Work Text:
Nahuel barely noticed the Spanish guys running into him, right as the final whistle sounded, destroying their dream of winning back to back championships.
What he did notice was Leandro charging at them though. The Alpha looked ready to kill someone. He had looked ready to kill someone the whole game, but now it was as if a switch inside him had flipped.
Oh shit, the Beta thought, when he saw the unmistakable red hue around his eyes. He's gone completely feral.
For a moment Nahuel was glad he wasn't one of the Omegas of the team. If they had touched one of them, surely Leandro would have ripped off their head by now. He still might.
Gently Nahuel tried to put an arm around Leandro, not restraining him — he also didn't want to die —, but hopefully enough to hold him off until the others noticed.
Thiago appeared next to him, also wrapping a hand around Leandro's wrist. But the Alpha just growled at them, fangs fully on display.
"Fuck. What is going on with him?"
Oh great, Thiago had never dealt with a feral Alpha before? They definitely needed an omega — soon.
Nahuel grunted. "He's feral. We need—" he couldn't continue because suddenly another Spanish player had arrived at the scene and — was this guy suicidal?! — punched Leandro in the chest from behind. Nahuel caught a whiff of young, but angry Alpha.
Oh FUCK!
Leandro whipped around grabbing Gavi — of course it was Gavi — by the shirt, snarling with a voice so Alpha that even both Argentine Betas had to take a deep breath to suppress their instincts to submit. He punched Gavi square on the face, wrestling him to the ground.
Almost desperately now, only caring that Leandro didn't actually kill the kid, Nahuel ordered Thiago to just get him away from him. The small Beta plastered himself completely to Leandro's back, pulling at him with all his strength, but he had no chance against the Alpha.
Meanwhile Nahuel managed to make eye contact with Scaloni and Pablo, who both realised what was going on and came sprinted over.
Finally there was an Omega to calm him down. Pablo may only be half part of their pack, as Scaloni's mate. The technical team pack existing adjacent to La Scaloneta, with Lionel Scaloni acting as bridging Alpha between them, but it was better than no Omega at all.
He bodily put himself between Leandro and Gavi, finally creating some distance between them. Nahuel used the opportunity to pull Gavi further away, while Scaloni dealt with the rest of the Spaniards.
"I get that you love to fight, but to charge at a clearly feral Alpha… I hope you know how close he was to actually snapping your neck." Nahuel tried not to snarl as well.
Gavi looked at him with wide eyes as if he only just realised what he had just done.
"Oh god, I'm sorry…"
"Just go celebrate your win or something, stay away from him and don't start any more fights."
The young Alpha nodded and finally made his way over to his own team, one of their medics immediately fussing over his face. Hopefully he had learned his lesson now.

The whole game Leandro had felt on edge. The dressing room had felt tense somehow, unusually so. It was as if nobody dared to even breathe. Leo had briefly scented the Alphas in the starting eleven, but his scent of freshly cut grass and yerba mate had felt… heavier somehow and it had thrown off the whole team.
Julian and Licha had tried to counteract the heavy scent a bit, but as Pack Omega, Leo's scent always won out.
Leandro wasn't always proud of it, but he knew he reacted very sensitive to changes in the mood of the pack, and this kind of tension before a game immediately made his vision narrow and take on the slightly red tint typical for feral Alphas.
He spent the entire first half hiding himself behind Nico Paz, trying and praying that his scent would calm him down enough to keep himself in control. But Nico was too new in their pack, barely integrated, the slightest hint of milk still clinging to him, marking him as freshly presented, basically still a pup, which pushed him even more to the edge.
He could try Aimar, but their head coach's Omega was so thoroughly scented by Scaloni's, there was barely any of his dark chocolate scent noticeable.
Leandro knew he should tell Scaloni, or at least Leo about his fragile state after not even pressing his nose directly into Leo's scent gland at halftime had helped. But he knew if he told any of them, he would be kept on the bench, unable to help the team.
(Normally Leo wore his scent patches religiously during games, not wanting to be accused of influencing anyone on the field, but with the extended break and the possibility of the game going to extra time he would need to renew them before the second half started.)
Once he entered the pitch, he could immediately feel that it was a bad idea. The red tint in his vision increased, his vision narrowed down further and he had to bite his lip until he tasted blood to keep from growling at every opponent he came across.
It didn't quite work, as not even five minutes later, he managed to get a yellow card for pushing someone. The only reason he wasn't sent of completely right there, was Leo — of course — who had briefly grabbed him by the back of the neck. Being scruffed like that, out in public, by their pack leader was embarrassing, but it helped him keep it together for a little while longer. Still his game became more and more erratic, and the closer they got to full time, with absolutely no shots even close towards Spain's goal, the closer he felt to getting booked by the referee again.
Maybe it would have helped him to calm down, if he could leave the tension on the pitch — no, Leandro, you have to think about the team — so he gritted his teeth even more.
But over 120 minutes hovering on the edge like he was, not yet letting his Alpha fully take over, something eventually had to give.
It crashed over him as soon as the final whistle sounded, Leandro not even registering that they had just lost the game. His eyes only zeroed in on two Spanish players putting their hands on one of his pack members. His ears filled with static and his throat rumbled with a growl. He didn't even know who of his pack it had been, he just knew he had to be over there.
Before he knew it the Spanish guy was on the ground, Leandro baring his teeth at him. Two different people grabbed at him and instinctively he snarled at them as well, even if somewhere deep, deep down he recognised them as Betas of their pack.
The sudden sharp pain of his already cracked ribs and the pungent smell of angry Alpha unleashed something inside of him and the next thing he knew were his teeth painfully snapping around nothing, missing his target's throat by millimetres.
The only thing that stopped him from trying again, and actually tearing their throat out was a firm hand on his chest and the familiar, somewhat soothing scent of dark chocolate, layered beneath spicy chilli pepper. It managed to clear his head enough to let himself be pulled away by Thiago and Aimar, even if he kept growling under his breath.
"—dro! Calm down—"
"—not gonna hear you like this—"
As if through thick fog he could hear them talk to him — or each other? —, but then a finger brushed against the scent gland again and everything vanished back into the red. He snapped his teeth at whoever he was touching him.
"—iago, stop! — he's— head off."
The dark chocolate intensified around him, while he was pushed to sit down on the ground. The hands left his body, and for the first time in the last five minutes it felt like he could breathe. Around him were the familiar scents of the other Alphas of his pack, helping a little.
But someone else's scent hit his nose, and the sudden pain in his chest was worse than ever before. It made all his muscles clench for a moment before he felt like a puppet with every string cut.
Leo, but not his usual serene scent. No, he was drenched in defeat, guilt and something more that Leandro couldn't place.
Suddenly the red, angry feeling of his alpha clawing at his insides vanished, leaving only emptiness. He let out a long high-pitched whine, tears welling up in his eyes. His instincts told him to go and comfort Leo, but his body didn't respond.
He could only sit there, eyes locked onto their Pack Omega, gently rocking himself back and forth, teeth dug tightly into the collar of his shirt. Nothing else around them registered.
Helplessly he watched Leo slowly take of his shoes, his socks and the protective tape around his legs. It felt like the world was ending for Leandro. This was the end of an era, like the curtains were falling on one of the best careers in football. And he could only sit and watch.
Someone's hands touched his shoulders again, but Leandro didn't notice.
– – – – –
Once nobody's life was in immediate danger anymore Nahuel let out a breath of relief. It was bad enough that they had played like shit and lost, that the whole world seemed to hate him, but one of their own Alphas murdering one of the other's Alphas would have been the cherry on top of this shit show.
Leandro seemed to have calmed down in the care of Pablo Aimar. Still growling and snarling, but not fighting against them anymore. At the same time Pablo explained the whole situation to Thiago. The poor Beta probably had never seen a truly feral Alpha. Most Alphas these days had a tight control over themselves, a majority never lost themselves their whole life.
But Leandro was somewhat of a sensitive Alpha, very affected by the moods around him. But even he had never lost himself like that before — at least not that Nahuel knew off.
Suddenly Leandro growled loudly again, snapping at Thiago's hand. Thiago's hand which was very close to Leandro's scent gland.
Fucking hell.
Aimar's half panicked voice reached even Nahuel's ears: "Thiago, stop! Get your hands away from his neck or he's gonna bite your head off too!"
He hadn't expected Thiago to be this inexperienced with dealing with Alpha's, but maybe it was because their pack was not exactly like the usual pack and as Beta Thiago never had Alpha/Omega biology in school.
Nahuel had learned most of his knowledge because of his own relationship with Cuti and Licha, and they were also the least typical couple ever. Lisandro was the most dominant Omega he had ever met, comfortable in his own skin and the way he ordered Cuti and him around — especially in the bedroom. In turn Cuti worshipped the ground he walked on, but he still was an Alpha. If anyone else would have tried to touch his scent gland there would have been consequences.
He had made this mistake only once, very early in their relationship. Licha had left the bed to gather some aftercare stuff, leaving Cuti — still basking in the afterglow — cuddled up to Nahuel. And Nahuel had accidentally, trying to provide his own aftercare, brushed his hands over the still swollen and sensitive scent gland. Before he could react he suddenly was trapped under Cuti's whole weight, his sharp teeth painfully buried into Nahuel's shoulder. Licha had immediately rushed back to save him, but it had taken almost half an hour to bring Cuti back to normal and Nahuel still had the scars on his collarbone.
Plus he had been bonded to Cuti, who had been half asleep and was not already feral and searching for a fight.
Most of the team had gathered around each other in one corner of the pitch, where Aimar and Thiago also led Leandro, gently pushing him to sit down among them. None of the other Alphas dared to touch him, knowing that his instincts were currently primed to fight everyone who wasn't an Omega.
But none of them were in a state to really help, to coax Leandro back into the real world.
Julian was already wrapped around Enzo, who was still upset about his red card.
Pablo was trying his best, but he was more focused on his own partner now that nobody was about to die anymore.
Licha's dominance would only push his instincts further away from them.
And Leo, as Pack Omega technically the perfect choice, gave off such an amount of sad pheromones, mechanically taking off his shoes, that Nahuel questioned if Leo even noticed anything going on around him.
Suddenly, from one blink to another, Leandro collapsed into himself. Was he growling a moment ago, he now let out a whine that made everyone's hair stand on end. It was a sound that nobody wanted to hear from a pack member, a sound of complete devastation.
"Shit."
Leandro was now rocking back and forth, crying and whimpering, biting into his shirt.
"What happened to him?"
Thankfully Nahuel wasn't the only one wondering how Leandro had gone from devastatingly angry to devastatingly sad.
"He dropped."
"He WHAT?!"
He had only ever known of Omegas dropping, even if he had only witnessed it exactly twice.
Once was Leo, right when they after the Scaloneta pack had officially bonded, the Pack Leader overwhelmed with the amount of feelings crashing into him. Nahuel and most of the other Betas had watched fascinated how Rodrigo, Leandro and Angel had tucked the nonverbal Omega into their big nest, Dybala and Julian making sure every pillow was fluffed, every blanket was scented. They had all piled around Leo, taking turns keeping watch while Leo slept for 24 hours straight.
The second time was Licha, coming out of his heat — the first heat Nahuel was allowed to be present —, he had dropped, hard. For a moment Nahuel had panicked, thinking that it had been his fault. As Beta he should have had no effect on an Omega, but Licha wasn't a typical Omega. But Cuti was fast to reassure him, that Licha just had a complicated relationship to his heats. It was the one time where his Omega side craved submission, but his dominant side heavily protested that. It let to his hormones be at war with each other, leaving him drained and exhausted every time.
In fact Nahuel had ended up helping tremendously with this dilemma. During heats he wasn't able to order Cuti around, but with him he didn't have that problem. Once they had figured that out — Nahuel had no problem submitting to either Cuti or Licha — their Omega hadn't dropped again.
But he had never heard of this happening to an Alpha.
"But how?"
Dibu settled down near the cluster of Betas: "He went feral, no?"
Thiago and Nahuel nodded.
"He went feral and there was nobody to bring him back slowly. My guess is he saw and smelled Leo and his body just shut down on him."
"…Can we do something?… Should we have done something?!"
"Unfortunately not." A new voice spoke up — Scaloni. "He would have needed an Omega, specifically he would have needed Leo, but not when Leo smells like that. This is why he dropped."
Oh. Nahuel glanced over at Leo, who wistfully stared off into the distance, barely responsive even when some of the Alphas came over to console him. His scent patches must have failed at some point after the game, because his sad and defeated smell was hanging over all of them like a rain cloud. And if the Betas could already basically taste it on their tongues, Nahuel didn't want to imagine how bad it must be for the Alphas.
"But there must be something to help Lean? I mean we can't just leave him like that until Leo smells better."
Two of their Beta medics had knelt down beside Leandro, gently coaxing him to lay down flat on his back and to unlock his bite around the shirt. One of them pulled a small piece of cloth from a plastic bag, and pressed it over his nose and mouth.
"That's drenched with Leo's natural pheromones, it should bring him back from the edge for now."
"You mean he scented it?" Simeone had only joined them recently, and it was clear that they were the first pack he's ever been a part of, the whole tournament the young Beta had kept asking questions about Alpha and Omega biology.
"Not quite, scented things, while helpful of course, would simply not be strong enough in situations like this. These are pheromones that are directly extracted from Leo's scent gland."
Several of the Alphas listening to Scaloni's explanation, winced, their hands instinctively going to cover the back of their neck. They had all given a sample of their own pheromones when they had joined the pack to ensure they were compatible with everyone. But Nahuel hadn't known that Leo did that before every international break, because if he remembered correctly from his biology lessons then pheromones didn't last very long.
"…But I fear even this won't be enough for Lean right now… so they're also going to give him a shot of Omitocin."
Omitocin was an Omega-specific kind of Oxytocin. It was the hormone for both Alphas and Omegas to ensure the Bond took correctly, helped by the pheromones released by both parties during the Bonding.
It was also released during scent marking. Medically in cases like Leandro's a shot of Omitocin paired with the direct inhalation of Omega pheromones could help to temporarily bring the haywire hormones caused by the drop back to base levels.
The Alpha would still need to be thoroughly scent marked by their Omega afterwards to prevent further complications.
Leandro barely hissed as the needle pierced his skin, but the the effects were immediate. His scent spiked, the heavy cypress forest smell almost overpowering Leo's. His eyes snapped open and he finally looked like he saw his soundings again.
With a short growl he pushed the cloth off his face, but it immediately turned back into a whine, when his nose flared and took in Leo's sad smell again.
"Shit, this is not going to work as long as he can smell Leo like this!"
A medic rushed towards the Pack Omega, fresh scent patch in hand. Leo only briefly looked towards him, simply inclining his head to present his scent gland. With quick and professional hands the medic pealed off the old one, almost choking them all as his scent was free to flow. Just as quickly he applied the new patch, sealing it tight.
It was as if a sigh of relief went through the whole team. Tense shoulders dropped, Julian finally taking his nose out of the crook of Enzo's neck, daring to look at Leo again.
Anxiously they all looked over to Leandro. The Alpha was now holding the pheromone cloth up to his nose by himself, taking deep and laboured breaths, while the other medic gently rubbed his back.
"Alright, deep breaths, exactly like that, Lean… Deep breaths…"
"Wh-what happened?" His voice sounded rough, as if he had both screamed and hadn't said a word in hours.
"You dropped. But you should be fine until after the ceremony. Why didn't you tell anyone you were this close to going feral?"
– – – – –
Leandro blinked, he could barely remember the past 3 hours. Only glimpses of the game, his anxiety on the bench, the way Leo had briefly scruffed him. Then the goal from Spain, the final whistle and his whole mind blanked after that. His teeth hurt and his jaw ached as if he had repeatedly bashed them together hard, biting air.
"Oh god, did I—?"
Leandro didn't dare to think about what could have possibly happened. Had he hurt — or worse killed someone??
"Thankfully not, but you came very close. Nahuel and Thiago managed to keep both of you safe."
Relieved Leandro turned towards the group of Betas: "thank you so much… I should probably apologise to…"
"Gavi. But it was partly his own fault. He punched an already feral Alpha, he should have known that's dangerous."
But then again Leandro shouldn't have tried to play while already partly feral.
"Still…"
"If you do, you're taking Pablo or Leo with you, someone who's capable of scruffing you. And be aware once you have recovered completely you and I will be having words about playing semi-feral, am I clear?"
Scaloni sounded stern in a way he only talked about team issues, a hint of Alpha command in his voice.
Leandro ducked his head. While Scaloni was not officially the Pack Alpha — none of them were — he still was the head coach and therefore had authority over them.
Leo suddenly appeared between them, having returned to the land of the living. He gently touched the back of Leandro's neck, not quite scruffy, but enough for him to go limp in their captain's grip. His fingers found his scent gland, steadily pressing into it until Leandro bared his neck for Leo.
The Omega quietly stretched up, kissing it, before replacing his lips and fingers with a scent patch. Then he turned around and steadily walked towards where the Spanish team were already waiting for them in a guard of honor.
Leandro only realised why when the band of the medal landed heavily around his neck. It's edge would have dug directly into the sensitive skin around it, still throbbing from the injection. If not for the extra protection the patch had given him, he would have immediately ripped it off again.
Instead they all followed Leo's example of keeping it. They made their way over to the fans who had continued to cheer for them, silently thanking them all for their support.
Out of the corner of the eye Leandro could have sworn that Leo had started crying, but his head was starting to get fuzzy again, the effects of the emergency Omitocin wearing off.
Just five more minutes until we're back inside. He told himself. He tried to stay alert by biting his lip and closing his eyes tightly. The sudden appearance of two scents next to him helping. The crackling smell of thunderstorms — Licha — and the sweetness of marshmallows — Julian —, surrounding him completely. He concentrated on their differences, the way Cuti's soil after the rain and Enzo's bonfire scents were mingling through it all.
Still his legs buckled underneath him the moment they stepped off the pitch, the last traces of the synthetic Omitocin and his own Adrenaline leaving his body. Before he could collapse to the ground, strong arm caught him and the last thing Leandro perceived was Dibu's asado scent, before everything went black.
– – – – –
"Licha, Julian can you stay close to him until we're back in the hotel? He's gonna need to be surrounded by Omega scents he knows until Leo is in a state to take care of him." Aimar looked at them seriously. "I know you both want to shower too, but at least give him your shirts or something."
Both of them nodded solemnly. None of them had seen an Alpha just collapse like that, but he had been swaying on his feet from the moment they had greeted their fans. Subconsciously they had closed in on him, positioning themselves behind him, trying to smell as soothing as possible.
They transported the unconscious Alpha back to the bus, with one of the stretchers, letting him curl up in the small nest area they had in the back. Neither of the Omegas, nor both Enzo and Cuti leaving his side.
Once they had reached the hotel and Geronimo Rulli had volunteered to carry him to the main pack nest, Leo has silently appeared by their side. Their Pack Omega hadn't said a word since the final whistle apart from curt "Felicidades" to the Spanish players when they came to greet him.
His neck was still taped up, so his scent was still barely noticeable, and his eyes still looked puffy and tearful. But gently he took over the care. Directing them to draw a bath — Leandro was still in his match worn shirt —, undressing him himself, and settling them inside the hot water. The rest of the pack didn't need words to know what to do. Expertly the Betas prepared the towels and the perfect water temperature, the Alphas swarmed out to gather more materials for the big pack nest, while Julian and Nico had taken over reinforcing the nest with the stuff the Alphas brought. Even Licha tried to contribute to that, but Leo held him back. He knew that building nests made Licha's skin crawl.
Instead he settled by the side of the bath, unsure what Leo wanted him to do.
"Your scent. He needs a second Omega scent for the first few seconds once I take off our patches. Just until I manage to get this stench off me." Leo sounded rough and Licha absolutely didn't stare at him like he had just grown a second head. His scent wasn't what people would describe as typical Omega scent. He knew it had to do with his dominant side, but more than once he had been mistaken for the Alpha in the relationship. But he didn't question their captain.
With quick motions he scented the wash cloth Leo gave him, before holding it under Leandro's nose, while Leo peeled of his scent patch.
Immediately the room was flooded again, by fresh grass and mate, still smelling sad, but not as incredibly devastated as before. Still Leandro whimpered, pressing his nose closer to Licha's scent.
Quickly Leo washed himself, the sadness shedding from him, like it was swirling down the drain with the dirty water. Once he was done he repeated the same with the patch on Leandro's neck.
Licha winced. The usual clean and inviting forest, now smelled like it had rotted away. His scent gland looked red and irritated, Licha could feel some sort of phantom pain in his own.
"Licha, thank you, I've got him from here… you don't have to watch the next part because it's not gonna be pretty." Leo looked serious, his brows furrowed.
Licha immediately shook his head. Sometimes he had the feeling that due to his dominant nature, he couldn't really help the Alphas of his pack as well as the other Omegas. And now he had the opportunity to at least serve for some sort of comfort.
"Okay, but stay away far enough that he's not able to accidentally punch or slap you."
Licha took a step back, not for the first time wondering if the scent of lightning and thunder could ever be soothing, but he tried to let out the most comforting pheromones he could. Leo smiled softly, his chest rumbling with an approving purr.
"Okay, here it goes… Brace yourself…"
Leo wrapped his arms tightly around Leandro's chest, before lowering his mouth towards his scent gland. For a moment Licha wondered what Leo was about to do, when the Alpha suddenly started flailing, writhing about, his arms smacking the place where Licha had sat just a moment before. Leo kept his teeth buried in Leandro's neck for a moment longer until he let out one high-pitched whine and went limp again, breathing heavily.
But at least his eyes were halfway open again now.
"Leoooo—"
Their Pack Omega released the Alpha, starting to purr for real now, gently shushing him.
"It's okay, Lean, I know it hurts now, but just relax and let go, I'm here, Licha is here too, and the others made us the best nest ever."
Leandro reached out one hand towards Licha, who questioningly looked at Leo. After his nod, he took the Alpha's hand in both of his.
"Yeah, I'm here too, you're safe."
"Now, let's get you out of here before we both shrivel up." Leandro let out a tiny laugh, probably the best sound Licha had heard since the anthems. Leo adjusted his weight, grunting a bit as he tried to bring Leandro back into a sitting position. "Sweetheart, you have to help me a bit, you know I'm a tiny mouse compared to you."
Leandro snorted as well, finally helping Leo a bit. It hit Licha that Leo was joking on purpose, to put the Alpha at ease even further.
With their combined strength, Licha and Leo managed to lift Leandro out of the tub and wrap him in a fluffy towel.
One of the Betas had left them a warm oversized hoodie — bright pink, clearly from Inter Miami, originally probably Rodrigo's, but now it smelled more like Leo — for Leandro and a tub of soothing scent neutral cream that Licha had seen in Leo's bathroom after the Pack leader came out of his heat. Leo handed that one to Licha, before taking Leandro's face into both of his hands, forcing him to look Leo in the eyes.
"Is Licha allowed to touch your neck, or should I do it?"
Leandro shrugged, wanting Leo to make the decisions, who nodded at Licha.
"Okay… be careful, he's gonna be very tender."
"I will, I know this from Cuti."
Leo laughed softly. "That's why I asked you to stay. You know what to do with Alphas in subspace. Juli or Nico would have been too out of their depth how to handle this." Leandro was now leaning against Leo's chest, face buried in his neck, inhaling his scent.
Licha unscrewed the tub. The cream was a soft pink and smelled like…. nothing. Gently he scooped up some of it, warming it between his fingers. Maybe he needed to ask Leo later where he got this from, because it felt so much better than the one he had bought for Cuti.
His clean hand found it's way into Leandro's hair, scratching his scalp. Leo still held his head steady, while Licha applied the cream to his gland. Leandro hissed again, and Licha forced himself to purr soothingly — another thing he usually struggled with — and not linger with his fingers on the places where Leo's teeth had broken the skin.
"What did you do anyways? I've never seen an Alpha act like this… not even Cuti when— you know…"
"I bet Cuti never dropped from being feral. I'm sure you know that can be very dangerous, especially when they have to give emergency Omitocin. It's a good thing they always have my pheromones on hand, because otherwise he could have slipped into a coma… But what I did, was essentially re-bond him. To reassure his inner Alpha that his bond with me and the pack was still true, even after he lost control."
"Oh… it looked like it hurt, normal bonding didn't hurt… at least… ours… I don't really remember when I bonded with Cuti…"
"We were both ready to prepare ourselves and our hormones were not all over the place. Plus we're both Omegas, it's different. But even when you both know what's going on you can get overwhelmed… you remember how I dropped after we sealed the Pack Bond."
"So will he be fine?"
Leo nodded, pulling on his own pair of sweatpants and leading Leandro towards the door.
"He's gonna be perfectly fine. He'll sleep for a while now, and then he's gonna feel very bad for the next week, but then everything is going to be alright."
– – – – –
His neck hurt. That was the first thing Leandro noticed. It fucking hurt, but he was wrapped into Leo's scent, so he didn't dare to move. His head felt fully clear for the first time in what seemed like days. He was laying in a bed, and once he concentrated he could feel most of the rest of the pack around him. He opened his eyes and looked directly into Leo's. Another Omega was wrapped around his back.
"L'o, h'rts."
He tried to reach for his scent gland — the source of the pain —, but Leo quickly snatched his hand away.
"Ah there you finally are, sweetheart. I know it hurts, I had to re-bond you. We can get you an ibuprofen shortly, but first I need you to do something for me."
Leandro hummed. He would do anything for Leo, especially if he promised to take this pain away. His body felt heavy, and he was sure that he would not be able to move even an inch, but for Leo he would try.
"Shhhh, you don't have to move for this. You just need to promise me to never, never ever do something like this again. I know you just wanted to help and all, but you need to tell me or Lio when you're on the edge of going feral. You were so close to slipping away and I and the whole Pack can't loose you."
Leandro paled. "'m sorry, 'm sorry, I won't, I promise, Leo please I'm so sorry."
"I know, sweetheart," someone handed Leo an ibuprofen and a glass of water and he gently helped Leandro take it. "We're here, you can sleep now, we'll be fine. You'll be fine."
He knew that when he woke up, the conversation with Scaloni and the technical staff would be long and gruesome. But for now he closed his eyes, his nose pressed as close to Leo as possible drifting over to sleep, knowing that Leo and the rest of the Pack would be by his side, no matter what.
