Work Text:
you hadn't seen colt in over four months, video calls only doing so much to tide over the desperate ache in your chest that came with missing your lover. you'd always been told long distance was hard, you just hadn't realised how hard until you were experiencing it yourself. you missed waking up next to colt, his body warm against your back, the quiet laughter while making breakfast, how he always just opened his arms for you to fall into after you came home from work. it was as if a piece of your heart was missing when he was away. but that piece was returning, which was why you were so frazzled at the moment.
work had been shit, as usual, and without colt to cheer you up you were just grumpy. only the thought of the man coming home in the next two days cheered you up, even then it was only a little. neither of you had had the time to call the past week, you caught up with work, colt caught up with finishing up stunts since "tom kept whinging about them" according to him. only the occasional text was sent, the usual "good morning/night" and brief daily updates.
even with how terrible your days were, you knew colt had it worse with tom making his life miserable on set, so you wanted to do something nice for him when he came home. you knew that this movie especially was taking a longer time to shoot which is why he had remained on set for so long. you knew the only thing that would cheer you up after months of putting up with that bullshit would be a nice home cooked meal (but that was just you), even still you thought colt would appreciate it as well. the man had always been open about how much he loved your cooking.

the day had arrived. colt was finally coming home. you were jittery with nervous energy the whole day, bursting at the seams to finally see the love of your life after so long. all your co-workers had picked up on your excitement and kept exchanging bemused looks all day as you hummed to yourself. even your students had noticed your significantly brighter mood after months of being slightly bummed all day. they had whispered amongst themselves all day, but you were too lost in your bubble of happiness to bother to tell them off. ryland had popped into your class at lunch, the same brand of happiness lighting up his face, he'd missed his brother, even if he'd never admit it to anyone but you (which was only admitted under duress).
the two of you sat at your desk, you happily daydreaming while staring out the window, ryland marking papers while neglecting his own lunch. you turned to him, making him blink at you in surprise when you poked him with your shoe. "yes?" he asked, bemused. you wriggled a little in your seat so you wouldn't slide out of it, "is colt allergic to anything? and before you make a snarky comment about how we've been dating for a few years and i should know this. don't. that man is useless." ryland snorted quietly, shoving his glasses up his face and putting his pen down, "i don't think he'd appreciate the name calling. it'd crush his heart," his voice had a teasing tone to it before he continued, "but he isn't allergic to anything other than not getting attention." you chuckled, spinning away from the desk once again, "what if he doesn't like my food? what if, after months away, he's decided to change his tastes?"
ryland lobbed a pen at your head, making you look up indignantly and toss if back, hitting him square in the forehead. you laughed as he rubbed the sore spot, "what i was going to say before you assaulted me-" you scoffed, "you started it" he gave you an unimpressed look before continuing, "what i was trying to say is that colt is so in love with you. he talks about you non-stop. it gets to a point. but you could feed him literal garbage, and he'd be happy because you gave it to him. so, stop worrying and let me finish marking these papers. theo's been asking me about them every class."
you sighed and picked your lunch box back up, spinning back to your window perch, "carry on nerd." ryland made a noise you assumed was meant to convey annoyance, but ultimately ignored you.

you darted around the kitchen, making sure everything as going smoothly. you wanted this meal to blow colt's mind, which meant you had to not let your mind wander and accidently burn the food as you had done before. that was a long night. the radio was playing softly in the background, and you hummed quietly along as you stirred the sauce.
you had set aside the pasta to cool in a large bowl colt had bought you for your six-month anniversary. he said the blue reminded him of your personality and the stars tracing the side reminded him of your smile. you smiled softly at the memory, sliding a finger along the rim. god you really missed him.
so lost in your daze of memories, absentmindedly poking at the saucepan, you didn't hear the sound of colt's key in the door nor his entrance.
colt dropped his bag in your entryway, pouting a little when you didn't run out to him like you usually would. his shoulders dropped a little, kicking his shoes off and wondering where you possibly could be. the two of you had been desperate to see each other after so long, colt practically vibrating with energy the whole plane journey home. the last message you had sent him was wishing him a safe flight. he tossed his jacket over the back of your couch, running a hand through his already mussed up hair.
he padded quietly through your apartment, letting the smell of your perfume wash over him. god he'd missed you so much. video calls had done nothing to soothe the need he had for you. he had resorted to burying his face in the clothes he had stolen from your wardrobe, just to keep your scent with him. the smell of your perfume had long since worn off, leaving only the scent of his own body.
as he got further into the apartment he heard the soft sound of the radio and your quiet voice singing along. a smile grew on his face; shit he'd missed your singing almost as much as he had missed you. he leaned against the doorway to the kitchen, folding his arms as he watched you sway in time to the music, your jeans hugging the curve of your hips and your shirt riding up against your waist from where you had been messing with the hem. the fire in colt's stomach lit up as his eyes slid over your figure.
he stepped into the room, his footsteps muffled by the music, until he was close enough to slide his arms around your waist, pressing his nose into your neck and leaving soft open-mouthed kisses up to your ear, "hi pretty girl" you startled slightly as he leaned into you, your body relaxing into him as he started to kiss your neck, "colt-" he hummed into your neck, his teeth pressing light indents into your pulse point, "you didn't come to the door." you felt him pout against your shoulder and you glanced back at him, his blue eyes wide and round.
you turned in his arms, sliding your own arms around his neck pulling him into a kiss. he made a soft noise in the back of his throat before kissing you back with just as much enthusiasm. your fingers tangled in his blond lock, tugging gently as he pulled away for a breath, "god i missed you so much. video calls don't do justice to your beauty." you huffed a soft laugh against his mouth, "i missed you too pretty boy. i made you dinner." he pressed his forehead against yours, his hands sliding down to catch your belt loops and pull you closer, his knee sliding between your thighs, "it smells amazing...but there's something i think would be more deli- " you cut him off by tugging him down against your mouth, "shut up colt and just kiss me." he laughed and obliged.

you were gasping into colt's mouth, his fingers dipping into your jeans, your hips rocking against his thigh, "colt- please- " you whimpered against his mouth. colt groaned as you rocked against him, his hips pressed against yours, letting you feel his want, "sweetheart- mmph" you pulled back, panting slightly, your mouth swollen and pink, your eyes hazy with desire. colt wasn't in much better shape, his hair mussed up from where you had tugged at it, a similar desire in his eyes, "why'd you stop sweetheart?" he brushed a strand of hair off your face, his fingers lingering on your cheek before he dropped them to adjust his jeans, which had become increasingly tight in the past ten minutes. you leaned into his touch before you shook your head to clear your head as the smell of smoke filled your nose, "the sauce- colt it's burning!" you hopped off the counter colt had put you on, rushing to turn the stove off.
you had saved your sauce, only the bottom burnt, but you were still bummed out, your shoulders slumping as colt slid his arms round your hips, pressing a kiss to your temple. "it's okay sweetheart, it's not totally ruined. we can still eat it, i'm sure it's delicious like everything you make." you leaned back into him, your head tipped against his shoulder, "i just wanted to make something without it burning. i wanted it to be nice for you…" colt turned you round to face him, cupping your face and leaning down to be eye level, "i'm happy with just you, whether you made a delicious meal or not. and you gave me the best welcome home," his mouth ticked up into a smirk, "but we are going to eat your meal and then i'm going to eat you." he smiled sunnily down at you as heat rose up in your cheeks, the tips of your ears burning.
the two of you sat at your kitchen table, steaming bowls of pasta in front of you. colt grinned at you poking at his bowl with his fork, "see i told you it'd be fine" you kicked his shin under the table, "don't gloat, asshole." he faux-pouted, "is that how you treat your poor boyfriend who's missed you all these months?" you rolled your eyes, starting to eat, "i know just how much you missed me. it's why my sauce got burnt."
colt shook his head fondly, following your lead and digging in, his eyes lighting up with the first bite, "holy shit- this is so good" his voice was muffled by the food in his mouth. you beamed at him, your frame visibly lighter, "i'm glad." the two of you finished the meal in a comfortable silence, it only being broken with colt's stories from set and your classroom gossip. the clinking of forks in empty bowls soon echoed, colt grabbing your empty bowl and taking it to the kitchen before you could protest.
you sat back against your chair, rubbing a hand over your full stomach before you got up to help colt wash up.
the blond was humming quietly along to the radio as he scrubbed the bowls. you slipped up behind him, wrapping your arms round his waist and tucking your head into his side, "leave the dishes colt, dance with me" colt turned, spinning you in his arms as he reached to turn the music up, "oh yeah? you missed dancing in the kitchen with me?" you slid your arms around his neck, "'course i did. it's much less fun dancing alone, plus who would dip me?" colt chuckled before twirling you into a dip, "good thing i'm back to dance then."
the two of you swayed silently, letting the music guide you. you rested your face on colt's shoulder, gazing up sideways at him, he huffed a quiet laugh turning to look down at you, his expression softening when he saw the gentle look in your eyes, “i love you, you know that. so much.” you smiled up at him, tilting back to look at him fully, “love you more. so much so I let you distract me and burnt my sauce,” you laughed, reaching for his face. colt chuckled letting you pull him down, his eyes dropping to your mouth before you kissed him.
The music seemed to fade into the background as colt kissed you softly, his hands sliding up your back to press you against him. your hands slip down the hard planes of his chest, gripping his shirt. he pushed you back till you hit the counter, you let go of his shirt to grab the counter. colt pulled back just enough to whisper, “jump” you did, his hands coming up to grip your thighs and put you on the counter so he could step between your legs. you wrapped your legs around his hips, tugging him closer.
his hands move to your hair, tipping your head back so he can kiss you easier, biting at your bottom lip before soothing it over with his tongue. you groaned into his mouth, giving him the perfect opportunity to lick into your mouth, a shared moan escaping the two of you. his fingers were tugging at your shirt, struggling to get it off, while you scrabbled at his belt, yanking it off just as he got your shirt unbuttoned, his hand sliding up your back to unhook your bra.
you gasped as his mouth trailed down your chest, sucking a mark there. Your head tipped back, hitting a cabinet making you wince and tug colt’s hair, “colt- not here. bedroom.” colt grinned against your skin, his warm breath making you shiver, “gladly,” he picked you up, his arms firmly under your thighs, your legs firmly locked at his back. you leave a trail of clothes behind before you reach your shared bedroom.
colt tosses you onto the mattress, you bounce slightly before he’s back on top of you, caging you in. you arch up into him as he reattaches his mouth to your neck, his tongue moving over every place his teeth leave marks. he groans lowly against your skin. you bury your face into his neck, leaving a trail of kisses along there, making colt whimper as you reach his pulse point. you grin against his skin, "so sensitive…" he gasps as you bite down slightly, “god babe...” your grin widens as you move over his broad shoulder, sucking marks into the skin. you sink your teeth into the muscle as colt grips your hips to align you to his hard length, notching himself at your entrance with a groan.
you whimper as he grinds against you. colt pauses his ministrations to press a gentle kiss to your cheek, “you okay? can i continue?” he looks down at you with bitten lips an puppy dog eyes, filled with concern and desire. you swallow nervously, your hand coming up to cup his face, “i don’t want you to stop just…can we take it slow? it’s been a while. i couldn’t uhm-“ you look away, cheeks flushed in embarrassment. colt tilted your face back up to face him, “couldn’t what, sweetheart? get yourself off?” you nodded, teeth poking out to bite at your bottom lip, “it wasn’t the same without you.” he nuzzles into your cheek, "we can go slow." you let out a breath, threading your finger through his hair, pulling him into a soft kiss.

you lay in colt's arms, his face buried in your messed up hair, his hands skirting over your curves, making you shiver. you're both covered in a light sheen of sweat, lips swollen and a pleasant ache between your thighs. "that was amazing, i've missed that so much." colt murmured into your hair, making you look up at him. "just that?" you arched an eyebrow, tracing a finger over the trail of bite marks you'd left in your wake. colt rolls his eyes, "you know what i meant sweetheart," he rolls onto his back, taking you with him. you rested your head back on his chest, "i know." he ran a gentle hand down your back before pulling the covers up over the both of you. he kissed the top of your head, "love you." you smiled against his skin, "love you too."
