Work Text:
Fun fact about Nagisa: He didn’t spend every lunch break with his other thieves. He liked to do it and did it often but he had other friends, as did Motoha. Shun sometimes needed to take time for himself and Riko was often busy with other responsibilities which made hanging out at all very difficult.
Today was one of those days where everyone was going their separate ways and Nagisa had plans to spend time in the music room, not for any particular reason, just for the sake of practice.
However, Nagisa wasn’t expecting to already be hearing the sound of music when approaching the club room, and certainly not from his instrument. Curious, Nagisa poked his head through then stared in complete disbelief of what he saw.
Himself, plucking idly at the strings, reciting melodies from his head.
Nagisa slipped in quietly and shut the door behind him, no one else needed to know that there were two.
“Wonder…?”
“I thought you’d be on the roof today.” The now confirmed White Mask said, not looking displeased or surprised in the slightest. “But instead you choose little old me?”
“What are you doing here?” Nagisa asked instead of responding to the clear bait. “Aren’t you worried about getting caught?”
White Mask huffed, “As long as we aren’t caught together, you’ll be fine. No one’s first thought is ever really the supernatural or fantastical. I just missed this place, I hope you don’t mind that I borrowed your uniform.”
He didn’t mind actually, part of him wanted White Mask to wear his clothes more often. “Well as long as you don’t stain or stretch it, and actually return it.” Tacking on that last part when he saw White Mask’s growing grin. “If you missed school so bad, care to do the rest of the day for me?”
“Hah! No.” White Mask snorted, “I’m not helping you cheat.”
“How kind and noble…”
“Aren’t I just?”
Silence fell between the two of them but Nagisa thought it was pretty comfortable.
White Mask continued strumming at the bass, he had a level of skill that Nagisa hadn’t gained yet. It was as clear as day, despite the piece being relatively simple.
It was rare to have a calm moment with him, it always felt like there was some form of excitement but right now… right now it was just the two of them. Hopefully they could have more moments like this in the future.
After a few more moments of playing, White Mask removed the bass strap and set the instrument down into its case. He looked at Nagisa, his expression softer than Nagisa had ever seen it. It made his skin crawl slightly and his fingers twitch. With no hesitation nor reluctance, Nagisa approached.
“Have you done this before?”
“A few times.” White Mask shrugged, “I’ve had a few people ask about my impossible ‘speed’ before, but no one has ever realised that there were two of me.”
Nagisa was now face to face with White Mask and got a boop to his nose for the trouble.
“No one’s noticed the different behaviour either?”
“I can put on a pretty convincing act.”
“Do you even respond to my name?”
“Our name.” White Mask corrected.
“Of course Nagisa,” he grinned, his own name feeling strange on his tongue. “Whatever you say.”
White Mask blinked in shock, his face quickly growing red and his stare intense. He grabbed Nagisa’s hands. “Call me—call me that again!”
“Huh…? Nagisa.” He tried. White Mask’s head dropped onto Nagisa’s shoulder.
“Beloved.” White Mask whispered, almost reverent in tone. He raised his head and cupped Nagisa’s face in his hands. “Nacchan, please?”
Nagisa’s heart caught up with the situation before his mind did. Hammering so hard that Nagisa could actually feel it move.
White Mask was so close and yet he was hesitating. Why? Surely it was obvious what they both wanted?
Grabbing both of White Mask’s hands, Nagisa pushed him to the wall. At the angle they were at Nagisa was practically looming over him. He could see White Mask’s eyes widen and jaw slack ever so slightly.
“Please?” Nagisa repeated, echoing White Mask’s words from earlier. “Nagisa, can I?”
Nagisa could see White Mask’s Adam’s Apple Bob in his throat as he nodded.
He leaned forward and took White Mask’s lips with his own.
It wasn’t some magical experience as some would describe but it was special in its own right.
Pushing White Mask against the wall, feeling him faintly tremble beneath him. Nagisa wanted more, his lungs were starting to burn and Nagisa still wanted more.
“Nacchan—!”
Nagisa didn’t let him speak, cutting him off with another kiss, turning whatever words White Mask wanted to say into choked down groans.
He couldn’t breathe.
“Nacchan, Beloved, wait.” White Mask managed to separate them again, spit coating his lips.
Nagisa didn’t want to wait though. He nuzzled into White Mask’s shoulder and eyed his neck.
“Are you sure?”
What a stupid question. Instead of answering verbally, Nagisa pressed a kiss to the little exposed patch of skin. Wet and open mouthed, sometimes lingering to cause a bruise. It wasn’t like anyone would see it but the two of them would know it was there and who caused it.
“Nagisa,” he muttered, delighted in the way White Mask shivered upon hearing his name. “Did you know that you’d also look very pretty in red?”
With no more warning, Nagisa let go of one of White Mask’s hands in order to push away some of the clothing neat White Mask’s neck, and bit down. He could feel his canines puncture his skin and the slightly salty and metallic taste that came right before blood.
He could hear White Mask do his best to force down a squeak but also feel him using his free hand to keep Nagisa down.
It was only after a few moments of biting down did White Mask’s grip loosen, allowing Nagisa to recapture his hand and face him again.
White Mask’s face was completely flushed and he was panting slightly. Nagisa idly wondered what kind of thoughts were running through his head for him to gain such an expression.
Nagisa kissed White Mask again, opening his mouth slightly so that White Mask could taste his own blood that got caught in Nagisa’s teeth. He didn’t attempt to pull them apart even when Nagisa’s lungs constricted. Good, Nagisa didn’t want him to.
They continued on like that, only ever separating when they absolutely had to. Nagisa didn’t want to be apart from White Mask, not now.
But all good things must come to an end.
While Nagisa could faintly hear the bell signaling lunch over ring, his mind refused to process it.
It was only when White Mask freed one hand to cover Nagisa’s mouth did his mind partially catch up with him. Though not completely, otherwise the temptation to ignore it likely wouldn’t have been there.
“Sorry Beloved, we can continue later.” White Mask cupped Nagisa’s face with one hand, rubbing his cheek with his thumb. Nagisa leaned into the touch.
“Will you be there when I get home?”
“Do you want me to be?”
Nagisa gave White Mask a look and nipped lightly at his neck. “I hope… I hope it’ll count as our second date.”
“You want my number that bad?” White Mask chuckled but seemed surprised.
“I don’t actually believe you have a phone.” Nagisa stated simply, “This is me telling you to get one before school ends.”
“Why? So you can call me over whenever you’re frustrated?” White Mask grinned and booped Nagisa’s nose.
“Would you like me to?” Nagisa raised White Mask’s head slightly and gave a quick peck on the corner of his mouth.
It certainly shut White Mask up, leaving him incapable of doing anything but stare.
Nagisa was going to take that as a win as he straightened up his uniform which admittedly, wasn’t really that messy, and wiped any drool or spit from his mouth.
Out of the two of them White Mask was the one who looked like a mess, though also not by much. Hopefully that would change after school.
“I’ll see you later, Nagisa.”
As he left Nagisa knew that he was never going to tire of the little blush White Mask gained whenever Nagisa called him by name.
