A rising star, Wei Ying, the Prodigy Child Actor also a Jiaoren! - The Interview
Wei Wuxian sighed as he scrolled through the headlines. At 15, he was not only one of the youngest idols of his generation, but he also had a lot more experience than them, since he started when he was a child.
When he was taken in by Jiang Shushu at age 9, and when it was confirmed that he was a Jiaoren, one that could switch between forms, and a carrier at that, he was quickly thrust into the entertainment industry at 10.
It also helped that the Jiangs own an entertainment company.
Wei Wuxian knew to be grateful for what he had. He was famous, had money (not his since Madame Yu would take it all), and lived comfortably.
But… was he…
Wei Wuxian shook his head. He WAS grateful.
In the TV industry, it had been no secret what Wei Wuxian was, especially, when on a live singing competition, he let out his full potential and won.
There was nothing AGAINST Jiaorens except for how rare they were. In fact, in the entertainment industry, many people used their hybrid traits to get more followers, but none could come close to Wei Wuxian, who was not only the remaining hybrid of his kind, but because of his talent.
A dark voice whispered that the only reason they were almost extinct, leaving him as the only known of his kind was because they were exploited for their tears and voice.
But he was NOT being exploited! He was happy! Really!
Yes, that was all.
Anyways, as a Jiaoren, he was allowed, even encouraged to use his abilities to get fans. Just like in the legends, where a Jiaoren would use his/her voice to attract sailors, that was exactly what Wei Wuxian did. He could not be judged or hated either, since all other hybrids did this as well.
The entertainment industry was cutthroat, especially for a child actor/idol like him.

He bounded out of the car with Jiang Cheng on his heels as they went to school. They attended a high profile private academy, where the children of bigshots and politicians attended.
But Wei Wuxian was only excited to see ONE person!
It was Lan Wangji! He was a dragon, and the Second Jade of the Gusu Lans. Despite being the Second Jade though, he was set to inherit the company and all of its assets due to the fact that -
1) he brother was an omega and 2) even as an omega, he could inherit the company, but simply decided not to, and passed it down to his brother. He’d rather help from the sidelines than do all the hard work, especially since he was in a relationship with Nie Mingjue, an alpha. Selfish? Yes. But Lan Wangji was alright with it, and willing to do anything for his family. Besides... he had plans on what to do when he eventually got his hands on all that power.
Anyways, Wei Wuxian bounded about, waving to people as he went, and thanking them when they mentioned his interview. He was grateful for all his fans, and many people at his school adored him, but really there was only one person’s eyes he wanted on him.
His eyes shined with an unearthly light as he saw him. “LAN ZHANNNN!”
The boy turned as Wei Wuxian crashed into him, his sturdy arms coming up to wrap around Wei Wuxian’s dainty waist. “Careful,” he murmured, his voice low and soothing against Wei Wuxian’s ears.
They’d met last year, and didn’t get off on the right foot. Lan Wangji had seen Wei Wuxian sneaking in, and gotten him punished for it. But Wei Wuxian was immediately taken with the dragon, and decided he would win his heart!
Sure enough, they became really close, since Wei Wuxian had a way of wiggling into peoples’ hearts.
Wei Wuxian flushed at how close they were, and how big Lan Wangji's hands were on his waist.
“Lan Zhannnn!” He whined, still being held by him. “Did you see my interview!”
“Mn. Wei Ying was very pretty.”
Wei Wuxian flushed. He’d worn a black, knee-length dress with red highlights and little chains all over it.
“Lan Zhannnn! My heart!” He clutched his chest. “Warn a guy, will ya?”
“Wei Ying can handle it.”
