Notes:

So I had the idea for this fanfic for a LONG time now, ever since I read up on MHA lore, but a combo of laziness and writer's block stopped me from doing anything with it lol

Keep in mind this is like my second ever fanfiction so pls go easy on me... criticism is much appreciated!

(P.S, text in bold is read in Present Mic's voice lol)

Chapter 1: Prolouge

Chapter Text

Alright, I'm sure you know the story by now.

Sometime in the early 21st century, a baby was born in Qing Qing City, China. This baby was especially exceptional by the fact it held a Quirk, one that illuminated the very hospital room it was brought to the world in. After this, more and more people starting showing up with quirks, sending us into a superhuman society, yadda yadda yadda.

What most people don't know however, is that during this time period, when quirks first started to appear, the world was in utter chaos. In the years that followed the appearance of the first quirk user, pandemonium broke out all over the world, with most people going wild with their newfound abilities, regardless of their own volition. To make matters worse, those who didn't posses a quirk began to shun those who did, causing riots and mobs to break out all over the world. All of this enabling villainany to grow among the chaos.

As a result, destruction and tyranny had become the norm.

So, seeing all of this, some groups of people decided to take it upon themselves to try and bring some order back into a lawless world. They went out on the streets, in costumes and gear they made themselves, and began cracking down on villain activity, protecting their communities where and when officials couldn't. They were seen a symbol of hope during the period of uncertainty the dawn of quirks brought...

...this begun the Age of Vigilantes.

By then, vigilantism had made itself known all over the world, but it had an especially strong presence in the west. Back then, in the US, the police force was too weak to take on villain activity and the government ruled out sending in the military since that wouldve been overkill and a waste of resources, yet the region's Vigilantes were surprisingly effective taking down quirk-related disasters and taking down villain organizations. The government had turned a blind eye to vigilantism, since obviously none of this was exactly legal, but eventually that would change...

Taking note of their said effectiveness and popularity with society this gave a small handful of governers the incentive to move forward with a crazy idea: legalizing vigilantes.

Eventually, the plan got into motion. The Vigilantes Act was first drafted by Rhode Island officials, and the stature was put into practice a year later in the state. Famously, when the state's governers had to process which vigilantes were elegable for legalization, only 7 out of all 189 vigilants in the region initially made the cut to become "pro heroes".

More and more vigilantes and would-be ones signed up to be pro heroes, and eventually the stature spread to all the other states across the country. Natually, other countries began to take wind of this and starting devolping their own pro hero stature, with Canada, Mexico, Russia, Germany, Brazil, and Japan being the first ones to do so.

The plan was a worldwide success and kicked off the era we all know and love; The Age of Heroes.

This era gave birth to a lot of famous names from around the world, from Russia's alchemy hero Red Star to the UK's top hero Pegasus, and of course, the world's symbol of peace himself: All Might!

Now that I've bored you with the history lesson, I think it's time I switched gears.

I'm sure you know the story about how Izuku Midoriya became the world's next symbol of peace, and as ledgendary a tale that was, you deserve to know a different story. Back when the symbol of peace was still the symbol of peace, and almost everyone got a little too cocky taking that for granted.

This is the story about how one person had to remind one world what it truly meant to be a hero!

Notes:

Well that's the prolouge done! I originally intended for this and the next chapter to be one big "chapter 1", I decided that's a bit too much for me given my current skills rn lol. Lemme know what you think of the premise and don't be afraid to give constructive criticism lmao!

Stay tuned for the next chapter, "Wily Clydesdale: Origin"!
