Summary
In most of his letters to Naruto, Sasuke is very concise and purposefully vague. If ever another ninja were to intercept them, his hope is that they'd think his postscripts were code for something. They are not. Just domestic instructions on how to maintain their shared apartment. If Sasuke needs to communicate something pressing, important or more personal, he sends it by bird in a code only him and his Hokage understand.
If a ninja were to intercept Naruto's letters, they'd be fucked on all fronts. His are pages upon pages of rants and scribbled out sections. Some are mundane recounts of his week, some are exciting stories of impromptu missions, some are explicit and full of longing in a way that only a trained eye could recognize.
Sometimes, Sasuke thinks about what future historians will make of their relationship if the only thing left of them is their letters without the added context of their notes. He fears that they'll know of Naruto's love and assume it was unrequited. It's a frightening thought honestly.
Or, Sasuke fears that his love for Naruto isn't as obvious as Naruto's love for him.
