Book 2 of Surprise of The Century
TL;DR:
1. Maomao had a cryptic pregnancy. (If you're about to protest, read Book 1 first. Short explanation: it was the author's decision)
2. The baby was born in the Medical Pavilion. Her official name is Chenzi, though everyone calls her Xixi.
3. Xixi had everyone wrapped around her tiny fingers from the very beginning.
4. Maomao reconnected with Lakan, who eventually gave the marriage his blessing. He still finds every opportunity to mess with Jinshi, though.
5. Maomao's colleagues learned what happened before the news became public and became fiercely protective of her.
6. Uncle Hao died. To resolve his own clan’s succession issue, Jinshi was adopted into Anshi's clan.
7. Jinshi and Maomao got married.
8. Jinshi was officially released from the imperial family.
9. Jinshi received his own clan name. (remember: Anshi's family never had one because the Emperor couldn't stand Hao)
10. Jinshi was appointed to govern Shihoku, will officially assume the Prime Minister's duties, and was granted the clan name Lin. (I wasn't about to make him poor. 😂)
11. The smut got promoted to Book 2.Series
