Work Text:
It's been a tough few days, months, years? you hadn't been keeping track. All you knew was that you'd been going through too much for too long.
You stood in the centre of your room, falling to your knees, tears flowing like a river. If you had to breathe in here, you'd probably be hyperventilating. You clutch your heart, no, where your heart would be if you had one. You squeeze your eyes shut, trying to distract yourself from this hell you've been enduring the whole time you've been stuck in the circus.
You knew you'd be stuck here forever, so you'd stopped trying to leave. There wasn't a point, and as much to escape, you knew you couldn't. The closest thing to escaping was the sweet release of abstraction.
Abstraction. You knew it wasn't a good idea to do it so impulsively, but what else was there to do? Just spend an eternity stuck inside a computer? Besides, abstraction was basically inevitable in here, it was going to happen one way or another.
The darkness you saw behind your closed eyes was replaced by swirling, vibrant colours. For something that was meant to be death, it was odldy calming. Your left leg was what you felt transform into a mess of eyes and darkness first, followed by the other leg and both your arms. It spread up to your torso, then your neck, and just got up to your chin when the door opened.
It was Gangle. She'd always come and check on you every once in a while, making sure you weren't abstracting.
She was too late this time.
Her comedy mask fell from her face, shattering on the floor. She didn't know what to do, she just stared up at you. She took a few steps closer to you, extending a cautious hand out to you.
You wanted to place her hand in yours, you wanted to tell her that you're fine, you wanted to hug her and tell her that you'd make sure to never abstract to give her some peace of mind. But you couldn't. You'd lost all control of your monstrous form, and you found yourself roaring at her and chasing her out into the hallway.
She ran as fast as she could, trying and trying to get away, but it was of no use. You tried to stop yourself, but you just kept getting faster and faster.
Then you caught her.
You couldn't do anything to control the creature you'd become. Agaisnt your will, your body started attacking Gangle, your legs pounding down on her fragile ribbon body. She screamed your name, begging you to stop, and you wished you could. You tried to speak, to tell her that you can't control this new form, to apologise to her, but all that left your mouth was an animal-sounding roar. You watched in horror as she abstracted becuase you.
You felt like a monster, and technically, you were. You looked at the abstracted standing directly in front of you. The one that you made abstract. She was fine until you did this. You would cry, but instead you just stood there. She did to, and both of your many eyes lay on each other's new form. You both stayed that way for a while, not knowing how to react, when suddenly you heard a voice above.
"And into the cellar you go!"
