Work Text:
Terra rolled over in bed, and stretched, enjoying the warmth of a shared bed. She blinked her eyes open, green jewels piercing in the darkness, and stared at Pria’s body, acorn brown skin with bright white tattoos that shone as if they were candlelight. Pria was a merchant, visiting the town to stock up on supplies and attend the local temple. Terra reached a pale hand out, and traced the tattoos down Pria’s body, finger lightly tracing patterns that reminded Terra of a forest. Pria was a wood elf, one of the few members of its family who left the forest for trade. Terra was so glad it had.
Terra had reached the tattoo on Pria’s wrist when it woke, a startled jerk barely concealed as it turned to face her, amber eyes bright in the dim room.
“Terra,” its voice was smooth, and Pria pulled Terra in for a kiss, soft but forceful. “Good morning.”
Terra smiled to herself, “I was hoping you’d come to the temple with me today?”
Pria nodded, “I’d love to,” it spoke gently, melodic sounds that danced in Terra’s mind, “Is there a dress code?”
Pria mostly wore quite revealing outfits, ones that let its tattoos shimmer in the light, and, according to Pria, strengthened its connection with nature.
Terra paused before responding, “A longer cloak, ideally.” Pria hummed, sounding nervous, so Terra quickly spoke again, “Don’t worry, I know someone who’ll let me borrow one!”
A wide smile spread across Pria’s features, and it pressed a kiss against Terra’s forehead.
She ducked out of her room, rented in what was once an inn, grinning to herself, overjoyed she’d let Pria stay the night when it’d first wandered into the town, alone, and having just been attacked by bandits.
Terra knocked on the door to her room, before pushing it open, “Pria!”
The room was empty, the window flung wide open, her belongings all vanished. The pillow, Terra’s clothes, her jewellery, Pria’s bag. All that remained was a note.
“Unfortunate”
