It’s been almost a year since the Byers have moved from Hawkins, Indiana to Lenora Hills, California. Almost 7 months since Mike last spoke to Will. Almost 20 hours since Mike last spoke to El. Will starts to wonder why he’s been getting the silent treatment for the past months, and also why he’s had such strange nightmares lately- more strange than the ones he had when he was possessed. And when everything goes South on the birthday he was hoping to be good, Will finally snaps.
Meanwhile, Max is also struggling back in Hawkins. With nightmares, bad migraines, painful memories either Billy, living in a small house with her mother who is constantly drinking or smoking, and gruesome murders. When Max realizes these murders might be connected to her painful past, she knows she has to do the one thing she’s been most afraid to do- opening up to her friends, and to Lucas. And once she thinks that maybe opening up isn’t so bad, she figures out she is Vecna’s next target.
Both Will and Max must solve their love life’s, and their other major problems fast- and figure out what signs are staring them down to save Hawkins and possibly the world.
