Chapter Text
Izuku Midoriya, a young girl who lived a quiet life in the kingdom of Might. She lived with her mother who was a professional seamstress. Her mother, Inko Midoriya was a widow and somehow caught the eye of the king Toshinori Yagi. Well, it actually isn't much of a surprise really since he had been coming to her shop since Izuku was five, it’s only now that he finally got the courage to take her hand and ask her to be his queen.
“Mama, are we going to live in the castle?” A now twelve-year-old Izuku said while the king's guards and maids were packing their lives into caravans. She held her mothers hand tightly, nervous about the new change.
Inko sensed her daughter's nervousness and knelt down in front of her, “Honey, I know change can be scary but this is going to be good for us. You’ll become a princess and get to live with King Toshinori! I know things can be scary now but once we’re adjusted, things will work themselves out.” She said before giving Izuku a kiss on her forehead.
Soon the two of them went into one of the carriages and were off to start their new lives.
It had been a few months since the two girls had moved into the castle and it was finally time for the King to claim his bride. Inko was extremely humble and wore a simple wedding dress that she had made herself, even after Toshinori offered her some of the best bridal seamstresses across all nations. Inko refused and wore her own design, simple lace and a heart neckline. Inko walked down the aisle with Izuku by her side. Izuku wore a soft pastel green dress as she held her mothers hand as they walked. Once they reached the end and Inko was face to face with Toshinori, Izuku stood off to the side and watched the wedding proceed.
In between watching the wedding, Izuku would look into the crowd to see everyone who was in attendance. All of these people were royal families, high society type people. People who were foreign to Izuku. She set her eyes on this one large family, specifically on the youngest son who looked to be her same age. The family wore uniformed colors of red or navy blue. He had red hair on his left side and white on his other side. But the interesting part about this boy was his eyes. He had these beautiful heterochromia eyes, one grey and the other a beautiful blue. He had such beautiful eyes but he looked cold and unapproachable.
Izuku kept observing the room and looking into the crowd when another family had caught her attention. A family of three, they were dressed in loose robes. The mother was silently fighting with her son, he oddly looked familiar to Izuku, but that would be weird since that would imply that he was royalty. Seeing his face more, he looked really familiar, those striking red eyes and that spikey blonde hair. Izuku tried looking at him longer before she was turned away to hearing her name being called out.
“Young Izuku Midoriya.” King Toshinori said as he took Izuku’s hand and kneeling on the ground before her.
“While I might not be your father, I make this vow to you, I will never treat you any less than if you were my own. So while I am marrying your mother today, I marry everything that comes with her. Izuku Midoriya, I vow to protect, honor, and cherish you for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to crown you as princess and see all the great things you’ll do to become a great ruler.” Toshinori said and Izuku smiled before hugging him, receiving a loud aww from the crowd before claps and cheers. Then after a few more minutes, Toshinori and Inko shared their marital kiss before escorting themselves down the aisle. Izuku now held her new fathers’ hand while they walked down. Izuku smiled as she looked upon her new family.
Later at the reception, Izuku was sitting beside her parents as they all sat on thrones watching the guest intermingle before Inko and Toshinori had to start the night by having their first dance together. But as of right now, while everybody was greeting each other, they also introduced themselves in front of the newlyweds. The first family of royals being the family that Izuku had noticed before, the family that looked so cold.
“The Todoroki family, rulers of Endeavor.” Said by Aizawa who was Toshinori’s right hand man.
The family came up all in unison. The king of Endeavor was a fairly big man with a cold expression, he looked really scary. His wife, the queen, was beautiful and elegant, but had a neutral and almost sad expression on her face, using her beautiful white hair as a cover to hide her face a bit. His children looked a mix of expressions ranging from cold, to indifferent. Except for the daughter, she kept looking at Izuku with a small but friendly smile. The oldest son was turned away, with a frown on his face as he wore the darkest shade of blue. The second oldest son looked at Toshinori with a neutral face, seeming indifferent to the event. Then there was the youngest son, he still had that same expression on his face but looked more angrier this time.
Izuku was staring at him and it must’ve caught his attention because their eyes met, in response she immediately looked away, a bit embarrassed to have been caught staring. Yet, she still turned back to look at him. He was still looking at her before his father spoke.
“Congratulations Yagi, you finally have your own family. Even if it isn’t biological.” The backhanded compliment completely surprised Inko but Toshinori just shook his head, seeming like this was the normal interaction between the two rulers.
“Well Enji, we hope you all will be in attendance for the next event which is Izuku’s coronation.” Toshinori said with a polite smile, despite holding Inko’s hand closely to him.
“Hm, yes we will come. After all, it is time for Shoto to start looking for possible matches. But we won’t be considering Izuku due to the lack of royal blood. I hope you understand.” Enji had said, causing an irritated reaction not just from Toshinori and Inko, but from his son as well. Shoto was his name, was that the whole reason why he looked so upset?
The family then curtsied/bowed before leaving the trio. Toshinori let out a sigh before speaking again, “So sorry you had to see that, that’s King Enji Todoroki. He’s not exactly the friendliest guy. I try to be polite so that our kingdoms can be at peace. We only see him for big events or for political reasons. From his reaction, I doubt he’ll want anything to do with you two which might be for the best.” Inko nodded before Aizawa announced the next family.
“The Bakugous of the Musutafu tribe.” Aizawa announced as the blonde haired boy from before was being dragged by his mother to stand in front of the newlyweds.
“Let go you old hag!” The blonde boy yelled before he was smacked in the head by his mom.
“S-Sorry about him King Yagi. We congratulate you on your marriage and thank you for inviting us.” Ruler Masaru had said while his wife and son were still fighting with each other.
“Oh yes! Sorry, we thought it was about time that Katsuki started appearing in international ceremonies and events.” Mitsuki said with a smile as Katsuki finally calmed down and looked over to see Izuku was also staring at him.
“Got a staring problem?!” He barked.
“Katsuki! That’s no way to talk to a princess!” Mitsuki slapped his head again.
“O-Oh, I’m sorry I was staring!” Izuku said nervously and that’s when Katsuki paused and looked at her better, slowly getting close to her. A little too close, to the point where they were face to face. Izuku’s cheeks turned red as he sniffed around her.
“What’s wrong?” She asked.
“Hm.” Katsuki hummed, looking into her green eyes with his red ones, thinking by the way he furrowed his brows. Then suddenly he was being dragged away by Mitsuki again.
“Why do you keep doing this?! Sorry King Yagi, again Congratulations.” Mitsuki said as she escorted Katsuki away with Masaru following her.
More families came up before it was time for Inko and Toshinori’s first dance. Afterwards royals were dancing, congregating and a lot were getting drunk. Izuku still was new to all of this so she just sat on her small throne observing it all. Specifically looking at the two boys, the difference in their personalities were striking. It made her curious about the both of them.
As the night progressed, Izuku stood by the front gates with Toshinori and Inko to say goodbye to all of those who were in attendance.
“Goodnight King Enji, we’ll see you again for the coronation!” Toshinori yelled while Enji just huffed and kept walking. As Shoto walked past Izuku, he looked back at her for a bit before shaking his head and turning forward. For a second he looked sad. It made Izuku wonder what more was causing his sadness.
Then more yells came from behind, it was prince Katsuki yelling at his mother again.
“Goodnight and Congratulations on your new marriage and family, King Yagi.” King Masaru said before Katsuki paused from the screaming match to look at Izuku again.
“Deku?” He said, wondering if she had recognized that name. Izuku looked at him confused before Katsuki scoffed and continued walking. “Hmph, I guess not.” He replied, which left Izuku even more confused.
Izuku sighed before Inko spoke again, “Well, that was wonderful Toshinori. Let’s get Izuku and ourselves ready for bed.” Toshinori nodded as they walked together back inside the palace.
Izuku walked up the steps to go to her bedchambers with a young girl following her. She had short brown hair and the cutest pink cheeks.
“Izuku, how was everything! Did you meet any cute boys?” the girl asked.
“It was weird Ochacko, a lot of these people are so strange to me.” Izuku replied as they walked into her bedroom, not having been decorated much since she lived a simple life before moving into the castle. Ochacko was now her personal maid, despite her young age she was able to get most if not everything done for Izuku, even though she refused most times. Ochako helped her get ready for bed and smiled at her.
“Who knows Izu, maybe your future husband is out there. This is something to think about now that you’ll become a princess soon!”
“Hm.. goodnight Ochako.” Izuku said as she got into bed, Uruaka walking towards the door.
“Goodnight.. Your highness” Uruaka teased before leaving Izuku to sleep
Izuku looked up at the ceiling and sighed.
“Yeah… highness.” She said to herself thinking about those two boys from before. Curiosity ate away at her before she closed her eyes and slowly drifted to sleep. Her coronation ceremony is three months away from now, and it terrified her. What could go wrong?
