   Being a siren wasn’t exactly what was written about in the silly books she’d sometimes steal from the land dwellers. 

   They imagined them lounging about all day long, singing, and luring hapless sailors to their deaths. 

   They did do that, but they did other things too. 

   Right now for example she was spying a pair of sisters on a dinky craft, and was about to make her move to secure her next meal.

   Things only went downhill from there.
