Work Text:

                                                                                                                Knots

Sydney groaned in pain as she tried to soothe her lower back with her hand. The pain was throbbing right below her bra band. She tried slow twisting movements and small stretches in between during her shift, but nothing seemed to make the ache go away. It was so annoying.

She was sitting on the table bench out back behind the Bear when she heard the back door open.

"Uh…Hey, you okay?" Carmy asked as he carefully closed the door behind him and walked over towards her.

"I don't know. I must have slept really badly last night, and I have this really, like, really annoying  backache." Sydney groaned, trying again to soothe the sore spot on her back.

"Hmmm, le-let me see." Carm was right behind her now with both hands on her shoulders, trying to analyze the situation. "Where's the spot?"

"It's the lower back on the right."

"Okay," he whispered as he gently slid his hands down her back and, with his thumb and index finger, began to feel around for the area. Her back was so tense.

Sydney closed her eyes and breathed in and out as she tried to ignore his strong, big hands slowly sliding down her back, making small circular movements. It would have been so much better if the shirt wasn't there.

"Oooh, that's it," she winced when Carmy found the source of her discomfort.

"Okay, just relax and breathe." With his hands on her sides, Carmy carefully applied firm pressure with his thumbs and began moving them in a slow circular motion.

Sydney let out an agonizing scream when she felt his fingers stroke the spot. He was right on target.

"You have a really bad knot", he grunted as he pulled Sydney closer to him and applied even more pressure. "If I can't get it, we might need some heat."

She took in a sharp breath and chuckled with her hands on the table, bracing herself. "D-Do we even have time for something like that?"

Carmy pressed down again in the same area with more force than before and continued the circular motions. He could feel the warmth radiate off of Sydney's skin through her T-shirt.

"Uh oh- okay, here we go. I'm almost there." He grunted

Sydney shut her eyes, trying desperately to block out the pain and the fact that Carmy was behind her. A breathy moan escaped from Sydney’s lips. The pain was intense, but she noticed the muscles slowly starting to obey and loosen up.

Carmen was focused and kept thrusting until…..SNAP!

The knot that once plagued Sydney was gone and now left with a slow, much more tolerable ache. However, a new dilemma took its place. Sydney let out a shaky gasp as she noticed something shift on her body. Her breasts that were once supported by her bra fell to their natural state.

"Uuuuh..Fuck me." She whispered to herself

"Do you want me to….uh"

"Yeah, please, fix it."

"I got you."

Carmen carefully pulled up the back of Sydney's shirt, exposing her lower back. He could see little beads of sweat, and a quarter-sized deep red spot were the knot had been on her right lower side. His eyes carefully gazed up higher when he noticed something interesting. Very interesting. He saw the bra strap that he needed to clasp back together, but his attention was somewhere else.

It was a tattoo of a Volvo 740 car. Without even thinking, Carmen carefully caressed the fine-lined image in awe. So many questions started swirling in his head, and curiosity got the better of him as he raised up the back of Sydney’s shirt even higher, revealing a scripture written sideways that said C'est pas grave. His fingers grazed over it lightly as if he were reading a magical treasure map.

"C-Carm m-my shirt man!" Sydney stumbled, trying to keep the front part of her shirt from rising.

"How could I have not known that you had tattoos?" His eyes still analyzing her back. He finally connected the bra straps and pulled her shirt back down.

"Don't stress, it's not something I advertise; it's just something for me, and now I guess you too," Sydney replied, while fixing herself to look a bit more presentable.

"Do you have any more?"

"I do."

"Where?" Carmy said urgently, staring intensely at Sydney, hoping to know more about her ink.

"Well, I do have this big tattoo of my zodiac constellation on my left thigh," Sydney winked at him.

Carmen's face went from intrigued to confused to something else, but he just ended up licking his dry lips while debating with himself if he should ask her to take her pants off so that he could see it. His inner turmoil was interrupted with laughter.

"I'm sorry, I'm just fucking with you. I don't have any tattoos on my thighs, nor would I get something like a zodiac tattoo on there."

Carmy smiled and shook his head. “Yeah Ohh-kay"

"But I do have three more tattoos on my back."

"Y-you do?" He asked,

"Yeah you almost saw them if you kept going," Sydney replied softly as she met his eyes and took a step closer to him.

"Yeah?" he breathed out, and like the game mirror, he too took a step closer to where they were both inches apart from each other.

"Yeah, well maybe I can show you some time, and we can share ink stories because I have some questions about your tats as well." Sydney’s gaze broke from his as she shifted her eyes towards Carmy’s hands and slowly up his arms, taking in each muscle that contained ink.

Carmen nodded. "After work, uh, at my place?"

"Yeah." Sydney nodded in return.

Carmen gave her a light pat and a squeeze on her shoulder. "Ready to go back in?"

"Pff, no," Sydney pouted, dreading the endless prep that awaits her inside.

"They're going to wonder what we're doing"

"Do you think they heard me scream?"

"It's not just Michigan this time; Indiana heard you too," Carmy laughed

Sydney smiled as she watched Carmen walk back to the door.

"You know ", Carmy whispered, "If you ever decide to get another tattoo, I would totally be down to get a matching one with you."

"Yeah?"

Carmy nodded and went back inside. Sydney smiled, waited thirty seconds, and followed suit.

Notes:

I can't believe that this series is over; I miss them so much! The season finale has inspired me to write some fan fiction. With that being said, I hope that you all enjoy this short fic, and I hope to write some more in the future.
