Varian and Hugo's Misadventures!

Summary:

Basically, Varian and Hugo are gay. But are both in denial and Hugo doesn't know how to flirt. Varian is a mess.

Notes:

This is nonsense. I wrote this in a letter to my platonic gf/bff who's like my sister because I love and am infuriated by her at the same time. Mostly the first one. (rehehehhe, I know you'll read this, said platonic gf. Don't worry. I'm still straight. Okay maybe I should shut up.) and it turned into this mess.

Chapter 1: When you conveniently run into your type- I mean, problems.

Summary:

Yay! A Varigo story! Idfk how many chapters this is gonna have. Spare me.
UH, basically, Varian can't follow rules and it turns gay.

Notes:

Don't yell at me. Please. It's been forever since I've written anything. Okay. Also, please comment and leave kudos if you liked this! I promise I'll reply to them (But I'll be at camp Aug 2-8 with no laptop or anything). And... this actually isn't angst. Damn. Varigo has changed me. And I fell of my bike earlier. My stomach was bleeding. Do you guys like BENOFTHEWEEK? Wait that's so off track.

Chapter Text

Varian was Bi.

He thought everyone knew. He was the weird kid.

He wore goggles to school, rambled too much, liked weird things, and was just too... awkward. And did I mention the goggles?

Either way, Varian wasn't actually looking for romance. After the disaster with Cassandra (a girl a year higher than him), he decided to cut off all romance. And it felt like a weight was lifted off of his chest. Life was easier. Everything seemed okay.

Until he ran into a problem.

Literally.

Varian had been running to chemistry (Mr. Flynn (he was supposed to be called Fitzherbert) was his favorite teacher) when he had basically tackled another freshman.

Like, asses hit the ground, books and papers went flying, and embarrassment bloomed hot on his face.

The boy he had knocked over was already picking up his own book and ignoring Varian completely.

Rude.

Varian scrambled to his knees, face a concerning shade of crimson. Of course, Varian would attempt (and fail) to ignore this later, mainly because the flush wasn't just from embarrassment.

Varian scooped up his book, finally registering the snickers of teens around him.

He felt bad. He'd run into this poor stranger and caused a scene. Now they were both being laughed at.

"Hey. Earth to goggles. Are you okay?"

Varian blinked, trying to register the question.

"Er- yeah! I'm fine. I think."

God, this was embarrassing. His voice had come out two octaves higher than it should have.

But the boy just shrugged. "Whatever. If you weren't, I still wouldn't care."

Varian stared in shock.

Excuse me?

Of course, Varian had heard worse. And frankly, he'd thought worse about varying people. But why did it annoy him so much coming from this blond stranger?

Varian scoffed, trying to regain his composure. "You cared enough to ask. A bit contradictive, don't you think?"

The boy rolled his eyes, pushing up his glasses, which had started to slide down his nose. "I was just being polite."

"If that was polite, I would hate to see your family dinners."

"I don't have a family for that. Now screw off."

With that happy note, he walked off.

Well, shit.

Now Varian felt shitty.

Sure, Mr. Tall, Blond, and Pretty was being rude, but why'd Varian feel like he was the one at fault now?
