   The True History the Maesters Buried:

   Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower were not rivals. They were lovers. Their love was the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy, the Song of Ice and Fire, which foretold that the union of Fire (Targaryen) and Ice (Hightower) would heal the world's ancient wound and save humanity from the White Walkers.
