Summary
"Yifu has something planned," Chang Geng surmises, and he's hit the nail on the head without batting an eye. Gu Yun internally cringes before mustering a smile that he plasters across his face.
"So now I'm your yifu? Brat, who raised you?" Gu Yun chastises, pulling one hand free so he can swat it on the back of Chang Geng's head. Of course, said brat doesn't flinch and only laughs, the sound melodic in the darkness creeping further into the courtyard where the braziers flicker in the wind.
"You did," Chang Geng replies, beaming at him, and the glimmer in his eyes is so bright it dims the way the bags under his eyes seem to sink them further into his head. Even the crow's feet lining the corners of his eyes sweetly doesn't seem to age him any more.
