Summary
In another life, Sirius wonders what it would be like if one of them were an alpha and they could take care of each other in the traditional sense, could maybe just bond as friends and never have to separate themselves. In these dreams, Remus is almost always the alpha, despite Sirius' loathing of his second sex he struggles to imagine himself as anything but an omega. As an alpha, he would have done his family's bidding and followed along, might never would have learned how ingrained his value is in his presentation.
And if he were an alpha he wouldn't have this, Remus with him, tucking him close and holding him, giving him what he needs. Who knows what his life would be like if he didn't have Remus.
(Or, Sirius Black has no interest in settling down: he's perfectly happy with his life as a bachelor; he gets to live with his best friend in the whole world, and gets to do what he wants, when he wants. But when he and Remus end up pregnant at the same time due to a fluke of fate, settling down might not be so bad after all.)
