Summary
Dante's suddenly a saint; his voice softens as he walks over to Vergil, bringing his hands to cup his face. Neither of them seems to mind that he smears Nero's blood on Vergil's cheek. "You shouldn't be up, Vergil. Just look how pale you are. Go back to bed, and I'll be right there. Just gonna teach the kid some manners first"
"Nero is still young. He doesn't yet understand", Vergil appeals.
Dante's eyes darken, and he yanks Vergil closer by the neck. "Don't you start with me, too"
Nero expects Vergil to hiss and spit like he always does, but instead, Vergil lowers his head in piety that doesn't suit him one bit. "As you say"Nero, unknowingly, triggers his father's heat while Dante is away. He seizes the opportunity and pays the price in a multitude of ways. A peculiar family dynamic ensues in consequence.
