Work Header

what cannot be seen can still be felt

Summary:

Later on, Flux finds himself awake, Saps on the floor at the bedside, his head resting on one his arms asleep, holding onto Flux's hand like it was his life's mission. The sun weaves it's way through his white hair like they were always intertwined, a match made in heaven some would say. Flux doesn't dare wake him up. For the first time in what feels like years, Saps looks at peace.

Chapter 1: Chapter Zero

Chapter Text

"Yo! I'm home!" and there it was. The loud obnoxious voice Fluixon had been waiting to hear all day.

Flux knew exactly who was at the door, but he couldn't expect what he was about to hear out of Saparata's mouth today.

"uh…Flux.." he sounded like his whole world had ended.

"Bro just come though the door." Flux shot back nearly instantly after.

"I lost my key.."

"Seriously?"

"Serious.."

One hundred thoughts were racing through Flux's mind at that point. What if somebody now had Saps' key and could get into their apartment? What if getting Saps a new key was super difficult? What if-

"Can you let me in now..?"

Right! Saps was still locked outside. Flux stood up from the couch and walked a short distance towards the door, unlocked it, and was almost taken off his feet as Saps pulled him into one of those Auntie hugs you can't escape from.

"Can you like.. let go now? ..Saps?"

"Yeah man?" Saps had such a way with saying words that brought such rage into Flux that he couldn't tell if he wanted to punch or kiss him.

"Don't 'yeah man' me"

"I'll do whatever I like with you."

"What the fuck bro no homo"

"Dude, we are gay."

"I refuse."

Many hours later, after watching more television than either would like to admit, Flux's stomach starts to growl.

"Damn dude did you eat like at all"

"I had tea this morning."

"I watched you make that it was 6:54 AM right before your 3 back to back scheduled classes."

"I don't see the point you're making, Saps."

Wordlessly, Saps stand up from their couch and walks over to the kitchen, opening the fridge scanning for something from the recent week to cook. Non-surprisingly to anybody, he's way better of a chef than Flux. Which is surprising to hear if you heard the fire alarm going off. Wait. The fire alarm is going off.

"Saps? You okay in there buddy?" Flux knows he's not, Saps better at cooking then this. He must be tired, coming home after so many classes. Frame one he knows something's not right. But Flux ignores it.

"Dude what are you doing? You never set the alarm off like this. Come on Saps lock in" He begins standing up and walking towards the kitchen, but being a dehydrated, 'tactically underfed' architecture student catches up to poor little Flux. He stumbles over his feet a bit, vision cloudy.

Saps catches him effortlessly, setting down something Flux doesn't quite catch before passing out.

"Well fuck man I guess I'm not cooking?"

Saps carries Flux back to their bedroom with practiced efficiency, as you can expect by now this isn't his first rodeo.

"..Hello….?" Oh he's awake. Flux had been staring at the way sunlight danced across Saps' sleeping figure for who knows how long. He's finally brought back to reality.

"Good morning, sleepyhead."

"My everything hurts, why didn't you wake me up?"

Fluixon was not about to tell Saps he was busy staring at him while he slept, so he opts for one of his usual lies. "I thought it was a fitting punishment. You setting off the fire alarm and all."

"I did what?"

Now this was weird. Saps has a good memory. It's something he brags about whenever Flux says something inaccurate. He must really be tired.

"Saps come here."

He obliges immediately, standing up and climbing over Flux's body to get on their bed.

"What's up?" He says it so casually, Flux wants to slap the shit out of him. He opts for a pillow thrown at his face.

"Go to bed, you're weird today and I don't like it."

"Whatever you say man."

And Saps does exactly what Flux asks again.
