The slam of the gavel didn’t even register. He’d barely even heard the rest of the judge’s sentencing after that damning number: sixty two counts of murder.

“Are you sure the Sub-3 prison is the best place for him?” he overheard some woman asking, somewhere not far to his side. “Shouldn’t he be in some, I don’t know, omega prison?”
“There isn’t an omega prison,” a man, his voice older and gruff, answered. “There’s only the one prison. But I’m sure they’ll figure something out.”
“Or, if they don’t,” another man spoke up, the particular lisp of an alpha pronounced in this one. “It’s not like he doesn’t deserve what’ll happen to him.”
