“Where did you go? Somewhere interesting?” Candy slipped up behind Tai Si, swiping the beret from on top of their headscarf.
Tai Si spun around, giggling, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you.” Her brown eyes were shining with mirth, and she slipped a parcel into Candy’s gloved hands.
Candy smiled, tearing it open with the ferocity of a feral dog finding a molerat.
A yellow bandana, one that glimmered in the sunlight, sat in her hands, and she jumped with glee.
“It’s the exact same shade?” Candy gasped, tying it around her afro, grinning wildly.
Tai Si smiled, and kissed Candy gently on the lips, “You’re welcome.”
