Alright everyone, the attack on Madison's over, and I've just got to say... what the fuck was that? I just watched some ridiculously hot armored girl surf her sword up to the feathered bitch and lop off her wings!
No, sorry, I'm not doing this justice. She didn't just lop off the Simurgh's wings like some sort of mindless brute. She made it into an aerial dance, the kind of thing you might see in one of those Aleph animations. I swear, somebody had to be filming it, because without evidence I'm not sure even I would believe it--and I was there!
Also she was wearing a pink crown and yelling something about 'Hope defies' the whole time.

Groundwire was present, and he SHOULD know better than to talk about things that happened during an Endbringer attack. There will be a formal announcement on friday, after we gather and analyze all the data.

The Simurgh's attack on Madison, Wisconsin might well have been one of the most devastating Endbringer fights to date, due in no small part to the sabotage and utilization of confiscated Haywire tinkertech. However, this heinous act led to one of the most heroic and dedicated teams of capes emerging on the battlefield and unexpectedly becoming a vital feature in the evacuation and salvation of countless innocent citizens. The PRT has gathered these young heroes, unwillingly displaced from Earth Aleph, and has pledged to support them as we work toward returning them home. In the interim, the Knights Errant will be working as traveling heroes and troubleshooters in cooperation with the PRT. The Knights Errant consist of the following members:
Squire Brilliant: An intelligent lad with electrokinetic abilities.
Maid Multiform: A young lady able to transform into a myriad of mythical creatures.
Sir Ballistic: A noble warrior who can strike evil from range and up close.
Dame Sundancer: A kind dancer blessed with the power of the sun.
Duke Restoration: A stouthearted fellow who defies tragedy with reversed time.
Lady Omnibus: A cunning regent who can borrow the powers of those around her.
Lord Tacticus: A watchful young man who can rearrange the battlefield at a glance.
The nature of their arrival was truly tragic in multiple senses of the word, but they have risen beyond such a harsh beginning. The PRT will do what we can to bring them back home, and we will support them in their endeavors.

Guys, this thread isn't about the crowned cape. This is about the Knights Errant. And if you check the list, the crowned cape is not a member of the Knights. You can speculate about her elsewhere.

For those of you who haven't been following the Bad Canary drama, let me quickly sum things up so you have context. Bad Canary was a very popular up and coming singer cape, right up until her ex-boyfriend sued her for mastering him into self-mutilation. The PRT arrested her on the spot, and she's been held in high-security restraints in preparation for her trial.
Like, ridiculously high security. Brute restraints, for a woman whose power was Mastering at best, and she was gagged as well. Real nasty stuff. Anybody who said it was too much was immediately decried as a 'mastered fan', so that was a thing. Even Dragon's protests didn't change much. It looked like Canary was going to the birdcage.
And then, on the day of the trial, just before Canary entered the courthouse, a pink crown flew in out of nowhere, plopped itself on her head, and she transformed into the Crowned Cape. She immediately ripped free of her restraints, vaporized her gag, and announced that she would be representing herself.
(Side note, the PRT did try to confoam her, but the confoam spray literally bent backward to cover the troopers.)
Canary marches into the court and immediately starts bringing up precedent, countering all evidence of her guilt with masterful skill, citing every law that was violated in her trial, as well as bringing up evidence of corruption. By the end of her big speech, she's not only proven her innocence, she's also gotten the judge and the opposing lawyer indited for... well, I'm not a legal expert, but my lawyer buddy who started watching halfway through says they could go away for a long time.
Then the PRT bursts in, trying to claim she's mastered the court, at which point the crown itself speaks up and offers 'the same service I provided in Madison.' So yeah. Crown is a living crown that transforms people, and it confirmed on Public Broadcast that it can undo Mastering. Up to and including Simurgh bombs.
And immediately after saving Canary's bacon, it hopped off, declared its work complete, and vanished into the ether.

Canary reverted back to her basic self after the cape left. As to her legal status... well, after some back and forth, Dragon stepped in to contain her in preparation for an out of state retrial. She also had some very pointed commentary about Canary's treatment and stated she would be looking over any further Birdcage trials personally.

Well, the crown seems to be operating somewhat heroically, at least. Granted, the Canary thing is a bit debatable, but from what I can tell the only illegal thing the Crown did was give Canary the skills to represent herself, which she desperately needed, so...
