Abnormals | Original Story by Sniffles2012

Summary:

What would you do if your high school days were ripped away from you, and you were forced to go to an elite boarding school on the other side of the country for people with powers like you, except they were all rich snobs? That was the case for six teens at Jefferson High, when one of them almost kill another student.

Survival wouldn't be easy in their gilded cage; they must navigate high-society galas while hiding volatile abilities that carry devastating physical costs. But when a ruthless corporate faction marks them for termination, their underground safehouse threatens to detonate from the inside out. To stay alive in their society, they would have to play dirty.

Chapter 1: Worldbuilding - Part 1

Chapter Text

Hi, if you're wondering what this is, this is an introduction to my story, Abnormals. I've just decided to post this to see if anyone would notice, or if it seems like a good idea. This introduces my main characters in full detail.

Ash:
Ash has a clean-cut, athletic build and walks with the confident stride of a varsity football captain or a star jock. He pairs scuffed leather varsity jackets and oversized school sweatshirts with his combat boots and loose-fitting jeans. Those heavy layers are actually a tactical choice to hide the harsh physical toll his powers take on his skin. He has a warm but deeply intense look that tells you he is under a mountain of pressure. I thought Sendhil Ramamurthy would be great for a mid-2000s vibe, but Avan Jogia could also display a character that is trying their hardest to keep it together.

Roxy:
She is a tough, fiercely guarded girl who hides a lot of inner vulnerability behind a defensive shell. Her style changes completely as the story goes on; she starts off looking like a super-polished, preppy high schooler in pastel cardigans and plaid skirts, but eventually ditches the act for a more casual look with low-rise flare jeans, basic camisoles, and dark thermals. She has a sharp, powerful presence that makes it obvious she can handle herself in a fight. I took inspo from the Mowry twins in the early 2000s, but Zendaya, Liza Bonet and even Raven-Symone would fit the vibe of her character.

Sky:
He carries himself with a totally quiet, almost robotic discipline, moving through chaotic situations with complete precision. His style is the definition of late-90s techwear, meaning he’s always in wire-rimmed glasses, zip-up vests, tactical cargo pants with tons of pockets, and dark windbreakers. He operates with a cold, logical focus that makes him seem more like a machine than a teenager, totally covering up the messy human emotions he’s actually dealing with inside. If possible, Hwang Hyunjin would portray this character, or even Conan Gray, could carry the cold, calculating appearance.

Blaine:
He moves around with a quiet, moody charm, acting like a ghost who slips in and out of the group. His style is a mix of alternative goth and gender-fluid fashion, defined by long, middle-parted hair, thrifted dark trench coats, and sheer lace tops worn under structured velvet jackets. He carries a delicate but razor-sharp look, making him stand out like a character from a dark indie noir film. Actors like Jean-Paul Baptiste and Louis Partridge have a unique look that would make them be able to pull this character off.

Charlotte:
She has a naturally cold, proud gaze and an easy, elegant grace that makes her look totally unbothered by anything around her. Her wardrobe is a messy mix of alternative style and old-school wealth—she layers nice velvet slip dresses under big denim jackets, topped off with thick chokers and heavy boots. Even in casual grunge clothes, her posture is completely perfect, showing a structured, classy way of carrying herself that hints at a serious history of status and prestige. The main inspiration for this character is Olivia Rodrigo, due to her recent albums, and Charlotte mixes the visual themes of the albums perfectly, but I also consider Tracy Lynn Cruz, due to her personality.

Melody:
She is a loud, unapologetic presence who always speaks her mind with zero filter. Instead of being quiet or hiding away, Melody is sassy, blunt, and completely unbothered by what people think of her. Her non-conservative, rebellious views make her stand out instantly, especially in a traditional or uptight environment. She expresses her alt-lifestyle through her wardrobe, matching her sharp tongue with oversized vintage band tees, baggy thrift-store flannels, and a bulky Walkman permanently clamped around her neck to block out the world. Her expression easily slides between a confident, sarcastic smirk and a terrifyingly cold, sharp detachment that changes her entire body language. Lucy Liu, Brenda Song and Jennie are inspiration for her, as I think they could show the dual personality

These are the six main protagonists, and in the next chapter, I will cover the teachers and minor characters. Ciao!
