Summary
The room she was in was large, the relatively open space letting Florence know that this must have been the cafeteria of the ship. Only now, instead of white walls and uncomfortable metal dining seating, the whole place was covered in a sprawling black material that shone in the partially covered fluorescent lighting. In the center of the room, scattered around haphazardly were countless egg locking objects. The tops of some of them were open like a flower to reveal the sticky, gooey insides while others were shut tightly, only the occasional pulse to show that they weren't dormant. Against the walls, spread eagle and held up like pinned butterflies were a dozen other men and women. All of them with lolling heads and slow eyes that showed they were just as disoriented as she felt.
