Summary
It was around that time that Manny noticed his teachers acting strange. The school's guidance counselor would ask him odd questions about his mother, about their boundaries, about if she's ever done anything that made him feel unsafe or uncomfortable. He couldn't answer a single one of those honestly, because he always felt unsafe and uncomfortable. None of what his mom made him feel was terribly unique.
Overbearing was the word he'd use to describe her. Suffocating was a close second.
