at the voice calling his name. He jolted awake on his stomach, magically being brought back to his bedroom.
"Wha...?" Sword looked at his bedroom door, seeing his caretaker and mentor Venomshank standing there in disappointment with Sisyphus on his shoulder.
"Get up, Sword." Venomshank ordered. "You almost missed breakfast."
"Buh...But the alarm didn't go-"
RIIIIING! RIIIIIIIING!
Sword groaned at how the alarm cut him off. He reached over and clicked on the alarms off button. "Alright I'll be downstairs in a few minutes."
Venomshank nodded and left the room. Sisyphus flew over on top of the lamp beside the alarm and cawed.
"Good morning to you to Sisyphus." Sword smiled while hopping off the bed to grab the clothes he left on the edge of the bed for his first day of school.
But something still didn't feel right.
That boy. Rocket.
Dear Illumina, he was so lonesome, wasn't he? Thinking about some fucking boy who never existed. Why was he even dreaming about some boy in the first place? He wasn't some damn gay fag. Venomshank would disown him for some bullshit like that.
Then why did you lean into that kiss so easily, Sword? Something asked in the back of his mind as he brushed his teeth.
Irritation went off in the low groan coming from Sword. He spat out the tooth paste and declared to himself.
"It was just a dream, just a stupid dream."
...
After a few minutes of eating and walking, he finally made it! He looked around at all the other students, chattering and doing whatever the fuck students did.
Sword sighed as he strolled to his locker, looking down at his schedule so he couldn't be seen. Please let's just get this over wi-
Bump!
"Ow-!" A boy yelped, bumping into Sword and falling over. "Watch where you're going, Dummy!"
Sword fell down on his butt (haha butt joke). "S-Sorry!" Sword rubbed his back, looking up at the kid he crashed into.
Oh Swords, it felt like he was still dreaming.
No way it was him.
"Oh My Illumina..."
"Huh?"
Did I say that out loud?!
"I-I-I'm sorry! I'm just super clumsy." Sword rubbed the back of his head nervously. "I'm Sword!" He introduced himself.
"Rocket."
Rocket...It's him! He's real! That dream meant something! They were each other's destiny.
"Rocket dude, get up man, we gotta get to class!" A red horned inphernal ran up beside Rocket and helped him up.
Waitwaitwait who the fuck is HE?
"Alright, Skate, give me a moment." Rocket offered a hand to Sword. "Sorry for calling you a dummy earlier, Sword."
Sword stared at his hand, admiring his chipped black and blue nails. Oh what a gorgeous style!
"It's ok Rocket, I probably should've watched where I was heading." Sword simply took the apology. Rocket was so nice! "I really like your nails too!"
"Thanks! Me and Rocky here are matching together since its our three-week anniversary since we dated." Skateboard bragged as he slung an arm over Rocket's shoulder.
The fuck?
Three-week anniversary?!
"SKATE! You can't just say that in front of people!" Rocket scolded with a red face. "I don't even like you!"
Yeah! SO shut the fuck up you nasty red-
"Pfft-! Don't even play with me, Rocket, you remember we kissed yesterday!" Skateboard snickered deviously.
"NO WE DIDN'T!"
Sword frowned at Skateboard, absolutely pissed for multiple reasons. He mapped each of those reasons in his head.
- He's embarrassing Rocket.
- He's ugly AS FUCK.
- Making Rocket uncomfortable AS FUCK.
- Apparently, he already kissed Rocket before him. (Sword bro why the fuck is this even a reason aint you a fucking homophobe???)
Sword took a deep breath, trying not to look like a scumbag in front of his new coolest friend! Just a friend.
"You two are so silly and sweet together!" Sword lied in their faces, even chuckling for effect. (DAMN!) "But I gotta get to class, bye Rocket! Bye Skate!"
"See ya later, Sword!" Skateboard waved at Sword with his arm still slung over Rockets shoulder.
Oh how that pissed. Him. Off.
Sword hated how Skateboard was treating Rocket like a trophy. Or like a new dog brought to some Show N' Tell.
"He's just trapped with some jackass..." Sword mumbled darkly under his breath once he finally made it to his locker.
Rocket didn't deserve to be treated like that by a piece of shit like him.
I could treat him better. Sword thought to himself. I'll kill that little red fuck.
That's what I'll do! I'll skin that dipshit alive so he won't swing his fatass arm on Rocket EVER. AGAIN.
A wide grin spread across Sword's face as he leaned against his locker, fantasizing all the ways he could kill Skateboard so he could keep his friend all to himself.
All this would be so worth it in the end! He only meant to do it all in a... Friendship way! Just as friends!! :)
