Deltarune Chapter 6 Story Prediction

Summary:

My Summary of how I think Chapter 6 will go down

Titled- Cold Water

Work Text:

This is my rough prediction for the story of Chapter 6 of Deltarune. This was made 7/13/26, 2 and a half weeks after Chapter 5 was released.

Chapter starts with an ominous cutscene showing a brief glimpse into what Kris did immediately after walking Susie to castle town, with some slight variations depending on whether or not you did the ballon ending. After, we cut straight to Kris in their bed, as if nothing had ever happened.

We go to the living room and have a brief conversation with Toriel that clarifies how they returned home after Chapter 5, and they go to school, considering it is Monday. When Kris enters the classroom, everyone is there, including Susie, but Noelle is unusually quiet and sad, with most people offering sympathies, with Catti specifically showing disdain to Kris and Susie.

After class, Kris, Susie, and Noelle all stay behind in the school, and Noelle explains to Susie how her dad was injured after she left and is in Critical condition at the hospital. She is also angry at Susie for just vanishing during this time. They fight briefly, reconcile, and Susie introduces Noelle to Castle Town.

Here, we have our Castle Town segment, with every feature now having Noelle reacting to and even altering some features. (Susie also explains that she brought a bunch of darkners from Asgores shop, with her also taking on the responsibility of caring for the 7 flowers.)

Here, Seam creates the PureCrystal if you’ve gotten all 5 ShadowCrystals, and due to the sheer lack of information we have about this item, I really don’t know what it could be used for.

My leading theory is that the PureCrystal will be used to create an Ultra-Powerful weapon for one of the Fun Gang members via Malius, or perhaps all 3 main Fun Gang members if it has multiple uses before the Pure Crystal is “used up”.

The fuse recipes would look something like:

BlackShard + PureCrystal = CrystalDagger

JusticeAxe + PureCrystal = CrystalAxe

Broken Scarf + Pure Crystal = CrystalScarf

It will probably be used for something else, but the only use we have for the PureCrystal so far is fusing it with the ThornRing to make the TwistedSword, so I can only assume there will be more recipes it can make.

Oh, and I want to clarify that these weapons are the best of the best. Completely and utterly BROKEN. And as a side note, they all have an effect like “PierceShadow.”

An effect that grants heavily boosted damage against Darkness enemies (Titan, Titan Spawn) and the Knight (this will be important later, so remember this)

During this segment, The Fun Gang will explain the stakes of their mission to Noelle, (the shelter codes, the roaring, Asgore and Undyne) as well as inform Noelle that one of the two codes they have yet to obtain is in her house. They also determine that the only one who is guaranteed to have the Church/DELTARUNE code is Alvin.

So the Fun Gang (which now officially includes Noelle) form a plan.

Kris and Susie will go to the Church and convince Alvin to give them his Shelter Code, and Noelle will attempt to recover the Holiday Code from her sister’s guitar.

The Castle Town segment ends, and The members of the Fun Gang go their separate ways. We follow Kris and Susie as they go to the Church, and Alvin and Susie have a long father-daughter conversation. (Alvin is totally adopting Susie btw)
It’s through this we get a lot of Susie lore, we learn more about her shitty home life, and we also learn more about Alvin’s not so healthy relationship with his dad and how he wished he could have talked to him more. (Susie contemplates telling Alvin about the dark world here, but after remembering Sound of Justice, she decides against it) and the whole thing is just really fluffy. It ends with Susie and Kris getting the Church Code from Alvin.

By now, it is about 2-4 PM, and Kris and Susie head to Noelle’s house to check up on her after seeing she hasn’t called or been seen outside her house while they were gone (Noelle gave them a spare key to her house) and when they enter Holiday Manor, they see that a Dark World has been made inside of it, and so they enter, (Susie is incredibly worried about Noelle, and Kris is too since this wasn’t accounted for in them and Carol’s conspiracy)

They enter, meet up with Ralsei, (who is now experimenting with FireShock as an offensive spell). And come to the conclusion that the Knight somehow learned of their plan, and kidnapped Noelle and possibly the mayor as well (they’ve been kidnapping people with connection to the shelter after all, why wouldn’t they kidnap the mayor?)

They journey throughout the Dark World, with a lot of the Darkners offering cryptic warnings about Dess and Carol, with Susie getting more suspicious as the Chapter goes on.

The Ice Palace (name of the dark world) is filled with Puzzles in every corner, so you’ll have to stretch your mind to its limits. The first big segment of the Ice Palace is a forest with Candy Canes as trees, and is the most light-hearted part of the Dark World. After that is a really long Icy stairway leading up the Manor. Here, the angel doll made by Noelle and Dess will relentlessly attack the party, leading to several overworld bullet hell segments.

At the top of the Stairway, the party enters an actual battle with the Angel Doll, which you spare by repeatedly questioning it and its motives until it is tired enough for Ralsei or Susie to use either of their Pacifying spells. It will also utilize the Blue Soul mode.

After, the Angel Doll, in its warbled speech, will tell the Fun Gang that it wished to ward them from this place, but due to its limited intelligence, saw attacking them as the only way to get them to leave. The Fun Gang convince the Doll to guide them to Dess’s room. Along the way, the Doll talks about Dess’s disappearance, and rambles about the immediate aftermath and the impact on both the Holiday and Dreemurr Families. It becomes increasingly clear that the Doll is an incredibly nostalgic entity, similar to that of Tenna. Eventually, they make it to the Grand Door that represents Dess’s door, but before they can enter, the Knight appears, pushing The Fun Gang and the Angel Doll into Noelle’s room.

They enter a brief overworld bullet hell sequence before the Knight mercilessly slaughters the Angel Doll. Before it dies, the doll mutters, questioning why it had to be “you” (the knight) who killed them.

The Fun Gang, now fed up with the Knight’s bullshitery, start a rematch with the Knight.

The first phase of the rematch is just a slightly harder version of the Chapter 3 knight fight (only now it is mandatory) and if you don’t have a PureCrystal weapon, it’s the farthest you’ll go. If you don’t have a PureCrystal weapon, the fight will end when the Knight reaches 80% HP. The Knight will swoon the Party and they will wake up in the next area. (I’ll make it up later just read forward and you’ll find it)

If you do have a PureCrystal weapon, then the Knights special Defense will be ignored completely, causing you to reach 80% HP much easier. Then, the Knight will attempt to swoon the party, but Susie will counter their attack, and with her axe, parry their sword. The Party remembers the stakes. They remember all who have gone missing. They remember their friends that the Knight had harmed so greatly. If they have a chance to defy fate, to end it now, then they will take it. And the party is filled with POWER. No.. power isn’t the right word.. The Party is filled with DETERMINATION to end this tale once and for all.

From here on, the fight enters its phase 2, and the REAL rematch begins. The following Knight battle is one of Sans level difficulty, if not higher. The only methods of effective damage are the PureCrystal weapons, as well as the team-up spells RedBuster and CrimsonFire. The Knights attacks are unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and will likely take you a long time to beat. As their HP decreases, the knight becomes increasingly desperate and erratic, kind of the opposite of how Toriel works in Undertale, using more wild and heavy attacks as they are weakened more and more, with visible cracks appearing on their armor as the battle progresses. Kris will also begin to deal less damage, their reluctance even affecting the damage output of RedBuster and CrimsonFire. Oh, Susie and Ralsei are also immune to Swooning now.

But eventually, after a long and grueling battle, (and a final attack that should be considered a federal crime) the Fun Gang wins. Susie walks up to the wounded Knight, heavily injured herself, and attempts to take off their helmet, and in the background, Kris unsheathes their sword, preparing to prevent Susie from doing so. But before either of those things can happen, Noelle appears and The Party rushes to check on her. But while they are catching up, a figure cloaked in a blizzard slashes their blade at the Party, catching them off guard and heavily injuring Ralsei. The figure will use the Blizzard to cast Kris, Susie, and Noelle away.

The Party (Now Kris, Susie, and Noelle) wake up on Noelle’s bed, and now have to make it back to Dess’s room. When questioning what happened, the Party grapples with the idea that the Figure was Carol (it was) and Noelle REALLY dosent take it well. Nevertheless, they have to move onward.
If the party didn’t beat phase two of the Knight fight, Kris and Susie will awaken on their own and Noelle will find them there.

The following segment is really quiet and peaceful. Noelle, Susie, and Kris reflect on much things have changed since that Thursday (Chapter 1) and there’s a lot of fluffy Suselle scenes (as well as an implied kiss). Honestly, you need a break after that knight fight. However, it isn’t all fun and games in her room. If you get to Noelle’s computer and do some forgotten man bullshit (and have obtained the 5 eggs), you’ll end up in a place similar to the egg rooms, only this time, Susie and Noelle are with you and notice the change. After exploring this place, you’ll find a tree. Behind it, a dead man.

The party will be attacked by IMAGE_FRIEND, with Noelle specifically recognizing it. It is just a miniboss, but still rather difficult, and similar to the Knight, cannot be spared. Completing it and escaping will actively change the story later on.

The party then escapes Noelle’s room, and, faced with Dess’s door, the party marches in, ready for anything.

The Party have a short trek through Dess’s room, every memento offering warnings to the party about Carol. By the time we reach the Guitar Darkner, Noelle is a mess, confronted with all these memories of her sister, and the possibility that her mother could be evil.

Dess’s room itself is beautiful in the Dark World, as the entire area is illuminated by auroral lights.

The Party have a nice chat with the Guitar Darkner. However, as it is about to tell them the Holiday Code, someone takes them away. The Knight if you didn’t beat their Phase 2, and Carol if you did. The Party chases them down all the way to the Candy Cane Forest, where whoever entity you are fighting slices down most of the Trees. The other is also waiting here. If the Knight is the one waiting they will have been heavily injured.

Ralsei is also here, Frozen in a block of ice that looks suspiciously similar to the Berdly Ice block.

Carol, who reveals herself, attempts to convince Noelle over to her side, promising they can bring Dess back, but Noelle refuses, belittling her mother that she would do all these things just to bring back someone who is already gone.

Carol dosent say anything. She instead orders the Knight to take their helmet off, revealing Dess underneath. Noelle is obviously horrified and Carol explains. So way back when, IMAGE_FRIEND lured Kris and Dess to the bunker. While they were exploring w/ Noelle and Asriel, who were lured elsewhere. Dess entered a struggle with the creature and was horrendously injured. It took her within the shelter, and around then, Asgore found Kris (who was incredibly traumatized) and entered the shelter himself, discovering the Dark World. After Kris and Asgore returned without Dess, Carol entered the shelter herself using the codes and discovered the Dark World, as well as Dess, who had been twisted and shaped into the amalgamous creature known as the Knight. Carol learned a lot about the Dark World the through research papers scattered across the Shelter (left behind by a certain Royal Scientist) and devised a plan.

First, she recruited Kris to her side. Then she fired Asgore under the guise of it being because of his obsession and failure to find Dess, really it was just because he was a liability. Then, she learned that in order to restore Dess, she would have to stabilize her body via a substance recorded in the Shelter, one called DETERMINATION. Through her research, she learned that Dark Fountains were made partially of Determination, so Carol exposed Dess to various ones. This is how Castle Town was created. (Carol made Castle Town and Kris sealed most of the others she created) (the fact that the Grand Fountain has been around for years is why it is more important than the others)

However, Dess just became more unstable. Carol realized that she would have to use a lot more DETERMINATION. And so, she devised her plan to kidnap Asgore and Undyne, two of the most determined people she knows, also barring the fun gang from the shelter by kidnapping those with codes (Undyne, Asgore, and attempted Toriel and Alvin)

Her plan is to extract their DT, and use it to start the Roaring with Super Juiced up Dark Fountains.

Again, Carol asks Noelle to join her. She refuses, and Carol brings one last lore drop. Ralsei isn’t completely a Darkner. He was created with the Grand Fountain as a Darkner of Kris’s headband, but similarly to the Knight, grew in power with constant exposure to the dark, becoming a being with great power, with even the ability to transport itself from Dark World to Dark World. Carol informs us that Ralsei had become incredibly unstable as a Result of all the Fountains and will fail to control his power. Now, the ice sealing Ralsei is visibly shaking and cracking.

Carol and the Knight leave, telling Kris and Susie to stay out of their way (she plans for Kris to betray Susie later) and they take Noelle as Ralsei breaks free. There’s a really cool visual where Ralsei petrifies, and then the stone falls off him like the Dark Fountain that became a Titan in Chapter 4, and Ralsei, unable to control himself, becomes a Titan, and the Main Boss of Chapter 6, who you fight with just Kris and Susie.

Ralsei uses the new Aqua Soul mode in his fight. The fight itself is about as difficult as Undyne the Undyne I would say, but a lot more if Ralsei has a PureCrystal weapon. During the fight, Ralsei repeatedly mutters the Words on the Prophecy Panels. Kris and Susie will both refuse to attack Ralsei, and you beat him the same way you beat the Titan, using unleash multiple times (In this case, 5) before you can use ScytheMare to spare Ralsei, who utters the Final Prophecy just before defeat. It turns out to be smth like

“The cage has to betray the girl and kill her”

After Ralsei returns to normal, the Fun Gang have an incredibly emotional scene where they all promise each other that they won’t ever forget each other. Kris goes to seal the Fountain, and after they get the Holiday Code from the guitar, we have another Castle Town segment. However, It is mostly a goodbye to the people of Castle Town, as it is uncertain whether or not the Fun Gang will make it back. After saying their goodbyes, Kris and Susie enter a cutscene, where they march to the Shelter, reminiscing about all their adventures along the way. The chapter ends with Kris and Susie opening the Shelter doors and entering its Dark World.
