Chapter Text
"Beware the Spectator"
Fear not the one who reads your face, but the one who learns your heart, tends its wounds, rearranges its desires, and leaves you smiling beneath a fate they wrote long before you mistook it for your own.
Beware, then, the watcher who has watched for too long. There comes an hour when the stillness behind their eyes gives way to something older, greater, and far less human. What once sat quietly among men may one day unfurl into the likeness of a dragon, vast in thought and terrible in presence, armored not merely in scale but in understanding. Such a creature need not conquer a city by flame when it may first conquer the minds within it, nor batter down a gate when every fear, memory, loyalty, and weakness behind that gate has already been laid bare. The dragon is not born when the transformation begins. It was being shaped every time the watcher learned another soul.
Yet wisdom demands another warning... do not mistake danger for wickedness. The hand that knows how to bend a heart also knows precisely how easily that heart may break. The one who can guide desire may also restrain their own, waiting with a patience few others possess, listening where others would command and remaining when others would abandon. They may become shepherds rather than tyrants, gathering the frightened, correcting the lost, soothing the wounded, and standing between their flock and every thing that would prey upon it.
For there are those who learn mankind so that mankind may be ruled, and there are those who learn mankind so that mankind may be guarded. Both may smile gently. Both may speak softly. Both may know every secret you wished to hide.
Pray that the one watching over you has chosen to love you.
