Work Text:
Silas stirs in his sleep, waking up in a daze still sitting in his room’s armchair like nothing happened. He must’ve fallen asleep rather quickly despite not having anything to eat from that… strange dinner service. Silas shakes his head, he shouldn’t dwell on that too long. Yes it was weird but he’s here for much important things. Like Lord Byewill’s diamond. Tucked away in the museum. It’s not like Silas is going to do anything major! All he’s going to do is get a quick final look before retreating back to his quarters… Perhaps with a oddly diamond shaped object in his pocket. Who knows right?
Silas smoothens out his crimson vest, tugging his dark gloves and fixing his crooked glasses before he steps out of his room. Looking both ways before turning to his left, beginning to walk down the hallway. Though he stops, looking behind him to the room right across from his.
It was his hall mate’s room.
Oskar Rex.
Surely, it wouldn’t hurt to pay the man such a short visit, right?
He’s been meaning to talk to him in a much more… private setting anyways.
Silas twists his heel and starts walking to Oskar’s room door, rapping the pristine wood rather carefully as to not wake up any other people in the hall. The walls were rather quite thin and…
He would much prefer if nobody else was up this night anyways.
After knocking on Oskar’s door he waits a little, shifting in place before raising his hand to knock again, mouth opening to ask “Is anyone home?” in a joking manner. Perhaps it was a good thing he didn’t have to as Oskar’s door cracks opening, purple eyes staring at him vibrantly despite the man’s age.
He looked just as striking as ever.
Once Rex realizes who’s at his door he opens it more widely, leaning into the doorframe, arm crossed.
His fingerless gloves off.
Silas tries his best to control the feverish smile on his face but it’s damn near impossible. He covers it with a fake cough, a fist surfacing up infront of his mouth to feign normalcy. Oskar cocks his head to his right, eyebrow raising.
“Silas? You’re up late… Is something the matter?” Oskar says, voice hush due to the hour of the night.
Silas smiles despite his best effects and mirrors Oskar’s pose easily, letting out a soft chuckle. “Do I truly need a reason to visit a old friend Oskar? I was on my way to the museum when I realized I haven’t talked to you as much as I would’ve liked.”
Oskar hums, an amused smile climbs it’s way to Oskar’s face. Gentle wrinkles surrounding his eyes like fireflies. “Oh really now?” He states, huffing a laugh when Silas nods his head, smirking to himself. “Well then,” He leans off the doorframe and takes a step back, opening his door more greatly from the edge. “Step right in Silas.” Silas hums.
“Why of course.”
Silas walks right in, Oskar stepping away as Silas closes the door behind him, the closing sound surprisingly quiet in comparison to the thin walls. Whatever, it doesn’t matter anyways.
Silas locks the door and follows Oskar deeper in his room.
“Wow... Your room is quite huge isn't it? Definitely bigger than mine, haha..” Silas says in awe, he knew Rex was rich but it is always a sight to see just how rich. Standing in front of his bed, Oskar chuckles.
“Well, a man of my status deserves to have something a little nice now doesn’t he? I’d say the room is absolutely perfect, don’t you agree Silas?” Silas merely sighs a laugh, waltzing in front of Oskar in circle, hands behind his back until he stops right in front of him, grin displayed.
“I would only assume so Rex.” Silas replies and Oskar gives him a look, his eyebrow back up as he gives a lopsided smile.
“Rex? My, my Silas,” He tuts, shaking his head in false disappointment as he crosses his arm once again, a finger tapping on his upper arm slowly. His dress shirt clinging tight on his arms, making the hairs on Silas’ neck shiver and stand up. “I thought we were close! You wound me.” He mocks, feigning a deep hurt before chuckling to himself in amusement.
Silas laughs too, voice low and smooth regardless of his drinking and smoking habits. “Don’t worry, I only tease. You are a close friend of mine, fret not.” Oskar grins.
“I’m glad I am.”
Silas rolls his eyes in amusement before reminding himself why he ever knocked on Oskar’s door in the first place.
The diamond.
Silas nibbles on his lip.
He opens his mouth to say it, how he’s going to the museum, planning to stealing the diamond right from Byewill’s nose.
Strangely though he doesn’t, changing the topic at the very last minute.
“The dinner service. It was weird was it not?” He asks and Oskar hums in agreement.
“Yes… It was most definitely… odd to say the least. But it could’ve been worse.” He proposes, walking up to Silas and reaching an arm out. Fingers fiddling with his bow tie. “We could’ve been served the wine only, I’m sure that would go well with the other guests.” He jokes, shifting his weight in his feet as he uses both of his hands to undue Silas’ tie now, fingers grazing his neck a dangerous amount of times. Silas swallows thickly and Oskar swipes his tongue across his lips, an easy grin on his face.
Christ this man will be the death of him.
“What… Do you think you’re perhaps doing Oskar..?” He asks, clearing his throat to remove any shakiness in his voice. It doesn’t work obviously, given the barely hidden snort Oskar shakes out.
“Just fixing your tie. It’s crooked and it’s been bothering me all day.” That makes Silas falter.
“C- Crooked?! And nobody dared to tell me? Why I’m…” He doesn’t want to say embarrassed but that is exactly what he is feeling… How come nobody told him?! He spoke to multiple people and not one word from anyone?! Goodness the nerves of some people…
Rex laughs at Silas’ realization, mirth swimming in his gem adjacent eyes. “Don’t beat yourself over it Silas, I’m sure I’m the only one who noticed anyways, it’s only slightly crooked. Just barely noticeable. And besides,” He finishes tying Silas’ bow tie but doesn’t let go, two fingers pinched between the material, “I think you look much better with the tie off if anything else.” He mutters, eyelids dropping as his gaze goes from the tie to Silas’ eyes then lip.
Silas wets them.
“Oh really now?” He questions and Oskar nods in agreement.
“Really.”
Silas chuckles softly.
“Want to test that theory Rex?”
The man in question cracks a smirk.
“Gladly.”
And pulls loose Silas’ tie. Tossing it to the floor as he tugs Silas forward from his vest collar.
It’s hard to keep a straight thought when Oskar Rex himself reduces to nothing but a mere puddle when he's on him, but Silas can’t blame him.
He’s been secretly wanting this all day.
Silas’ hands immediately wrap around Oskar’s waist, giving it a firm squeeze as the man’s hand wander from his chest to his hair, gripping it tightly and sending shivers to Silas’ spine. Silas parts away from Rex only to dive right back in, turning his head to the side as he steps forward, bringing Oskar with him. He feels the man hum into his mouth in satisfaction — like he always does — once they hit the bed, kissing him like a starved animal as the two slowly descend onto the bed, hands traveling each other like it’ll be the last.
It will most certainly not be.
You see, ever since Silas has known Rex, the two have sort of established a rather… Ah, how should he put this… Scandalous affair with each other. Nothing too serious — if the golden ring that belongs to Oskar, sitting abandoned on his night stand as the two continue with their endeavors says anything — and nothing too much. And they certainly don’t make this little exchange a habit between them. At least not too often anyways. Because…
It was dangerous.
It was insane.
It was punishable.
It was exhilarating.
They continue this take and give for what seems like forever. Hair becoming messy, outfits becoming wrinkle, and lips becoming bruised as one of Silas’ hands travel from Oskar’s waist to his thigh, rubbing slow circles as he slips in a tongue, causing Rex to stiffen in surprise before relaxing automatically. One of his hands that was busy curling Silas’ hair falling down his face. Making it’s way down his jaw, his neck, his shoulders, and lingering on his forearm to feel lean muscle before stopping right on his wrist. Oskar was tapping his pulse point methodically until he stops, sliding part of his hand under Silas’ sleeve as a finger crept it’s way over his golden watch and under his glove. Taking the glove off inch bye inch all while Silas could feel Oskar kiss him with a stupid smile on his face. Like it was so easy, like everything he was doing was nothing.
It’s enough to make a grown man go damn insane.
Hell, Silas is about to go insane.
He grunts and kisses him deeper, one hand gripping Rex’s waist as the other maintains a firm hold on his thigh. The same could go for Oskar. He has Silas in a hold, the bare hand that was still in his hair had slid to his jaw, cradling his face as the other hand had fully taken off one of Silas’ glove.
Palm touching palm.
Skin touching skin.
How maddening it was to be held like this. And how frustrating it was to never have this moment be never ending.
Eventually the two pull apart and lean their foreheads together, eyes fluttering but never opening. Their lips were pink and swollen, breathing seemingly non-existent for them as they both gasped for air, and their faces aflame as a thin saliva train connecting their lips broke off, the whole moment as fragile as that single line.
Silas opens his eyes first and wishes he never needs to close them again.
Unfortunately this moment doesn’t last forever, no matter how many times Silas wishes it to be and Oskar pulls away from the white hair man. A hand on his torso and Oskar’s eyes finally flutter open, his other hand brushing past his lips to clean them of saliva.
“Well,” He starts, “that certainly was fun was it Silas? But I’m afraid it’s getting too late. You… You should head back before someone spots you leaving my room.” Oskar states and Silas is mad he’s right. He should leave before a passerby comes through and sees Silas leave his room in this state. Hair mused, clothes creased, and lips swollen and pink. God knows what will happen then.
Silas nods and latches away from Oskar, smoothening out his clothes yet again as his hall mate hands him back his removed glove. Silas puts it on and is just about to leave when Oskar grabs him by the wrist suddenly, his grip firm.
“Oskar?” Silas calls out, twirling his head and– Oh.
Oskar is giving him his bow tie back.
Oskar is tying his bow tie back. Doing loops and knots and he angles it to make sure it sits right and straight on Silas’ chest.
Oskar. Oskar Rex is giving him a sheepish smile as he dusts off the imaginary particles off of Silas’ tie and outfit, giving his ‘Goodnights.’ as he gently closes the door in Silas’ face.
Oh.
Silas huffs and fixes his hair. There’s no point in trying to decode that interaction after their kiss, in trying to decode Oskar’s face and why he fixed his tie in the first place. In none of it.
Afterall.
He has a diamond to steal.
