Summary
With Lucifer joining in to help at the hotel, and stepping into Lilith's position in Pride to oversee the Overlords, the King must force himself into interacting with Hell's worst - particularly the Radio Demon. As they fight and bicker at the hotel, it becomes less animosity, and more a game. From that game, feelings develop. Hesitant to present themselves to even those closest to them, Lucifer and Alastor find a balance and comfort in their secret relationship as they work through the obstacles of their own emotions. Neither think much of it, dismissing the signs and frustrations of having carefully curated masks they need to wear. It works. Until it doesn't.
During a party that Lucifer would never have attended, the king finds out that someone else might be trying to get Alastor's attention. Likely had been for a long time. Hearing the off hand comments, and seeing that unwanted attention first hand makes golden blood boil, but there is nothing he can do in public. Alastor learns the depths of his own jealousy and insecurities as his need for attention and reassurance of his position are shot down. Whether they like it or not, these feelings need to be met head on and remind each other who they belong to now.
