If jealousy was a person, it'd be tied between Steve Harrington, and Billy hargrove.
However, whereas Steve is the placid kind of, pathetic jealousy, Billy is more— possessive.
Cliche, I know, but when you put the two together, you get a surefire recipe for disaster.
Before Billy knew, Robin and Steve's dynamic was nothing but two dorky friends who shared a single braincell, he assumed they were dating.
Of course, instead of talking to Steve and perhaps confessing his budding feelings, he was going to get petty about things, and start acting like he was actually dating Heather.
Meanwhile Steve on the other hand, was devastated because he thought Billy and Heather's little couply rouse, was real.
Two sides of the same, stupid insecure coin.

Steve looked over at Robin as she wiped the counter, his entire face soured and red.
"He's dating her Robin I know he is—"
Robin groaned, slapping the cloth down on the counter, pissed from hearing this exact statement all week.
"You've been saying this all week, just go ask him."
Steve covered his face, hunched over in a booth.
"I can't just ask him Robin, it'll ruin our reputation as *the* rivals.."
Robin mouthed Steve's words back in a mockingly high pitched voice, sitting down next to him in the booth.
"Everytime I think that just maybe you're actually cooler than me, you prove me so so wrong."
Steve whined, taking his hat off and hitting her with it.
"Not helping Buckley."
Robin chuckled and shook her head, taking Steve's hat from his weak grip and hitting him back.
"Well that's because I wasn't trying to help, smartass."
Steve didn't answer, dragging both hands down his face and looking at Robin with an expression so sad and confused that it hurt.
Robin physically cringed, patting Steve's back.
"Damn, you're really bent up about this."
Steve nodded, taking a big deep breath in.
"Are you gonna cry?"
Steve nodded, his eyes watering.
Robin sighed.
"Come here, dingus."
Steve bit his lip as tears rolled down his cheeks, he didn't understand.
Suddenly his train of thought was interrupted by Robin's apparent laughter.
Steve gasped.
"Are you laughing at me!?"
Robin cracked, barking with laughter, no longer trying to hide.
Steve couldn't help but laugh along with her, at the fact that his situation was so ridiculous.

Now, across the proverbial pond, Billy Hargrove was aggressively putting away pool noodles.
"I hope that Buckley girl knows I hate her."
Heather scoffed from where she was fixing her lipgloss, gum popping.
"Don't be disrespectful, at least she's actually hot enough to be with Harrington."
Billy scowled, closing the pool storage room door with excessive force.
"God Heather, think with your brain for once."
Heather laughed derisively.
"I prefer to think with my—"
Billy threw his lifeguard whistle at her head.
"Please don't finish that sentence."
Heather winced, rubbing the side of her head.
"Asshole."
Billy shot back, holding the gate open for her.
"Lesbian."
Heather walked through.
"You're homophobic."
Billy threw his hands up
"I'm Gay!"
Heather flipped her hair.
"Still."

Steve clocked out of the ice cream shop, turning the key in the lock before shifting to look at Robin.
"Am I still blotchy?"
Robin patted his cheek in quick succession, pinching it once.
"Yup, you're redder than— I don't know."
Steve stuck his tongue out, before getting a little serious.
"Do you think he'd like me— if he wasn't dating Heather?"
Robin's face went blank, for a second.
"Are we really going back to that?"
Steve shrugged.
"Yeah.."
Robin nudged him.
"Do you think he'd like you?"
Steve shook his head.
Robin caressed his back.
"If you don't think he'd like you then I can't tell you anything."
Steve huffed.
"I'm so sick of this Rob."
Robin nodded.
"Me too."

Billy attempted to get Steve out of his mind, as he walked to the parking lot with Heather.
She tugged on his ear, chewing her gum obnoxiously.
"What're you thinking about, Hargrove?"
Before he could answer, Heather continued.
"Wait, lemme guess— you're thinking about fucking Steve."
Billy promptly ignored her.
Heather laughed loudly at her own joke, doubled over and shaking.
Billy rolled his eyes.
"I can assure you, it wasn't that funny."
Heather could barely answer between her giggles.
"It— it is— you—"
Billy walked away before she could finish.
Heather caught up to him annoyingly fast, still chuckling.
"Wanna got to scoops?"
Billy raised an eyebrow.
"They're closed."
Heather nodded.
"Even better, no customers to interrupt you and Steve's toxic rendezvous."
Billy was livid. But, his anger wasn't directly a no.

Steve's heart stopped, all the blood that was pumping through his body suddenly rushing to his face as Billy's car pulled up.
He shook Robin, panic written across his red cheeks.
"Robin— he's here!— oh God he brought Heather I'm gonna die!"
Robin held his shoulders, pressing her forehead to his.
"You need to lock the fuck in!"
Steve squeaked.
"I'm trying!"
Their spur of the moment pep talk was cut short as Billy and Heather's walked up.
"Hey Harrington."
Steve froze, looking up like a mad man.
Robin grabbed his wrist, lifting his hand and waving it at Billy.
Heather spoke, popping her hip like she had someone to impress.
"I know you guys are closed, but I figured maybe you'd spare some ice cream for a friend."
Robin nodded frantically before Steve could interject, fumbling with the key.
She finally got the door open, holding it awkwardly.
Heather winked and blew her a kiss, much to Billy's annoyance and dismay.
He grunted in approval at Robin , the signature sign of "I'm not talking but know it’s because I’m cool and I don’t care.”
Robin urged Steve not to say anything, which despite his instincts telling him to kick the pair out, he kept his mouth shut, for his own sake mostly, also because his mouth wouldn’t work properly.

Steve watched Heather and Billy eat ice cream with a pathetic forlorn expression.
He looked away quickly when Billy looked back at him, pretending to check the ice cream temperature.
He excused himself to the breakroom, shutting the door and exhaling in relief.
"God he's so hot."
Robin made a fake gagging noise, doing a throttling motion.
Steve deadpanned.
"You're just a lesbian."
Robin shrugged.
"And? At least I can actually talk to my crushes."
Steve clutched his chest, acting like he got shot.
"Too soon, Buckley, too soon."
Robin laughed and Steve smiled.
Steve went back out only to find Billy leaning completely over the counter, lounging like a bored cat.
He waved, smirking at Steve's surprised face.
"Hey.."
Billy, gestured for Steve to come closer.
Steve obeyed without much fuss, almost like he was in a trance.
Billy grabbed Steve by the collar, his voice lowering seductively as he whispered in Steve's ear.
"I need to talk to you outside, Harrington."
Steve's face flushed, his voice wobbly.
"Now?—"
Billy nodded, booping Steve's nose.

Steve followed Billy outside, adjusting his sailor hat repeatedly before finally deciding to just take it off.
He rocked back and forth on his heels, avoiding Billy's gaze.
Billy grabbed his face, turning Steve's head towards him, leaning in enough to feel Steve's breath against his lips.
"Why so nervous, Harrington?"
Steve stammered, until Billy let go, chuckling softly.
Billy's expression shifted from that infuriating smirk to a grimace, as he looked past Steve and into scoops ahoy through the glass door.
Steve followed his wandering gaze, looking at Robin.
"Wha—"
Before Steve could finish, Billy stepped forward, now face to face with him again but much less flirty.
"Are you dating Buckley?"
Steve blinked. Once. Twice, resembling a deer in headlights. Then, he bursts into laughter.
He held onto Billy, on instinct, stomach cramping with the force of his laughter.
Billy grumbled.
"What's so fucking funny, Harrington?"
Steve attempted to breath in and calm down, but just couldn't.
He laughed for the next two minutes, before finally straightening up, wiping the tears from his face.
Billy tilted his head.
"Are you done?"
Steve nodded, still holding onto him.
"Yes— and to answer your question, no I'm not dating Robin."
Billy nodded, appearing calm.
"Good."
Before Steve could continue, Billy kissed him, arms snaking around Steve's waist.
The kiss wasn't gentle by any means, a mix of teeth and tongue, and everything Billy had been holding back.
Steve's moans were stifled and swallowed whole by Billy.
Steve cupped Billy's face, chasing the kiss like a starving man.
They only pulled apart when the lack of oxygen finally hit him, and they both needed to breath as people do.
Steve immediately buried his face in Billy's shoulder, his voice coming out quiet and muffled.
"I thought you were dating Heather. "
Billy gagged.
"That's disgusting— plus she's lesbian."
Steve shot up, looking like an absolute mess.
"Mine too!"
Billy smiled, kissing Steve again.
Then Robin opened the door, followed by Heather who both high fived.
"Mission accomplished."
Heather nodded.
"Our turn."
Robin sputtered.
"W-What!?"—"
