Chapter Text
2014, November 22nd
“Flux,” A voice said from his earpiece that he recognized as Cass. “If you turn left at the upcoming crossroads, you can sneak up on the targets.”
”Roger that,” Flux responded to her. He hesitated but then spoke again. “Cass, if… if I don’t make it out alive, can you… can you tell Saps to look in the locked drawer in my room?”
After a moment, she replied to him.
“Sure, Flux.” She answered.
He wouldn’t actually die. Fluixon was one of the best agents.
He had to live.
For Saps.
For his family.
He kept alert for any possible signs of the criminals hiding. They were some of the most wanted criminals, with bounties over $10,000.
“F—…!” A staticky voice from his earpiece screeched. The signal was bad, he couldn’t tell what they were saying. He could guess that that was Thomas, his voice sounded kind of similar.
”I can’t hear you! You’re breaking up!” Flux said.
”Th—… cri—… BE—IND y—…ou!” The voice cried out.
Before Flux could even turn around a bullet had shot him in the back.
”FUCK!” He screamed.
”FL—!!… B—CK..UP—COMING!” The staticky voice of Thomas said urgently.
”Thomas,” Flux stuttered out. “I don’t think I’m making it to tomorrow.”
”No!— NO—..NO!” He screeched out.
”Tell.. Tell Saps… that I love h—…” Flux quietly replied, taking his last breath.
Thomas and Cass were already driving to Flux‘s location.
”Oh my fucking god. I fucked up the directions. He was supposed to go right.” Cass suddenly realized.
Thomas was silent for a few moments.
“Cass? We can… we can save him, right?” Thomas desperately asked.
Cass was silent, and that was enough of an answer.
They didn’t talk the whole car ride after that
Thomas ran towards Flux’s unmoving body.
”Fluixon!” He cried, “You..— you can’t die on me!… You can’t die on Saps!”
No response.
“Flux— Flux!” Thomas quietly sobbed.
Cass walked over and checked his heartbeat.
”Thomas, he’s dead,” Cass said, her voice cracking.
”He— he can’t be! He… promised! He promised Saps he wouldn’t die!” Thomas yelled.
”I’m.. I’m sorry,Thomas!” She snapped on accident.
His eyes went wide.
”Sorry. I just… I just don’t believe he would die like that.” Cass apologized.
“Me too.” He says quietly.
“…Saps,” Cass called out.
He turned around. “Yeah?”
“How do I say this…” She muttered to herself. “Flux is… dead.”
Saps froze.
Flux is dead? There’s no way. He promised he’d live. He promised that when I joined.
He had to tell me something after this mission, too.
Why did he have to die?
“Wha—… What do you mean… what do you mean he’s dead?!” Saps yelled, fighting tears.
”He was shot in the back a few times, and it was my fault! I told him to go left!” Cass cried.
He couldn’t stop the tears.
“Oh, Saps…” Cass said quietly.
He wasn’t brave enough to tell Flux that he loved him. And now he can’t, even if he wanted to.
”…About 30 minutes before he died, he told me if he did die to tell you to look in the locked drawer of his desk.” Cass told him.
He sniffled. “‘Kay.”
In the drawer, there were letters, all addressed to him. Some dating back to when Saps first joined the spy agency.
2012, January 15th
My dear Saps,
I don’t reckon you’ll ever receive or read these letters, but nonetheless, I must tell something about my feelings for you, even if it’s a piece of paper.
I grew up with divorced parents. I thought as a kid, if I didn’t love anybody, I wouldn’t have to go through breakups or divorces.
And I stuck with that mindset. Through middle school and high school.
But that all changed when I met you.
You are like the sunshine I never had in my life.
You are like the missing piece of me.
I can’t even describe what I’m feeling.
When I’m with you, everything feels right, without, it feels weird. Like I’ve just lost a piece of myself.
You are the light in my dark world.
You are my everything, Saps.
And I hope you feel the same.
Even if you don’t ever read these letters.
Even if you think I’m an asshole.
Even if I’m dead.
Yours Forever,
Fluixon

My Dearest Saps,
I love you, more than anyone else in this world.
More than anything else in this world.
You are my sunshine. You are my light. You are my God, my universe. You are my world.
You are everything to me.
And I’m willing to do anything for you.
Sometimes, I imagine us married, with children.
I can’t even find the words to express how much I love you.
You are perfect, and I love you.
And I hope you love me too.
Yours Forever,
Fluixon
He read every single one. It went on to 2013, too. He’d even start to call him little pet names, like sunshine, and darling.
he wished that he could call him that now.
2013, June 3rd
My sunshine,
You held my hand today. Did you know your hands are warm?
I hope my hands weren’t too cold.
My God, you’re so cute.
I love you.
So much.
I love you so much.
I love you so much that if we reincarnate as different people, I’ll still love you.
I will always find you.
My darling.
My sunshine.
My God.
My universe.
My everything.
Yours Forever,
Fluixon
The letters were so sweet.
2014, March 1st
My sunshine,
I’m thinking of confessing soon. I hope you don’t reject me.
I think I’d die if you did.
Thomas tells me it’s a good idea. He’s sort of right all the time. I’ll do it sometime this year.
I just want you to be mine, my love.
I love you.
Forever, till the end of time, my universe.
Yours Forever,
Fluixon
There was one even dating today.
when he died.
2014, November 22nd
My darling Saps,
I might confess to you after this mission.
Tell you everything I’ve been to scared to say.
I’m writing this letter before my mission, so it’s very rushed.
I love you, my dear.
Yours Forever,
Fluixon
The paper had little tears on them.
