Zane didn't give off any natural warmth, but his hot chocolate, warm blanket and caresses certainly did on the couch in front of the fire.
Kiss
Oddly soft for a forceful peck of metal; not too shabby for an amateur are what Kai told himself as he felt over the moon.
Soft
Zane didn't know any part of Kai was until he awoke from sleep cradled between his arm and neck.
Pain
Kai switched between analyzing his welding work and observing Zane’s face frequently, unsure if he was lying to him when he said it didn’t hurt *that* much.
Potatoes
With Zane around, Kai more than tolerated cooking: juicy steak and buttery baked potato crisp in his mind, and he just knew Zane’s reaction to a steak dinner joke would be priceless.
Rain
Much to Nya’s amusement it brought them just about as much joy as a visit to the doctor’s.
Chocolate
Kai grinned, wrapped his arm across his back and leaned forward in satisfaction at Zane’s newest foray into making them ‘healthy’ sweets; his power, Zane guesses, flustered the white ninja immensely and got him embarrassed, because what else could be the reason?
Happiness
Hasty and inexperienced, Kai wasn't positive on what he was even feeling, but 'happy' only scratched the surface.
Telephone
Static seeped through the airwaves as Zane rubbed himself in circles and Kai continued saying perverted sweet nothings into his ear.
Ears
It began that day with a simple kiss, before Zane, having learned from 'the best' (according to his partner,) kissed several times more on the underside of Kai's jaw and nibbled on his pierced ear.
Name
Originally, Kai's parents were convinced that he'd inherit Maya's power over water and thus gave him a name so associated with the sea -- if he wasn't in chains under the watchful eyes of Chen's cultists, he'd shout his name, crying for help.
Sensual
If his titanium body had hair, it would be standing tall as Zane fell deeper into Kai's hold on the bunkbed.
Death
One day, it would be permanent: for Kai, at least -- for Zane, nobody asked and desired to find out, lest it open a wound long ago left open and practically bleeding on Zane's body for all to see.

The ninjas' most embarrassing hospital visit came after Zane's powers, still enhanced by the lingering magic of Forbidden Spinjitzu, nearly froze Kai solid while receiving anal after Zane orgasmed inside of him.

The warm titanium of Zane -- his hands, head, toes, and everything else -- soothed Kai in his times of need.
Weakness
Denial is not just a river in Egypt, (wherever that is,) because it was also Kai's default reaction to the idea that he *liked* Zane until Nya simply had enough and decided to let the white ninja know before Pythor found out.
Tears
Zane couldn't make them anymore, but he grieved in the volcanic park where Kai's ashes were long ago once spread all the same.
Speed
His hands were on his lips and his tongue was in his mouth as soon as Jay closed the closet door, and the others soon laughed loud enough for them to hear: Kai'd just done '7 Minutes in Heaven' in record time with Zane's help.
Wind
Morro and his possession tormented Kai relentlessly, attacking his mind from every angle which could put him out of commission, and the repeats of Zane's sacrifice as well as the numerous times they've argued forcibly imagined by him lingered in his soul for weeks afterwards.
Freedom
After the Oni invasion was vanquished, neither Kai nor Zane had any plans, so they figured: what the hell, might as well take their honeymoon now and not later.
Life
Kai'd been the most excited about becoming an uncle, but Nya's and Jay's kid soon grew into someone more on Zane's speed.
Jealousy
Zane was the last to know why he was always so crabby around Skylor.
Hands
Zane wasn’t sure what he was expecting after being sent into the future by Acronix’s time punch, but apparently, in less than five years from now, Kai will confess something Zane would’ve never guessed and they’ll be married by that October.
Taste
Zane enjoyed knowing that Kai was finally eating well, getting more than enough vegetables and meat for someone so active, and he particularly enjoyed when Kai washed the dishes afterwards to make up for his trouble.
Devotion
Kai worried if he would ever move on -- when he tried, it never stuck, and Zane’s last words repeated in his head over and over again.
Forever
There’ll be a day when Kai and Zane can't be ninjas anymore -- whether by the passage of time, the vanquishing of all evil, or by the realms themselves ceasing to exist entirely: leaving no way to tell new stories, but nothing in the foreseeable future will completely erase their names, and they just might last forever.
Blood
Zane couldn’t bleed anymore, but the shocking-to-the-touch cables might as well have been exposed guts to Kai.
Sickness
Zane kissed him softly on the cheek, tasting skin cells and sweat on his lips, but he didn’t mind as long as Kai understood that he was there for him -- even if he only wanted warm soup for now.
Melody
By the time Cole finished playing his guitar around the campfire, Kai’d fallen asleep minutes prior with an arm around Zane’s back -- and while Zane had hardly been moving, dozing off to sleep himself, Cole figured he was awake enough to get Kai off of him but chose not to.
Star
There’d been millions in the birchwood treehouse, but Kai made up for the lack of them in the middle of the city.
Home
It was in a farming village on the river, a birchwood treehouse in the taiga, a monastery on top of a mountain, a flying former pirate ship, a basement apartment in the city, a technologically advanced cave, and even the merged realms -- in their nightmares, it was a land forever trapped in winter and an island teeming with monsters.
Confusion
Zane was adorable when things simple to Kai confused him greatly -- but the red ninja quickly discarded the thought: Zane was a weirdo, and he wasn’t one too, was he?
Fear
Kai’d never felt anything like it until he gazed upon the evil Ice Emperor and recognized the expression Zane always wore when he was confused.
Lightning/Thunder
Zane’d once trusted Jay to keep a secret -- but when Nya asked when he was finally going to confess to Kai, because it would be good to have a brother-in-law who could cook, he vowed never to make that mistake again.
Bonds
When Kai stammered his words and gave up, out of excitement, fear, or something else entirely, Zane always knew what he'd been meaning to say and finished his sentences.
Market
It was where they typically bought their meat, as they were the two best equipped to handle it out of anyone else, and occasionally they ate some on the way home.
Technology
Zane knew Kai had no interest, and for that he couldn't be any more grateful.
Gift
Kai wasn't one for chocolate, flowers, teddy bears, or anything else of the sort, and Zane nearly got himself into a fit over what he should do in this situation.
Smile
The imitation was devastatingly accurate: his hands-on-hips posture, his slight lean backwards, the stupid smirk he always wore -- and Kai just about died of embarrassment when Zane mimed taking selfies.
Innocence
Zane may've not known many things, but Kai was adorable when left speechless and caught off guard.
Completion
Zane always won, but it wasn't out of a lack of Kai trying.
Clouds
Neither could see anything in them.
Sky
After losing yet again in the underground Slither Pits, Kai, disheveled and hungry, couldn't stand the snowfall outside and nearly drank himself to sleep.
Heaven
Neither knew of such a place, though they'd been somewhere like it when they sat alone together under the watchful eye of an ancient tree.
Hell
As they helped rebuild Styx, something which ended up taking months, Zane realized that his fondness of Kai hadn't been there before he'd sacrificed himself -- before dying.
Sun
The giant ball of fire taunted the Ice Emperor as an enemy which, despite his power, he couldn't conquer; it was as if it knew something he didn't.
Moon
His fire diminished in sheer intensity when night came, but Kai could still light the lamp which kept Zane's eyes open in their tent as they continued talking about nothing in particular.
Waves
Zane held Kai's hand as Nya encouraged him to get closer to the dock and step into the Endless Sea.
Hair
Kai had no idea how to style hair like his, but Zane'd let him try once, curious about what wearing his products would feel like.
Supernova
Kai'd initially only pretended to be interested in the supernova-close star Zane could show him from the telescope in the birchwood home he'd been raised in, but the ice ninja could be convincing when he wanted, and Kai did end up knowing where to find it even in far away Ignacia and the polluted skies of Ninjago City by the Slither Pits.
