Work Text:
Janis is rudely awoken by the sound of rocks clinking against her window.
she sits up in her bed, glancing at her alarm clock.
the bright numbers flashing 4:25 mocking her.
she gets up, and walks up the the window that's next to the bed.
she unlocks the window, opening it.
a small pebble hits her in the face.
"ow, what the?" Janis mutters, looking a the rock on the floor.
she looks outside the window, and sees Regina George.
"hi! can i come in?" Regina yells from outside.
Janis takes a breath, then yells back "sure, I'll unlock the front door."
in most circumstances she'd say no, but 4 AM isn't exactly a time for reasonable thinking.
she exits her room, sneaking downstairs.
she unlocks the front door and opens it.
she's greeted by Regina standing there, swaying in place.
a strong smell of alcohol radiating from her.
"hi, Jan." Regina says, walking into the house.
"Jan? you haven't called me that since middle school." Janis mumbles taking in her wobbly stance.
"are you drunk right now?" Janis asks, grabbing Regina by her shoulders.
Regina lets out a small giggle and leans into Janis's touch.
"i missed you." Regina mutters, resting her head on Janis's shoulder.
"yeah. definitely drunk." Janis mutters.
"so why are you here?" Janis asks, helping Regina stay up straight.
"i missed you." Regina says, pausing for a moment staring into the other girls eyes.
"i missed us, Janis." Regina mutters, leaning into Janis.
"i know you probably hate me, but can you pretend to like me, just for tonight?" Regina asks, keeping eye contact with Janis.
Janis stares at her for a moment thinking.
she lets out a small breath.
"fine. but you're not running off tomorrow and we're gonna talk about this." Janis says, earning a small nod from Regina.
Janis hauls Regina to her bedroom, setting Regina down on her bed.
"Wait here. I'll go get you some water." Janis says, turning to exit the room.
"Be quick." Regina shouts from the bed.
"Yeah, yeah I will." Janis mutters while leaving the room.
Regina looks around the room, posters on every wall, clothes scattered on the floor, bed unmade.
just like when they we're friends.
she flops onto her side, pulling one of the blankets over herself.
she lets out a small hum of satisfaction.
"still smells like her." Regina mutters, resting her head on Janis's pillow.
Regina stays cuddled up underneath Janis's blankets, waiting for the girls return.
Janis eventually returns with a glass of water.
"im back." Janis says, sitting on her bed.
Regina sits up, wrapping her arms around Janis from behind, resting her head on the girls shoulder.
"i want you to know im sorry." Regina mutters, pausing for a moment, staring at the cup.
she continues.
"for everything. im so fucking sorry." Regina says, her voice soft and guilt ridden.
Janis stares at at her for a moment, unsure how to respond.
"its fine, i guess." Janis mutters. it wasn't fine. it was never fine, but she couldn't bring herself to tell Regina that.
Regina places a small kiss on the shorter girls neck, causing a small blush on her face.
Regina reaches her arm around Janis and grabs the cup.
she takes a big sip of the water, then puts the cup on the small table that's next to the bed.
"c'mon, cuddle me, now." Regina demands, her arms wrapping around janis.
"jeez, you're clingy today." janis mutters, trying to hide her fluster.
Janis lets Regina pull her down.
Regina quickly spoons her, wrapping her arms around Janis's waist.
"god, how I've missed you." Janis mutters, as Regina kissing the back of her neck.
Janis winces as she feels Regina bite down.
Regina gently sucks, earing a small squeak from Janis.
Regina releases her teeth from Janis.
"i want you." Regina says, her grip tightens on Janis.
Janis gives a small chuckle.
"well, you can take me when you're not drunk. get some rest please." Janis says, putting her hands on Regina's.
Regina rests her head back on Janis's shoulder.
"fine. i can wait." Regina says shutting her eyes.
Janis stares at her as she falls asleep.
she didn't want this to end but she knew in was inevitable.
she knew Regina would scram the second she woke.
she was used to being left alone anyways.
Janis shuts her eye, wishing this moment would never end.
Janis slowly drifts awake, an orange glow lighting the room from the window.
she shifts to get out of bed, but a hand grabs her wrist before she can leave.
she turns back, Regina is still in her bed.
"you stayed. you actually stayed." Janis says in shock.
"yup, just like i promised. now get back here, im still tired." Regina mutters, tugging on Janis's arm.
a smile creeps onto Janis's face as she climbs back into bed, snuggling back up with Regina.
"you know, i really did miss you." Regina mutters, wrapping her arms back around Janis.
"i hate to admit it, but i missed you too." Janis says, her body relaxing in Regina's embrace.
the two spend the day together, mostly just catching up and talking.
Regina leaves Janis at the end of the day to go home.
the two have hope for the future after that day.
