Fic Summary :
For five years, Cliff Marleau has visited Ilya Rozanov in prison and kept his place warm in the world—because someone had to.
Then Cliff asks his captain and best friend, Shane Hollander, to write Ilya a birthday letter.
Shane, who lives inside the most carefully constructed closet in sports, signs it with one initial.
The letters become calls in the dark. Shane falls for a man he has never touched, and Ilya takes apart thirty years of performing perfection with nothing but his voice.
But Ilya cannot reach through the wall.
So Cliff, who already carries the letters, the money, the messages, and the weight of loving them both, becomes the conduit: Ilya’s hands when Ilya cannot be there, his eyes when Ilya can’t see, his body lent so Shane can learn what it feels like to be touched by someone who knows him.
Then Ilya gets out and walks from one locked room into another: Shane’s closet.
Three men. Three locked rooms.
The one who must learn how to be free.
