Work Text:

Shedletsky was slumped at his office chair, face down on the desk as he fiddled with the edges of some paperwork on his desk. The waves of the moonlight shining through the glass of the ROBLOX HQ's exterior into his office. The room hadn't been fully engulfed in the moon's mesmerizing light though, as a small desktop lamp was illuminating the wooden surface of Shedletsky's desk.

He lazily craned his head towards the clock on the wall.

6:30 pm.

An hour and a half until work ends! Thank 2x2! Shedletsky thought, anticipation and excitement evident in his facial expressions.

Wait. Why am I excited? I don't have anything to do after work. It's too late to go to sword fighting..

Shedletsky sighed, slowly pulling his head up, as he was rubbing the side of his head. It wouldn't hurt to ponder.. Would it?

He started to brainstorm some activites he could do. Or better yet, with the company of his friends. Suddenly, an idea came to mind... A suprisingly casual, yet fulfilling idea considering the fact that Shedletsky himself had brought it up. Stargazing! An exciting and fun activity! Builderman and Dusekkar wouldn't mind, would they?

Feeling proud of his idea, he shot up from his chair and dashed out his office door into the hallway of the ROBLOX HQ. Since the hallways of the HQ are unessecarily stretched out. It will take a while to reach Builderman's office, or the library. Shedletsky didn't care, as he was running out of time to ask. he sped through halls, passing various rooms on his floor. Most doors were closed, but he could see through some slightly agape spaces from other people who forgot to close the door completely. He would even come past an occasional office belonging to a fellow admin, but those were uncommon.

Lounges, offices', storage rooms.

Shedletsky also made sure to pay attention to the labels above the door, making sure not to run past either one of his destinations, as it has happened a numerous amount of times.

Finally, after what seems to be an endless amount of identical looking doors and unchanging labels, he found the door he was looking for. The text 'Builderman's office' stretched out across the golden plated label right above the towering, yet simple wooden door.

Without hesitation or a second thought, Shedletsky raised his foot aggresively and kicked the door. It fell to the floor inside of the office with a loud THUD! startling Builderman out of his trance with the heavy load of paperwork on his desk. Shedletsky casually strolled inside and started to sing out, despite Builderman sitting right infront of Shedletsky.

"HEYYYY BUILDERMAN!!" Shedletsky enthusiastically yelled, but before he could continue, Builderman shot him a death glare, eyes darkening as his face fell.

"John Shedletsky. What did I say about breakin' down my door."

Shedletsky caught himself before he could say anything. His eyes were wide open as he stared at Builderman in shock.

"Aha.. Uh.. Builderman?.." Shedletsky chuckled nervously.

"You heard me. Now, apologize." Builderman deadpanned.

"Uhm... Uh."

"Are ya seriously unable to simply say a single word?!"

"Ugh... Sorry, Builderman."

"Good. Now swear to me you will never break down another door again."

"..."

"...Or I'll make sure to prevent ya from going to SFOTH for atleast a year."

"NO!! BUILDER PLEASE-"

"Then promise."

"..."

Just as Shedletsky was about to promise, a certain blue pumpkin headed mage floated into the room, considering that the door was on the ground. Dusekkar stared at the two in silence, before coming up with a rhyme.

"The barrier falls, the voices rise, what brings this shock to guilty eyes?"

Shedletsky spun around to face the mage. Before he could utter a word, Builderman cut him off.

"Ya'll could hear the argument out there because SOMEONE thought it would be fun to break down my door." Builderman spoke sternly with a hint of annoyance in his tone as he shot Shedletsky a dirty look. Shedletsky's eyes darted to the left guiltily.

Dusekkar heavily sighed before turning to Shedletsky, preparing to ask a question.

"Your chaotic tongue has caused a plight, what is it you seek from us tonight?" Dusekkar casually inquired, holding his staff closer to his body as Builderman scoffed silently. Shedletsky perked up erratically as soon as the last word had been said.

"OH YEAH!" He exclaimed, whipping his body around to face Builderman, who was now burying his face in his hands in exhaustion.

"BUILDERMAN!! Do you want to go stargazing??"

"..."

Builderman pondered for a bit. He was hesitant.

Why would I want to go stargazin'? We have a deadline next week..

Builderman glanced at the clock, still deep in thought. It was 7:18 pm Shedletsky was watching him with a pleading look in his eyes. Dusekkar observed silently and expectantly.

...Well. it wouldn't hurt to take a little break.

Builderman sighed wearily, tilting his head up to look at Shedletsky, who was subtly bouncing in excitement.

"Alright. I guess we could g-" Builderman was cut off almost instantaneously by a loud and enthusiastic Shedletsky

"YES!!" Shedletsky squealed, whipping around to face Dusekkar, who was absentmindedly fiddling with the tip of his staff.

"MATT! COME WITH US!!" Shedletsky boisterously called out, despite Dusekkar leaning against the doorway to Builderman's office.

Dusekkar turned his head to look at Builderman, who gave a silent but encouraging nod. He turned his focus back to Shedletsky, who was still waiting patiently for an answer.

"The cosmos calls, the lanterns fade, I shall join this march you’ve made." Dusekkar smiled warmly as Shedletsky let out a loud, high-pitched but ecstatic shriek.

"YAAAY! WE ARE GONNA SEE STAAAARS!!" Shedletsky exclaimed in a sing-song voice.

"You can actually already see the stars through the windows-" Builderman started, but was cut off by another loud statement made by the swordsman.

"NO TIME FOR THAT, BUILDER!! Meet me outside the HQ after work!! Someone bring a picnic blanket for us to sit on!!!" With that, Shedletsky sprinted out of the room, Dusekkar having to almost immediatly move out of the way of Shedletsky as he sped down the hall to his own office.

Builderman was trying to process what had happened when he turned to Dusekkar. He seemed to have the exact same thoughts as him.

"Huh.." Builderman finally uttered after a long and awkward silence.

"He runs ahead without a care, I'll bring the blanket we shall share." Dusekkar pitched in to respond to what Shedletsky yelled about earlier.

"Alright." Builderman simply responded

"It's 8:05 pm.. Where are they.." Shedletsky sighed impatiently as he paced back and forth on the pathway leading up to the main entrance of the ROBLOX HQ.

He was starting to get worried. Did they not want to hang out with him? Did he say something wrong?

(Author's Note: Calm down bro its only been 5 minutes😭)

"Snap out of those thoughts!" Shedletsky yelped, trying to forget his doubtful and intrusive thoughts.

"They would never ghost me.. Would they?.." Shedletsky stopped his pacing as he stared down at the concrete surface he was standing on, taking in the cool night air.

Just as his thoughts could spiral further, he heard a familiar voice just up ahead.

"GUYS OVER HERE!!" Shedletsky hollered, waving his arm erratically in the air in an attempt to get his friends to see him despite them being only a few feet ahead, relief and happiness evident in his voice.

Builderman simply blinked, while Dusekkar heavily sighed, but they continued to walk towards Shedletsky who was now sprinting up to them at an unnaturally fast pace. Shedletsky abruptly halted his movements a foot away from them, as the duo made up the remaining distance.

"Alright, Shed. Where do ya wanna to go for this?" Builderman questioned, tucking the rolled up picnic blanket from Dusekkar under his arm as he adjusted his TBC hard hat. Shedletsky perked up excitedly, already having the perfect spot in mind.

"I KNOW!! Theres a nice hill I know close to my favorite chicken resturant!!" Shedletsky proudly stated. He turned to Dusekkar to say something else.

"Matt!! Do you think you could use your awesome mage powers to teleport us there??" Shedletsky pleaded, with a glint of hope shining in his eyes.

Dusekkar silently nodded, before starting to spin his staff around and make certain movements with it that only someone who clearly practiced the action over and over again could do fluently.

He tapped the bottom tip of his staff on the ground once to complete the action. A soft blue light started to emanate from the tip of his staff. It started to dance and twirl around the trio, before an extremely bright light engulfed their vision, teleporting them away to the place Shedletsky was talking about.

Shedletsky and even Builderman had to squint from the blinding flash of light from the teleportation spell, while Dusekkar was completely unfazed. As their vision adjusted, Dusekkar scanned the surrounding: the chicken resturant, trees, cars..

His gaze then settled on a hill in the distance—quiet, calm and pleasing. Dusekkar pointed a finger toward the hill and started to speak with his usual collected and poetic voice.

"Beyond the noise, beneath the crest, lies the green hill where we shall rest." he mused softly.

Shedletsky’s eyes widened immediately. Completely forgetting the sting of the flash, he dashed toward the hill. Builderman groaned in annoyance as Dusekkar scratched the side of his pumpkin head.

"Let's get goin, I guess." Builderman tightened his grip on the picnic blanket, holding it closer to his body as he started to walk, Dusekkar following close behind.

They strolled past the chicken resturant to the same hill Shedletsky dashed off too. The moon was calming and a gentle breeze stirred the grass. As they gradually got closer, they could finally see Shedletsky's sillhouete ontop of the hill, waving estatically while calling out to them.

"UP HERE!!" Shedletsky whooped, as he started to jump up and down.

Builderman and Dusekkar continued to move towards the hill, once they reached it, they started to climb it. The hill itself isn't steep, but it is somewhat large. Builderman struggled to climb the hill due to his height, so Dusekkar had to teleport them there.

Builderman was flashbanged by the light once again, while Dusekkar turned his head to look up at the stars.

Shedletsky did the same and looked up. Boy, they were beautiful.

The dark, cool sky of the night was dusted with what seems to be more than a million stars. The stars shimmered like a glittery piece of art, shining brightly.

Builderman rubbed his eyes as he tossed the picnic blanket on the grass. He knelt down and started to roll it out into a flat but comfy piece of fabric. He shifted his body to lay in the middle of the blanket, his head resting on his hands.

Shedletsky dropped down on his left, limbs lazily sprawled about as he focused his fixation entirely on the stars in the sky.

Dusekkar sat down on his right, setting his staff on the ground next to him, but also close enough to quickly grab incase of an event. He reclined his body into a laying position, with his arms folded over his torso as he looked up at the stars aswell.

After a peaceful moment of silence, Shedletsky frantically pointed at the sky and started to shout something.

"LOOK UP THERE!! THAT STARS IN THE SHAPE OF UHhh... Kite?.." Shedletsky stammered, trying to describe the constellation as he squinted his eyes.

Builderman giggled silently before turning to Dusekkar.

"Look closer still, discard the string, it is a hunter, not a winged thing. He guards the cold and silent skies, with armor made of burning eyes." Dusekkar informed, while also intentionally leaving out the name of the constellation, setting up another unhinged guess from Shedletsky.

"OHH! I KNOW THE NAME!! It's the diamond warrior!!" Shedletsky proudly exclaims, while Builderman was holding his hand over his mouth, in an attempt to hold in his laughter.

Dusekkar smiled slightly at the sight of his friends having a delightful time.

"Wh- Hey!! I'll get the name this time!!" Shedletsky stated, crossing his arms and pouting playfully like a child.

"Your pride is high, your vision bold, yet that is not the name of old. The target missed, the arrow strayed—do you require another aid?" Dusekkar's voice held a playful edge, as Shedletsky started to frantically shake his head in response.

"Nononono," Shedletsky stuttered frantically.

"I got this, guys!! The name is... onion!! Onion the warrior!!"

At this point, Builderman couldn't hold in his laughter, as he started to burst out cackling, elbowing a slightly offended Shedletsky.

"AHh! My feelings!!" Shedletsky dramatically sighed while holding a hand to his forehead, turning away while also laughing slightly.

The whole event even got a slight chuckle out of Dusekkar.

"Alright, alright," Builderman started after the laughter settled.

"What's your last guess?"

"Hmm... I KNOW I KNOW!! It's apple the finder-" Before Shedletsky could finish his guess, he was cut off by a loud holler from Builderman.

"APPLE THE FINDER!!" He laughed hysterically, putting a hand on his hard hat to prevent it from falling as his shoulders shook.

Dusekkar started laughing silently as he prepared to tell Shedletsky the actual name.

"From diamond shields to grocery lists, the real truth fades among the mists. No fruit or root within this zone—Orion claims the starry throne."

"OHHHH!!!!" Shedletsky finally realized.

"Yeah, I knew that!! I just wanted to see if you guys knew what it was!" Shedletsky proudly exclaimed.

"Suuure you did.." Builderman said in a teasing tone after the laughter died down once again.

"...H-how about you guess the name of the next one!!" Shedletsky playfully demanded, pointing at another constellation in the shape of a deformed pentagon.

"Hmm.." Builderman muttered.

"Oh. Its Auriga." Builderman simply said while shrugging.

"No guessing games or foolish pride, you see the truth the heavens hide. Correct you are, the pattern gleams, across the chariot of dreams." Dusekkar calmy confirmed, while Shedletsky was staring with eyes wide open.

"HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT!?!?" Shedletsky shrieked, dumbfounded.

"Dusekkar taught me." Builderman chuckled like it was normal.

"While you were chasing swords and games, we sat and learned the cosmic names. A patient mind is what it takes, to learn the map the starlight makes."

Dusekkar mused, a slight hint of irony in his voice.

"Wh- MATT HOW DID YOU TEACH BUILDERMAN ABOUT STARS?!?-"

Notes:

I tried not to make the whole plot revolve around Dusekkar. (Me when I lie) anyways
