   Summary

   “Ryland,” Simon murmurs eventually, drawing him out with a coaxing hand at the nape of his neck. His palm slides around to support Grace's jaw as he reluctantly lifts his head, exhausted. “Are you okay?” 

   “Yeah, I'm fine.”

   Simon's mouth presses into a thin line, his frown deepening. “You're a bad liar.”

    

   OR: A reminder of Simon's mortality opens old wounds, and sets Grace onto a spiral he can't escape from.
