Summary
Deeqa forgets things — whole years, whole faces — unless she photographs them. Luul doesn’t let people photograph her at all, not since she learned what it costs to become someone else’s story. They fall for each other slowly, at a zoo, over a rescued cheetah neither of them can stop coming back to.
Then Deeqa gets the chance to put her work and Luul in a gallery. And she forgets, just once, to ask which parts of Luul were ever hers to give away.
