Summary
He leapt out of bed and threw the blanket off of him. It was his second day in the Town, and Daniil's latest mission was to prevent himself from falling in love with Artemy.
As he approached the graveyard once again, the fat raindrops periodically hitting his coat didn't surprise him. He'd lived through this twice already, once before he harnessed the flow of time and once after, and the third iteration played out the same way as the ones prior.
Daniil watched Artemy, the heir apparent with no inheritance, scowling with the proud brow of a Byronic hero—withering alone, as if he were the last of his race. His allegedly-bloodied fists trembled at his sides, knuckles blanched like Isidor's shrouded corpse. It was more difficult to stomach his display of grief now that he knew Artemy as more than the Ripper.
Ignore it, Dankovsky. To you, he might as well be the Ripper. That'd be for the best.
