Chapter Text
The night horizon was peacefully dark for the current situation the two underwater explorers were settled in. It was little to say they formed quite a STRONG connection during their journey, Hummer and Wifies could call it an extremely close bond.
Though, Hummer would call it something MUCH deeper at this point. He was mesmerized by Wifies' intelligence, and sharp patience, that he oh so wishes to cherish him in the fullest one day. The research only extended for this long because he managed to get Wifies to believe him. Yea, you get the drill of adoration by now. But does Wifies feel the same for a guy he's known for only 2 months despite how much they talk...?
Anyways, after rummaging through the Hummer's boat for chests and finding water breathing potions, they each picked up one, and went for the waters. However, Wifies didn't trust Hummer enough considering last time, and secretly grabbed another one.
However, despite the peaceful start, HUMMER STILL insisted on drowning in the water on purpose. He was so dazed by that idea, and kept on suggesting it. He was so truly dedicated about the Leviathan that be believed it would come TO THEM first instead of the other way round.
As they searched through, Wifies could hear Hummer murmur about running out of effect for his potion.
"But dude, if I stay any longer you know the drill!"
Hummer inquired, standing in the middle of the water expanse, 50 seconds left on the clock. Wifies also had the same amount of time, but, Hummer had zero knowledge about ANOTHER potion sitting right in one of his inventory slots.
"Just trust me... I think I can... sense the Leviathan..."
Wifies suddenly mumbled (more like lied) out of nowhere. This, of course, excited Hummer, his cable tail swished in anticipation.
"W-Wait, r-really?!"
Hummer perked up, looking around frantically. Wifies slowly swam over to him, gripping onto his shoulders.
"Relax, you said you don't want it to sense us, right?"
He refreshed his memory, keeping that same, piercing stern gaze into his screen. Hummer was pleasantly surprised by the minimized proximity, not like he'd mind it, but of course he can't admit this outloud.
"Yea... sorry... got a little overjo-"
"Is your effect almost out?"
He rudely interrupted him, DEEPLY focused into him as he asked that question.
"15 seconds more..."
Hummer stammered out, as Wifies' grip tightened on him.
"And you didn't bring a spare?"
Wifies sounded rather angry right now.
"I told you, it won't attract Levi!"
Hummer was quick to retort.
"We are already deep deep into the search, I don't think the Leviathan is a secret mind reader like you claim it to be..."
Wifies mused quietly, cautiously glancing around them in hopes the mysterious entity would pass by as his dog ears perked up, still no hope.
"Trust me, it'll appear when we start drowning!"
"And what if it doesn't and we went all the way for nothing and lose our progress?"
Hummer paused. Wifies wasn't wrong. What's the point if they just die and end up on the surface again? It's the stupid same old...
"There's nothing we can do then..."
Hummer shrugged it off, and right after that, him and Wifies began to drown. The TV head gripped the brunette dog boy's shoulders in pain, praying that this time, it would work! He tilted his head down, grunting and whincing as the heart bar went down.
But just as he expected to either see Levi or die and respawn, he heard... someone drinking a potion?! Wait, it was Wifies! He had another secret potion all along!
"Hey bro! I said bring one-! Hmmph!"
Hummer perked up immediately in shock, his screen flashing for a bit in result of that, and his antennas frozen up. He was instantly, and out of nowhere, interrupted with Wifies tossing the emptied bottle away and pressing his lips against his own, welp, in this case, it would be his screen!
Wifies carresed his tv head, drawing him closer into the sudden connection. They both leaned back against gravity of the water, not daring to break the kiss away at all.
Hummer realized this was Wifies' way of inflicting the potion effect onto him, BUT IN THIS WAY? Well, throwing it wouldn't work because then Wifies would die, so really this was the ONLY solution.
Hummer's pains and worries washed away slowly as the potion seemed to influence him. He leaned in closer.
"Mmhhm... you... you stupid genius..."
The TV mumbled against his lips shakily, which only earned a chuckle from Wifies.
"What a strong paradox... when really I'm just saving your life right now..."
Yet Wifies still didn't dare to draw himself away from the kiss. He tilted his head like he was solving a puzzle piece. Hummer yelped quietly into the embrace.
"Oh my dear goodness... Wifies..."
His stability melted away as his tail wrapped around Wifies' left leg, slightly shivering. His hands reached it's way to grip the back of his head, holding onto him like he was his last peck of proper breath. Never in his life has he felt this much ease ever since his search for the Leviathan began. Wifies' tail waved back and forth effortlessly, carrying himself away into the moment.
"D-Don't let go just yet..."
Hummer whispered, as Wifies continued to work his away to probably cause him to system overheat at this fuzzy sensation, his antennas twitching. Wifie's fingertips made their way to the antennas, leaving featherlight touches to test him. Hummer's breath hitched. This one truly set him off like a ticking bomb, because he felt like a puddle.
"N-Hey... stop it... you can't just except me not to like this now..."
He mumbled weakily. Oh how he wished he had actual lips to kiss him back, to properly seize the moment further, but that's the curse of being a stupid loser when it comes to bad luck. Being knee deep underwater didn't seem to change anything, he probably felt like he was at cloud nine right now. He gripped onto his waist gently, feeling at pure bliss. Wifies couldn't help but snicker in awe.
"I've got you... but... I'm pretty sure the effect is in full state right now, bro..."
Wifies whispered back as he pulled away finally, still holding his already feverish head carefully. Goddamn, Hummer looked like he was about to fall over, but he was also disappointed by the sudden ending of that passionate mouth-to-mouth.
"Thanks for the 10 minute bonus I guess..."
Hummer teased lightly, his tail mischievously brushing against Wifies' leg. The latter stiffened a giggle.
"My pleasure, man."
Wifies slightly leaned back, enough to give eachother space, but also enough to still stay near him.
"Now get back on track, we don't have time to contribute to distractions..."
And if the distraction was Wifies' lips, then Hummer was sure hypnotized.
If anyone had asked him where his attention was, he would've had to admit it wasn't on the Leviathan anymore
