“Well ain't this a nice surprise. What’re ya doin’ here, darlin'?” he asks as he adjusts the omega in his arms.
“Mmn… nngh…” Wise squirms in his hold and buries his head in Lighter's shoulder. The alpha smiles into soft gray hair at the endearing behavior.
“What's got ya feelin’ all shy, sugar?” He plants several kisses against Wise's temple.
“A-Ah, well…” The omega doesn't pull away and instead leans his head further onto Lighter's shoulder. “I started my pre-heat.”
Lighter, tired and on the verge of his annual rut, would like nothing more than to crash for the rest of the day. Too bad his (soon-to-be) mate has other plans for him instead.
