Post Story 1
Lost in the woods.
Angel's POV
Krunch. Krunch. Krunch.
This was the sound that you had been hearing for… a while.
Alphys had taken her class for a mini expedition in the woods, something about nocturnal animals.
There was no threat to lead anyone away anymore, you and your found family (as they forced you to call them) dealt with IT.
Susie found the fact that they made the Heroes of Prophecy still have to go to school annoying.
She felt slightly better when she learned you, the literal Goddess of Angelism (Does nobody have good naming skills!?) (You probably couldn't come up with a good alternative), had to go to school with her.
It was… needed. Considering the only things you really knew in all the worlds you had been through (some you had no clue what the names were), you… really only learned how to fight and kill.
And die.
A lot.
… and hurt yourself.
You had gotten a lot of depressed people to control now that you think about it.
So… yeah. School. Polaris did help. Your dearest Vessel. They… basically acted as… what was the word?
Conscience, Mother.
Right. Yeah. Thanks Polaris. They did that. Helped you remember things. And told you stuff you generally shouldn't do.
They also saw you as a Mom. Which… yeah? You guess??
You did make them. Molded them to fit You. That sorta made you a parent. A (Maybe) Eldritch Time Goddess’ little Grayscale person.
You were weird. But…
They liked Us just as we are. Every mistake and crack.
Yeah.
Did not help you were lost in the woods. With your class.
It was Dark, and nobody had cellphone ‘service’.
And the phone flashlights were not very good, due to reasons.
Kris dropped theirs a lot, so the flashlight didn't work.
Noelle forgot to charge her phone. Apparently she was up late talking with Susie.
Catti's phone battery was drained (She uses it a lot)
Apparently Berdly's Mom took his phone after he stayed up too late.
The rest couldn't use a phone. Either that or they don't have one. You… didn't know.
Polaris remember to remind me to look that up
Of course Mother. We cannot deny we are also curious how some monsters use devices.
And as for your phone? You… forgot it. Yeah. One of the Thank-You-s everyone gave you for saving the world was a Phone.
You definitely didn't cry when Ms. Toriel gave it to you. Nope. Not at all.
… ok maybe you cried a little.
Either way, lost in the dark forest.
“N-Not this way either… E-Everyone stay calm! I-I know the path is around here somewhere!” Ms. Alphys stammered, to try and calm the class.
Didn't help, we were still freaking out.
“S-Someone will find us, r-right?”
“Yeah! It's not like there's anything out there…. still.”
“Tem think we all gona die!”
“T-Temmie! It is statistically unlikely anything is even in these woods after- Gah!! I take it back!”
… yeah.
“C-Class! P-Please settle down! I-If anyone has any ideas, p-please say them!”
They actually quieted. Perhaps her being with Chief Undyne has given her some self-confidence.
“I think, we Should, stay here. And wait For someone, to find us.”
“There are only demons here. Like the Wendigo. Staying here will not be good.”
“If any of those things get near, we can make Angie magic them away!”
“S-Susie! I still don't know how combat works in the Light World!”
“I could climb a tree? To see what's around?”
“That would most likely not end well. From what Mr. Asriel told Us, you are not good at climbing down.”
“... he is so getting pranked when I see him again.”
“A-All very good ideas, but we need to find the path! D-Does anyone have a light?”
“I can put my phone on max brightness?”
“Tem will draws lightblub!”
“Huzzah! We can simply use the stars to navigate!”
“That is a horrible idea. The trees. They block our sight. Do you even know which one is used? For guiding?”
“Oh, I know! I think it's called… Polaris?”
“Angie, you named your child after a star?”
“S-Susie! Well yes, but- did you have to refer to Polaris as that!?”
“Don't try to deny it! Polaris is your kid!”
“S-Snowy!”
“I-I don't think your phone will be strong enough Kris.”
“Damm.”
“Wait, can't Angel glow?”
Awkward silence
“... I can't believe we forgot that.”
“Angie! Start glowing!”
“Uh- Okay?”
You close your eyes. You take a deep breath in.
Inhale….
and exhale…
inhale….
exhale…
“Dude, whatever you are trying isn't working.”
“I think she is just breathing.”
“W-Well, I don't know how to glow on command! It-It's like… uhm…”
“Instinct? It's where you just do it without thinking.”
“Yeah! Incsingc!”
“Good enough.”
“So, like, What did you feel, when you glew?”
“Uhm… like … wind was passing through me… like I was… being hugged…”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“Tem think dat nice!”
“So…”
“None of us. Are going to hug you.”
“P-Perhaps we should try to make Angel feel the same way she did when she started!”
“...”
“We believe she wants you to mimic the conditions Angel felt.”
“Y-Yes! P-Polaris, what caused The-er, Angel to glow?”
“We believe it was tension, darkness, and a threat.”
“Well, it's already dark. And kinda tense.”
“So we need to make Angel think there's a threat?”
“I don't like this idea.”
“She also sealed Dark Fountains without threats, so…. is it not dark enough?”
“We can only see each other's eyes though.”
“Let's make it dark around Angel!”
“Yeah! Here, take my jacket, and cover your face with it!”
“Mmmpht!”
“... Susie, that's Catti.”
“Oh… sorry.”
“Angel has red eyes-”
From the sound, Susie threw her jacket at someone else again.
“... I think that was Kris.”
“Mm-hm.”
“Mine have stars in them Susi-”
Everything goes dark… you couldn't see much anyways.
“We do not believe this is working.”
You can't hear their response. Well you do, it's just very muffled.
It also doesn't really do much. You don't feel like glowing.
... Susie is not letting go. We cannot relay that it isn't working.
Wait. Let me just…
It's dark in here ❤️ This isn't working
Susie flinches, and the jacket falls off of you.
“Jeez! Don't do that! Feels like you're tapping my Soul.”
“Yeah.”
“Tem feels funy”
“Urg…”
“S-Sorry! You wouldn't let go Susie…”
“Nah, it's fine. Shouldn't have held it on you.”
“P-Polaris… any ideas on… why that didn't work?”
“We are unsure. Perhaps we didn't feel it was dark enough.”
“The light also comes from Angel, not Polaris.”
“That is correct.”
“So what do we do? How do we make it dark around Angel?”
Awkward silence. Seems nobody has any ideas…
“tem knoes! we make heart thinngy dark!”
“... wait. Make Angel’s Soul dark?”
“That might work. But I doubt a jacket. Could do the job.”
“Uhm…”
“Yeah it's Susie's, Angel wouldn't be scared of her.”
“I'm not taking my cloak off.”
“What if Jockington and Temmie put their hats around her Soul? She doesn't know them.”
“...”
“... that… is stupid.”
“tem think it good idae!”
“That's so cool! Let's, do it!”
“... alright. Let me… take Me out…”
You raise your hand up to the level your chest is at. You breath in… and out…
You push your arm through.
With enough Willpower… it phases through
You reach deep into Polaris… trying to feel where your Soul is… where You are…
... ah. There You are…
You pull Yourself out. You are still connected to Polaris’ chest with… little strings? Tethers? Whatever they are, they are from your Soul.
... you can actually see them in the dark. So it's just a bunch of eyes, and… a red Soul with strings…
“... woah.”
“That's what a, human Soul Looks like? Cool!”
“Interesting! So Human Souls have the tip facing downwards?”
“That's not a human Soul.”
“What? What do you mean Snowy?”
“... Human Souls and Monster Souls are the same size…”
“... Angel's Soul is bigger than one should be.”
“Dude, how do you know that?”
“...”
“Oh! Wait, remembered…. Sorry for asking dude.”
“... let's just. Try the hat thing.”
You hear noise. You carefully adjust how You are held. You let Yourself dangle from the tethers.
“R-Right… hats going around now.”
... it's dark.
Really Dark
You can't see. You can't feel.
You can barely hear.
But it's just your classmates…
But you aren't sure
You need to know
You need to see
You need to GLOW!!!
“Woah! S-She's glowing!”
The hats are removed. You can see everyone again.
Noelle is holding onto Susie. She must have been scared of the dark, and went to Susie as her protector.
Susie is trying her best to not look amazed… she's also missing her jacket. Did she never pick it up?
Kris is staring at You. You… kinda forgot that they were forced to get a haircut recently. You can see their red eyes.
Ms. Alphys is in front of you, holding Jockington and Temmie's hats. Seems she was the one who put them around You.
Catti is off to the right, with Jockington (and his beard). You could tell Catti was trying to not look amazed. And Jockington was… smiling coolly. He also had his shades on still
MK and Snowy were watching from the side. … right. They never saw you… glow. You think. It's hard to remember. They both look like You are the most interesting thing.
And Temmie is… wait where's Temmie?
Wha-!?
Temmie is just under You. … right. Cat instincts. Red dot maybe?
Everyone takes a moment to adjust to the sudden Light You are giving off.
Susie squints, rubs her yellow eyes a little, and looks away from You directly.
“That's… amazing…” MK slowly said, watching in pure wonder.
“It feels… warm.” Snowy added.
“... how pure.” Catti told you. She probably understood it had the opposite feeling a demon would have… probably.
“Sick job Angel!” Jockington happily exclaimed, smiling wide.
“Feels like… everything will… be okay…” Noelle said, as if reciting from a script… did your Light … really feel like that?
“W-Well! That's certainly…. amazing. I wonder how much lux You are giving off…” Alphys said, trailing off. Guess she even does that here…
“W-Well, either way! We all can see now! Y-You okay with your Soul being out, Th- Angel?”
“Yeah… I'm fine. It's… like I'm a little distant from … everything, but… I'm fine.” You say. It feels … dreamy…
“... I know this area. It's… we went around Hometown? This is the opposite side of where the school is.” Kris explained.
“... How did that happen???” Berdly asked, confused out of his mind. You… don't exactly blame him. That was very impressive you all managed to do such a thing.
“We think… Kris should… lead the wayyyy…” You felt Polaris say… seems You being out of them is having effects.
“... Sure Polaris. Whatever you say….” Kris replied.
