The coming fears that wait for all and cannot be ignored

Summary:

The Great Fear Entities live right outside our world, trying to push into our reality while feeding on the passive fears they get.
But, if they have their eyes on you, you can't escape. Immortality and machinery can't stop you from serving your new Gods.

Or The Mechs become avatars
Title inspired by one of the names for The End

Notes:

Helloooooo I had thisidea of if the mechs were actual avatars and you know what? why not!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Everchase

Notes:

Hello! I was wondering what entity each of the mechs would represent when I noticed I can easily get to 14 if I count characters like Scuzz in the mains- which means I can make each of them an avatar of a different entity.
SO HERE WE ARE!
TWs for chapter one- patricide, hunting, murder, attempted murder, implied suicide, Hunt avatar Jonny (yes, he's his own warning)

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Ugh. Nothing to do. Nothing but listening to the chips clinking and roulettes spinning as Jonny waited for Jack to approach, giving him another target, another life that could make his blood boil with anticipation for the kill.

It didn’t take long, even if it felt like years for Jonny.

Jack. That horrid man, ruining lives of all who stepped into his casino. But questioning it wasn’t Jonny’s job. He just needed to… take care of whoever refused to pay. And he was happy enough to do that.

So he didn’t question it when Jack gave him the location. He never would.

Jonny simply got up and ran out, stalking through the hot streets of New Texas, blood already pumping as he approached the location he was given. He got to the place quickly enough, no one daring stop him. And waited in the shadows, making sure his gun was loaded.

As soon as the victim stepped into the shadows, Jonny could hear the blood, the heartbeats.

He clicked the safety off.

And the chase was on.

Running, following the person who ran with the hope of getting just a minute more to live.

Hopeless. Jonny knew that his prey wouldn’t get away. They ran, hiding where they could, never enough to get away from the predator chasing him ceaselessly throughout the night.

He shot as soon as they were cornered, like all his prey ended up. The Blood was so strong, overwhelming his senses and thoughts as he made the kill. The rush left his body in a rush when the prey fell dead at his feet. Only then did Jonny crouch next to the body, eager to see whose life he’d just ended.

It was… no.

No.

Couldn’t be.

For the first time since Jonny first killed, his hand shook as he held up the gun and shot the body enough that Jonny couldn’t recognize him anymore, couldn’t feel the lifeless gaze of his father judging him for what he’d just done to him. So caught up in the chase he couldn’t see what he even chased. He needed to do something, get away, hunt, just forget it. Forget it all happened. He hated him. He’d always hated his dad. Wanted him dead, at his hands even. So why couldn’t he stop crying now? Why couldn’t he fucking think? Why did he feel like his own fucking prey? Why did he feel the need to hunt down every part of him that couldn’t fucking agree with him?!

With what, he didn’t even know anymore- He could only feel his own heart pumping the blood that made him ache for another hunt, another kill. He needed- he needed to do something, to run, to- something! And still he couldn’t tell. He couldn’t fucking tell if he was hunting or prey. He just… In his desperation, Jonny’s still shaking hand held his gun closer as he shot his lifelong prey.

He woke up with an unbearable pain shooting through his chest and pure instinct shooting through his whole body and mind, aching for another fucking chase, just like he’d always been. A woman stood next to where he was, looking fixedly at the man. Scanning the room, Jonny saw a scalpel. Close enough to him.

As quickly as he could, he grabbed it and swung at the woman with the precision of someone who took lives for fun. She grabbed his arm, her strong grip not letting him move. He pulled it away in desperation, but she didn’t budge.

“I’m not really the one you want to hunt, am I?” S

he said, before letting him go. And handing him his gun, still loaded.

He didn’t hesitate, the smell of his new prey so strong it didn’t leave room for any doubt. He needed to kill, he needed to hunt, needed to make sure that asshole got out of the pedestal he put himself in.

Jack smiled when he saw Jonny. A smug, disgusting grin.

“Hello, Jonny. Apologies for the deception…”

He started, throwing out excuses. But Jonny wasn’t listening. All he listened was the Blood.

So he drew his gun.

The terror in Jack’s eyes were the most delicious thing Jonny had seen in forever, maybe. The fear feeding him, giving him strength.

And he pulled the trigger, letting the Blood consume his mind and thoughts forever as he braced already for the next hunt.
