Chapter Text
Harry has been named Employee of the Month ninety-nine times in a row. He isn't entirely sure that’s an achievement worth bragging about when he’s the only employee in the entire mansion, but he decides to treat it as a victory anyway.
After all, over those long years—he’s lost count of exactly how many have passed—he has managed to rescue ninety-nine souls from the eternal punishment of death. That, at least, is worth celebrating.
When he hits one hundred, he plans to ask for a raise. Maybe one of those Muggle phones that lets you watch TV series. Although, to be honest, he highly doubts there’s any signal in the Hereafter.
Draco Malfoy has just turned twenty-five and has everything anyone could want: a family that adores him, a career he’s passionate about, and a massive inheritance he’s about to receive.
All his life, he’s been told that the Malfoys are obscenely wealthy. According to his mother, they’re even distantly related to the Queen. And upon turning twenty-five, he is finally set to be named Head of the Malfoy, Black, and Lestrange Magical Houses.
At least, that was the plan.
Because on the day the family flame is summoned, he discovers something impossible: he hasn’t inherited the House of Black.
It has to be a mistake.
There are no Blacks left alive. He has studied his family tree since he was a child and knows, with absolute certainty, that he is the last one.
That money should belong to him.
Then, a name appears that should never have existed.
Harry James Potter-Black.
According to the records, this stranger holds the title of Head of the Houses of Black, Potter, Peverell, and Riddle... and has held it for over a hundred years.
And Draco is determined to find out who the hell this Harry Potter is.
